To Make The World Go Away

This EXCELLENT summary was written by "Akino Ame"...Thank you!!
Images prepared by me (Julie).

EmperorGreymon and MagnaGarurumon are still transporting everyone when they finally find the castle. Meanwhile, the Royal Knights converse with Lucemon, who wants to fulfill his destiny. Crusadermon says they would do anything to help, even if it meant risking their lives—can anyone say “foreshadowing”? She then asks if he will give them the key to the human world, and Lucemon says of course, though he finds her lack of faith disturbing—it’s not my quote there; I think I got it from Star Wars. Dynasmon then pulls an X-men movie quote out of the hat by asking why she asks questions to which she already knows the answers. He adds that her doubt will make her weak, whatever that means.

The Digis stand in the middle of a flower field that looks more like the one from the movie (you know, the one chibi Willis ran through at the beginning, but it seems more like it’s from the Wizard of Oz. Hope no one falls asleep). Koichi keeps reflecting on Crusadermon’s words, worrying everyone. But when Koji asks, he just puts on a Jeri-like “Everything’s peachy” attitude and enters with them.

Inside is a huge library—the kind that would keep Izzy from Adventure happy for weeks—with the librarian Nefertimon (and she pronounces her name the same way as the original one in 02, though no one else does). Sadly, she doesn’t know where the key to protecting the place is, but the Legendary Warriors are welcome to look. Bokomon, Neemon, and Patamon are the look-outs, the twins head upstairs—though Koji again notices his older brother’s distraction—J.P. again tries to hit on Zoe (after seeming to have given up a long time ago) and asks if she wants to help him. Luckily, Tommy interrupts, giving Zoe the idea to send J.P. into the inner rooms with Tommy while she goes with Takuya to the basement. As usual, J.P. is devastated, and can barely hide it.

Koji’s still looking and Koichi’s still distant, but again hiding it when Koji asks what’s wrong. Koichi tries to break the news to him, but can’t. Koji then comments on how glad he was that he came to the Digital World, got to meet his brother, and how they can see each other anytime in the Real World. Koichi looks rather guilty at this.

J.P. and Tommy begin talking about just how terrified they are of messing up and losing. J.P. comments that Tommy’s brave for admitting that, and then admits his own fear.

Okay, Kouzumi, Junzumi, and Takouji fans, this is where you should run out of the room. I’d switched to another show at this point, but now I have to sit through it to write the darned summary. Takuya says he really likes Zoe too in response, but not in that way. Zoe blushes like a CCS character for about an hour until she turns around to see Takuya lying asleep in a pile of books—snoring and blowing snot bubbles like T.K. and Patamon in “The Good, the Bad, and the Digi.” Well, I guess that’s why Michael Reisz plays Takuya…(You know what? Those Takumi fans maybe ought to run too.)

When the Digis regather with no results and a promise to find the key, Bokomon observes Koichi standing about as far away from them as possible, looking like Ken at the end of the Digimon Emperor arc. Bokomon asks him if he’s worried about Crusadermon’s comment, and he makes Bokomon promise not to tell anyone else. But of course, Koji observed his brother’s distance again too.

The Royal Knights arrive and blast open the door. Crusadermon confuses them all by making another Tuxedo Mask comment comparing them to a flower. After Takuya and the Knights trade insults for awhile, the Digis decide to do the unnecessarily long “Ice into Flame” thing and Takuya and Koji use their Unified Spirit Evolution.

(Note: however, for some reason, Dave Wittenburg reads off the Koji script and Steve Staley reads off the Takuya script. Either it’s April Fools Day and nobody told us, or they can do some really good impressions!)

Well, the evolutions (and mixed-up voices) were pretty pointless as the Royal Knights know exactly where—or rather, who—the key is. It’s Nefertimon, the Angel of Light. She uses her Beam of Isis (Cat’s Eye Beam) and Rosetta Stone to try to fight, but then tells the Zetas to destroy her to protect the castle. The Zetas attack Dynasmon and Crusadermon (who is holding a book. The next Harry Potter, perhaps?), only to decide to use a DBZ-esque fight and have this explanation on why they fight—kind of like in Tamers, I guess. But for once, the two are actually winning! It’s amazing! But then a blast of power erupts from Lucemon’s area, knocking out the Zetas and making it easy for the Royal Knights to grab Nefertimon. When the data is scanned, the kids are left standing on thin air—maybe the Zetas didn’t have to save everyone back in “Now You See It, Now You Don’t”—and Lucemon is finally resurrected.

In a voice like Izzy’s, he makes all these demands, only to have the Digis call him spoiled, a brat, a baby, and all these other insults. Lucemon decides he’s bored with the kids—much like Vega from Zoids NC0—and blasts them into the sky, where they conveniently catch a ride with Trailmon Angler and head to the moon.

And after four days of hearing Bokomon as the narrator, I’m really missing Rika.
