A large passenger plane lands at a busy airport. Max gets off the plane with a carry-on bag. He hears familiar voices calling him. All the Bladebreakers are waiting to meet him. Ray apparently got in just before Max, he has a duffel bag next to him. Max cheerfully greets them all, and asks who the girl is. Tyson says to forget her. Hillary introduces herself, and Max calls her cute. Mr. Dickinson greets Max and thanks him for coming. Max says no problem, it’s great to have the team together again. Mr. Dickinson announces the Bladebreakers have one week to train for their match with Team Psykick. Tyson declares training starts today at his place.
In the Team Psykick training facility, asks Gideon asks Dr. B if his magtram blades are ready for battle. Dr. B assures him everything is on schedule. Gideon orders that they must be invincible!
The Bladebreakers are all sitting in the dojo. They are discussing the mysterious caped beybladers who defeated them. Ray, Max, and Kai never saw them again after their first matches. Hillary slams her hand on the floor and orders them to forget the caped beybladers. They have a match with Team Psykick in one week, they need to start practicing! Tyson and Hillary argue again. Kenny agrees with Hilary, they must concentrate on Team Psykick and the men in black. Kenny asks Max if he remembered “the thing.” Max says sure, and pulls out a case. Inside are several beyblade core components, the MG Cores, which will counteract the magnetic forces in Team Psykick’s blades. When spun at high rate of speed these cores create a strong magnetic force field. These fields will reduce air drag and increase response. A beyblader can have complete control over their blade . . . if they can master it!
Kenny finishes his lecture on the MG core, and the Bladebreakers go outside to try out their new blades. Tyson goes first and attempts his signature lightning 180° turn, but his blade crashes into a wall. Ray tests out his new Driger 5 blade with the MG core, but Driger just goes in circles. The team wonders what is going on. Dizzi explains that the MG core picks up on each particular blade’s strengths and multiplies them . . . if you know how to use them. Max confidently announces he’ll go next. He tries to make Draciel do a triple jump, but it just flops upside down. Tyson and Ray tease him. Next Kai launches Dranzer, and at first it seems he has control. But Dranzer careens out of control, hits a wall and a tree, almost takes out the team, then half-buries itself in the dirt. Hillary asks Kenny if they can handle these new blades, but Kenny doesn’t know.
Day 2. Bright and early, Grandpa is exercising in the yard. Hillary and Kenny arrive. Whole team is sleeping on futons in the dojo. Hillary loudly wakes Tyson, and Tyson protests it’s 6 a.m.! In the yard, Kenny & Hillary show a chart Hillary created. It is a training list with basic moves: straight line, left turn, right turn, slalom, zigzag. Hillary explains that you need to start any new skill at the beginning. Tyson starts arguing with Hillary, saying they are world champions with their own training system and are beyond such basic moves. Hillary counters she is just trying to help. Tyson and Hillary grow angrier and wrestle with the chart, finally ripping it in half. Hillary and Tyson look shocked, each holding half of the chart. Tyson then starts to criticize Hillary, saying she is an ignorant non-blader who has no business there. Hillary, sad and hurt, says she was just trying to help. She gives up and leaves. The other Bladebreakers criticize Tyson for how badly he treated Hillary. Tyson feels a little repentant, but still feels he was right.
Day 3. At school, Kenny and Hillary exchange polite words. Tyson enters, but he and Hillary won’t talk. Kenny invites Hillary back to the practice, she doesn’t reply. Back at Tyson’s place, the Bladebreakers are in the yard practicing. Tyson is trying to run an obstacle course of common household objects like teakettles, pans, and soda cans. He has a little more control, but finally wipes out. Grandpa asks where Hillary is, but Kenny can’t answer.
That night inside the dojo, a very depressed team is sitting around on the floor. They still cannot control their MG Core blades, and they only have 3 days left until the match. Kai steps out alone into the moonlit yard, trying to figure out a solution. He sees half of Hillary’s chart blow by, and realizes they need to get back to basics.
Day 4. Early the next morning Grandpa is exercising again. The Bladebreakers (and Kenny) are asleep in their street clothes, apparently they practiced last night until they dropped. The sound of a beyblade wakes them up, and they find Kai training in the yard. He has total control of his blade, making it do crisp turns. He catches his blade with satisfied smile. Astonished, the team asks how. Kai holds up half of Hillary’s list and says he went back to basics. Much later at sunset, Hillary is walking along the river path. She is stopped by Tyson’s beyblade, under control. She turns around and sees all the Bladebreakers, smiling penitently. They hold up her taped-together training chart and say they went back to basics. Tyson apologizes and says she was right. The team asks her to come back and help them train. She asks why they want a non-blader, they say they want their friend to help them. Hillary says she will come back . . . but she won’t go easy on them!
Day 5. Cut back to Tyson’s place, where everybody is practicing. Kenny and Dizzi analyze each blader’s performance, and Hillary shouts instructions. Hillary and Tyson still argue. Bit by bit the team improves, gaining mastery over their blades.
Day 6. Hillary pronounces them ready. Mr. Dickinson arrives to check their progress. Tyson and Kai launch their blades and begin a battle. They have complete power and control. The blades achieve maximum magnetic force fields. They did it!
Day 7. Today is the match with Team Psykick, and a shuttle bus is waiting outside the dojo. Excited, the team boards the bus. Inside the dojo Grandpa bids Hillary a special farewell, and she runs out to the bus also. The bus is driving along, and the team is eagerly looking forward to the match. The bus driver unobtrusively seals off passenger section, and pumps in sleeping gas. The team falls asleep in their seats. The bus drives along a seaside road, and the driver laughs evilly. This time Gideon has kidnapped the entire team!
