Cherubimon appears before Mercuremon, Arbormon and Ranamon. He is very much aware of Grumblemon's demise. He also knows that Mercuremon is keeping Seraphimon's fractal code for himself. Mercuremon is allowed to keep the data.....for now.

Meanwhile the children, traveling by trailmon, arrive at the Dark Gate. Trailmon refuses to take the children any further and dumps them. The chosen ones vote to pass through the Dark Gate into the Continent of Darkness. They creep slowly through the darkness until they come across some glowing moss. The light from the moss helps them see. Suddenly mysterious noises startle them. A number of bat-like Digimon repeat every word the children utter. Bokomon explains the Digimon are gentle Pipismon, and there is no need to be frightened.

Relief turns to shock as Arbormon appears and ruthlessly destroys several of the Pipismon. He evolves to Petaldramon and begins knocking down trees. The children spirit evolve...ready for a battle. The warriors attacked, however, at one point Petaldramon had all except BurningGreymon tangled in his vines. BurningGreymon gave the evil Digimon his flaming tsunami attack, which freed the others. Working together, they defeated Petaldramon. KendoGarurumon Slide Evolved to Wolfmon and "Fractal Code Digitize!!"

Arbormon is stunned...then relieved when Duskmon arrives. In a cruel twist, Duskmon destroys him claiming he is useless without his beast spirit. The warrior children stand there in disbelief and awe....confused at what just took place in front of them. Is this Digimon a friend or foe....????
