Digimon Encounter Zone

Chapter 6

It was a bit of a hassle getting down. But they managed it. He picked her up and started to carry her back. "By the way, what's your name. Mine's  Kouji." He said. "Well mine's Eva." They were silent the rest of the way. When they got back everyone was asleep but Zaltzmon. Cory must have put him on watch. Kouji thought. Zaltzmon bounded over. "You want me to wake them up?"He asked Kouji. "No, they can find out tomorrow. I'll take over from here so you can rest now." Kouji said. Zaltzmon walked over to a makeshift nest and snuggled in. Kouji turned his attention back to Eva. He set her in one of the beds. And she leaned her back onto a small tree they was there. Kouji walked over to Lukinomon.

Beside him was small pile of dock. He picked it up and brought it over Eva. He realized that in order to heal her, he needed more herbs. He told her he was going out to get some more herbs and that she should not move. He walked away and looked back. She was looking at him curiously. He continued on. He found some borage,  marigold, and a poppy seed. After he got all of what he needed, he headed back. He put all the herbs in separate piles.

"You don't mind it if I do this, do you? He asked. She shook her head. "Good." Kouji picked up some dock and marigold for her arm. He was a bit surprised to see it was still bleeding. Not much but a thin stream. He put the herbs on. It stopped bleeding. She winced. Now,for the gash on her forehead. He put the same politician on. He put the rest on her cuts. Then he did her ankle. He picked up the borage and wrapped it around it. Next was her ribs. It was a bit embarrassing if you asked him. He blushed a little while he put the borage on. He was nearly done. "Here take this. It will ease the pain." Kouji said. He gave her the poppy seed. She took it.

She eyed him carefully. Her eyes turned yellow. It was a moment of truth to see if she trusted him. It could have been poisonous in her mind to her. She decided to trust him. She swallowed it. Kouji saw her eyes start to droop. "Why did you help me? She asked. "I..I felt guilty for it, and it was all my fault you got hurt. I ordered the digimon to attack." "No. She said. I should have dedigivolved. I should have done that and explained more. "Come on, you know it was my fault. Now, I think you should rest." She gazed at him one more time,then closed her eyes. Kouji made sure everything was in order. Once he was satisfied, he laid down in a bed closest to Eva. He looked at her. Something about her calmed him. He fell asleep looking at her.

Kouji had a strange dream that night. He dreamt of a digimon who was evil. The digimon appeared in the shadows. It digimon came forward and bent to the ground. A huge hole opened up beneath Kouji. He fell in it. He managed to grab hold of the edge. The digimon came to the edge. Something was in its hand. A staff with a dinosaur that had flames coming out of it. The staff let out a beam of light that went straight to Kouji. It hit him. White flashed in his eyes and he felt as if every part of him was on fire. He screamed. He fell into the hole. The last thing he saw was the Digiworld crumbling.

He woke up sweating. His breath was hard and ragged. Never had he experienced a dream like that. He looked around. Everyone was still asleep except Leo. Leo was looking at him with a smirk. Kouji looked beside himself. He was leaning against Eva. He looked to where he was originally sleeping. He was sitting in her bed! He blushed very deeply. He moved back to where his bed was. Leo was still smirking. "You like her, don't ya Kouji?" "What! No!" He said. He face turned ever reder. "Hmph, yeah right." Leo replied. "Really!" Kouji said. "I wonder what Cory will say." "You will not speak a word of this to anyone!" "Alright fine." Leo said.

Kouji and Leo waited for the others to wake up. While Kouji was waiting, he thought about his dream. The dream had felt so real. Something was going to happen here while he was in this world. Something...big. His sort-of new friends were going to get involved. Kouji was their leader. He had to protect them. And if he didn't, his friends were going to get hurt. He and hos friends had to train. If they were to survive in this world, they needed to get stronger. Kouji was thinking so hard that he didn't notice that everyone was awake. He only noticed when Eva said something to him from her bed.

"So, what are ya doing." "Huh oh, I'm just thinking. He said. Just thinking." He murmured as went back in his trance slightly. "Um, I wanted to ask you, how did you know how to heal?" She asked. "Hmm. Kouji said now out of his trance fully. Well I guess that I just remember what my mom says about certain herbs. The rest came naturally." "Ah, okay. She said. "Why did you want to know?" He asked. "Oh just curious." She said. She went back to her bed.

Kouji glanced at Leo. He knew he would be looking. And truth tells fate he was. He was smirking again. Leo turned his gaze to Cory. Kouji shook his head. Not everyone needed to know what happened. Cory stood up and walked over to Kouji.

"We should probably get going now." Cory said. "Well yes, but there was something I wanted to talk to you about. Kouji said. I had a dream about the Digiworld crumbling. There was this digimon that had a staff. It had a dinosaur with flames coming out of it. The staff was radiating some  sort of immense power. I have a feeling that somehow we're meant to save the Digiworld from that digimon." Kouji never told anybody this, but he thought he was a bit psychic. He meant that sometimes his dreams came true. Almost like de`ja`vu`.

"Hmm okay, what makes you think that." Cory asked. "Well I'm sort of psychic. Not a lot but a little. Like my dreams most of the time come true. I've never told anybody this. So please don't tell anyone." Kouji said. "Hmm I believe you. Like you have that a ability, I have the ability to tell if someone is lying.Many people are gifted with little things that could make a big difference. Okay then, you say that you think that will happen, then we need a leader who can lead us on our journey. So are you willing to be our leader who will lead us?" Kouji never realized how smart Cory was. Even so, this was going to be a long and hard journey. Kouji knew he would have to lead them. Though, it was going to be tricky, Kouji knew his team could do it. Kouji was more sure about this then anything in his whole life. "Yes." C8
After Kouji had agreed to being their official leader, Cory made him tell Eva and Leo what was going to happen. They agreed with him being leader, though, Leo protested a little. He told them about how they were going on a journey to find and defeat the enemy. He told them it would be hard and that if they wanted to back away from it they could.

"Kouji I may not have been here long, but I'm part of the team now and we stick together no matter what." Eva said. "Me to." Leo agreed. Kouji looked at Cory who was standing by Leo. Cory, his right hand man. Then he looked at Leo. Leo, his optimistic friend. And then he looked at Eva. Eva, his smart and beautiful friend. This was his team. His one and only irreplaceable team.

"Alright then. He said. We'll leave at sunhigh. That meant they had about an hour to prepare. Let's get ready." Kouji and the others went off to get ready. After everything was ready, Kouji went to make sure that everyone was ready to go when sunhigh came. They were all ready. "All right now let's go." Kouji said. And they started to walk away. Kouji realized Eva was having a lot of trouble trying to stand and walk. "Here let me help you." He said. He went over to her and grabbed her arm and put it around his shoulder. He then put one had on her back, which was a bit embarrassing. "Thank you." She said blushing a little. As with that they were off.

Kouji really had no idea where they were going, so, he let his conscious guide him. They kept walking and walking with no digimon to attack them. Which was strange. But then later he got what he thought. A big digimon made of steel came upon them. It looked like a big knight, and, had a sword.

"That's Knightmon. He's normally a calm and obedient digimon. Lukinomon said. "Hey Knightmon why are you here?" Zaltzmon asked. Knightmon didn't answer. "Um maybe he's asleep." Ohniromon answered. "Uh I think your wrong because he's stating to move." Leo said. Just as Leo said that the Knightmon sprung to life. It raised its sword high in the air and charged at the first thing it saw. It was unfortunately Eva and him. "Watch out!" Lukinomon yelled.

He digivolved into Arismon. He ran at the Knightmon. Arismon rushed at the Knightmon so fast that when he passed he knocked them over with the wind. "Iced Thunderstrike!" Arismon yelled. He hit the Knightmon. It disintegrated immediately. Arismon let out a yowl of triumph and dedigivolved. Kouji was amazed by Lukinomon. He was so strong. Leo let out a snicker. Cory let out a small laugh. What now. Kouji thought. Lukinomon walked over.

"Umm Kouji what going on? Why are you on the ground with her on you?" Leo and Cory couldn't hold it longer. They burst out laughing. Kouji realized he actually was on the ground with Eva on him. Kouji turned as red as a cherry. Oh no. He thought. They were going to make fun of him the rest of his life. Eva was also red faced. Her eyes were light red. "Having fun there Kouji." Leo said. Ugh. Kouji thought. "So are you just going to stay like that forever or are you going to get up?" Cory remarked. Eva got right up and Kouji followed.

"How are you able to stand?" Kouji asked her. "Oh since I'm part digimon I heal fast, like really fast." She said. They started walking again. Leo and Cory couldn't stopped giggling like girls. Oh well. Kouji thought. He looked back at Eva. She was smiling a bit like she enjoyed the thing that just happened. Kouji couldn't blame her, he enjoyed it a bit to. He slowed down to walk with her. He let Cory take the lead. "So what does it feel like to be a digimon?"  He asked. "Well it feels weird like I'm a spirit in another body." She told Kouji. "That must feel strange." He wondered what it would feel like if he was in Lukinomon's body. Just a spirit.

It was getting dark and they were exhausted so Kouji had the others make camp. He helped a bit but he was lost in thought. Finally it was ready so Kouji was grateful for the bed. He fell asleep immediately.

Kouji had the same dream he had the night before. Except now there was another person with him. Two in fact. Kouji didn't have a chance to look at them much. For the dream went on and as he fell into the hole, the boys did nothing but stare. And he woke up. His thoughts were all jumbled. What was that? He thought. Were there more people here? There must be. He thought. He got up. Everyone was awake. "Come on guys lets get going." He said. They set off for another long day.

As they were walking Kouji took the lead. He liked being leader. They went several hours without seeing a digimon, though, they saw some. Kouji knew their luck would run out. They kept walking in their usual from. Kouji at the front Cory behind him followed by Eva then Leo, but just a bit disordered. "Hey Kouji can we take a break. We've been walking for hours." Leo exclaimed. "We have been and I'm a bit tired to. Cory said. Eva agreed.

"Sure why not." Kouji said. He was a bit tired himself. They found a shady tree to rest under. "Ever noticed its getting hot? Eva asked. "Yeah, it is." Cory said. "Whew I'm burning up." Leo said. He was sweating a lot. So was everyone else. It was a getting hotter by the minute. "Am I  seeming things or is that a cyborg dinosaur?" Leo asked. "I see it to." Eva said. Kouji looked closer at it. It looked like Greymon but had a metal mask and its left arm was a gun looking thing. White and red wings spread out from its back.

"That's Rizegreymon. He's an ultimate digimon. And that's not good at all. He's to strong for us digimon. I know for a fact he's stronger than Myotismon. He's also the reason we're so hot." Lukinomon said.

"Um it's still coming at us and we're sitting ducks!" Kouji exclaimed. "Lets get out of here." Cory said. They started to run away. "Where do you think you're going! I have strict orders from Murmixmon to destroy you!" Rizegreymon yelled in a deep grumbly voice. The children stopped. "Yeah that's right stop. Now then, Atomic Inferno!" Rizegreymon yelled. A huge beam of red fire formed right out of his gun. "Get out of the way guys!" Ohniromon yelled. "Watch out!" Lukinomon yelled. (Lukinomon, Ohniromon, Zaltzmon digivolve to, Arismon, Draynmon, Eletnomon!)

The three digimon pushed the kids out of the way. There was a huge explosion where they used to be. "Whew, that was close." Leo said. "Don't be so sure. It looks like he's coming back for another." Kouji said. "Atomic Inferno!" Rizegreymon yelled. Again the digimon pushed them out of the way.

"Come on guys lets get him." Lukinomon said. The digimon went forward and started to gather their strength for a big attack. " Iced Thunderstrike, Raging Flame, Ace Wind!" The digimon yelled together. Their attack combined to become one big attack. Their attack hit Rizegreymon. They heard a rumbling laugh. "Fools, you're going to need a lot more then that to destroy me." Rizegreymon said. There wasn't even a scarce on him. The digimon started to attack again.

"I'm going to help them." Eva said. "No you can't you'll get hurt." Kouji said. "I have to." And she was gone before Kouji could protest. Oh no. This is going to be bad. Kouji thought. Eva stood out In front of Rizegreymon. "Hmm come to get squashed?" Rizegreymon teased. Eva took out her digivice. She held out her hand and a white ring formed around it. She raised her hand to the digivice and swiped the ring on it. Then a white light enveloped her. She transformed until she was Reavqmon.

"Wow that was cool." Leo said. "Oh just shut up." Cory replied. Kouji didn't say anything. He was to worried. Eva started to attack with the other digimon attacking to. "Shadow slash!" Reavqmon yelled. Around her right paw a shadow big shadow appeared. It was of Reavqmon`s paw and had razor sharp claws. She ran at Rizegreymon. She jumped up and slashed him.

She stepped back stunned. There wasn't even a scratch on him. The other digimon stared. How were they supposed to defeat him? Kouji thought. The digimon were out of shock and attacking again. They did no harm. "Is that all you got? Atomic Inferno! Rizegreymon yelled as he fired the attack.

The digimon jumped out of the way but got seared a little. "Ugh stop dogging. I guess I'll go for your leader since your to far away to help. Ground Smash! Rizegreymon yelled. His right fist turned to metal and he hit the ground. The ground under Kouji shook. He fell down. "Now then." Rizegreymon walked over to Kouji. The digimon were battling.g him fiercely, but were getting tired.

Rizegreymon got to Kouji unharmed. He picked Kouji up by the neck He started to struggle. "Better stop it's not going to help you." Rizegreymon said. "Put him down!" Reavqmon yelled. "Yeah!" Leo exclaimed. "Kouji are you okay?" Lukinomon asked. "We have to help him." Cory said. "Let him go!" Reavqmon said desperately. Rizegreymon`s grip was tightening. Soon he would run out of breath. He would faint.
