We see inside a dark, super-secret high-tech laboratory. A white-haired scientist, Dr. B., is testing a new beyblade design while Gideon observes. Slim, the senior man in black, is giving Fatso an orientation tour of the beyblade research and development facility. He explains the scientists accumulate information on top beybladers, which almost guarantees perfection. Gideon keeps goal of project quiet, but the pay for the flunkies is great! Fatso and Slim enter a two-story gym and training area. Boys in a distinctive green uniform are lifting weights, exercising, and practicing their beyblade skills in various training areas. Slim explains they are recruited from all over the world, and only the best are kept in the program. Slim spots one particular kid with auburn hair, buckteeth, and a vicious expression named Snaky. He launches his beyblade and cleaves a steel plate wall in half. Snaky catches his nasty-looking fanged beyblade and grins. Slim takes the kid to one side and shows him a new experimental beyblade component. This new Magtram core creates a magnetic field, which reduces air resistance and gives the beyblader complete control . . . if you master it. Slim offers Snaky the chance to test the magtram, and guarantees he’ll never lose. They’ve even picked out Snaky’s first opponent: Tyson and his Dragoon beyblade. Snaky asks if he can break Dragoon apart. Slim says sure, and Snaky chuckles evilly.

Tyson is asleep, dreaming of his rematch with Ozuma. Tyson repeatedly demands a battle with Ozuma, but Ozuma just looks at him contemptuously. Tyson shouts, “This isn’t a game to me anymore!” and bolts awake in class.  Hillary protests, and Tyson ends up cleaning the bathrooms.

Tyson, Kenny, and Hillary are walking along a neighborhood street. Kenny cannot find anything on their kidnappers. Hillary declares their kidnappers must be part of an international criminal organization. They left no evidence of the kidnapping, which means they must be pros. Hillary declares they want to dominate the world, and spouts a bizarre conspiracy theory. During this lecture Tyson zones out. Tyson, a little spacey, politely excuses himself and says he has things to do. Hillary, determined to prove her theories, leads Kenny to harbor. Cut to the riverside park, where Tyson flashbacks to his disastrous rematch with Ozuma. How did Ozuma beat him? His blade was so powerful! Tyson was thoroughly humiliated and insulted. Again, Tyson vows revenge. That night Grandpa sees Tyson working at his desk, and is glad that Tyson is finally studying. Tyson comes out and scolds his Grandpa, saying he has important work to do and needs his privacy. He gets back to work, and Grandpa rejoices.

Back at Gideon’s training facility, the formal test of the new magtram blade is about to begin. Gideon, Dr. B., Fatso, and Slim are observing on the upper balcony. On the floor is a bey-stadium and lots of equipment. There are also several worried-looking beybladers, staring at Snaky’s vicious-looking blade. A timer ticks down, and the eight beybladers launch their blades into the bey-stadium. Snaky also launches his new magtram beyblade, and in moments smashes all eight blades into tiny pieces. Snaky picks up his blade with a vicious grin. Gideon says it is an impressive feat, well done. Snaky chuckles.

The next morning Tyson runs from his family dojo, a stack of WANTED posters of Ozuma under his arm. Tyson plans to put them up all over town. Someone will turn Ozuma in, and then Tyson will get his rematch and save his reputation! The camera cuts to a panorama of a seaside observation area. There is a wooded headland, and stone stairs leading down to a terrace overlooking the ocean. There are also some benches and a railing holding large observation binoculars. Hillary is using the binoculars to look for enemy ships. Kenny wants a turn, but when he gets the binoculars time runs out. Tyson is late meeting them, and Hillary threatens to make him clean up for the rest of his life. Tyson arrives and puts his wanted posters on one of the benches. Tyson wants Kenny and Hillary to help him put them up. Hillary says searching for Ozuma is pointless, she wants them to continue looking for her criminal organization. Tyson doesn’t believe Hillary’s conspiracy theories and laughs. Kenny tries work out a compromise, they really need to work together, but Tyson and Hillary reject him. Suddenly Snaky’s beyblade slices through Tyson’s posters, and we see Snaky on steps. Tyson is angry, he worked hard on those posters, and demands an apology. Snaky just snickers evilly, and runs back up the steps into the woods. Tyson pursues Snaky, who suddenly halts at a bey-stadium on the path. Snaky wants a battle. Tyson accepts, and Snaky snickers with anticipation.

The scene opens with classic Old West showdown music playing, and Tyson facing off against Snaky. Dizzi has no data on this strange new opponent. She advises caution, this guy is on a mission! Slim and Fatso are up in a nearby tree, filming as usual. Tyson and Snaky launch their blades, they are powerful and evenly matched. Snaky nearly pushes Tyson’s blade out. Tyson’s blade attacks, but Snaky’s blade evades and counterattacks, pushing Tyson’s blade to the edge again. Tyson and Kenny are astonished, Snaky’s blade has unprecedented speed and maneuverability. Dizzi analyzes Snaky’s blade and detects the magnetic core inside. That is what gives Snaky’s blade such an advantage!

Dragoon is being pounded, and Snaky begins final attack maneuvers. Tyson is panicking, but suddenly hears a reassuring voice behind him. It’s Kai, in a new battle costume! Kai calmly orders Tyson to have Dragoon attack.  Tyson, reassured by his old coach’s presence, regains his focus and goes on the attack. Dragoon bursts forth in a blaze of light, blinding Fatso who is filming. Hillary doesn’t see Dragoon, only a white light coming from the dish. Kai knows Tyson will win if he can control Dragoon. Dragoon attacks Snaky’s blade, but is not yet completely in control. Everybody watches intently, and Kai mentally encourages Tyson. Tyson and Dragoon attack with sudden force and knock Snaky’s blade out of the dish! Tyson drops to one knee, exhausted, and thanks Dragoon. Snaky just stands looking ready to cry. Tyson gives Snaky an appreciative grin for a great battle. Fatso and Slim report to Gideon, saying they got a great recording and asking for orders. Gideon says the data is what was important, and they have no further use for a failure like Snaky.

From the woods we see a long shot of Kenny, Hillary, Tyson, and Kai at the observation point. They are looking out at the ocean, Kai standing apart. Ozuma is in the woods, observing them. Kai’s jerk opponent from last episode joins Ozuma, wearing the familiar hooded cape. The jerk asks if that is Tyson, and comments Tyson did better than they thought. Ozuma says Tyson just got lucky. They both look forward to future rematches, and laugh with anticipation.
