The episode begins with a montage of the first episode battle, and then cuts to Tyson at home, sitting by his family’s pond.  He is remembering the battle, how his opponent’s beyblade predicted his every move.  Worst of all, his defeat humiliated him in his home town in front of all his fans!  He wonders who his mysterious opponent is, and vows there will be a rematch.  Suddenly Grandpa tries to attack Tyson with his kendo sword, but Tyson heard him coming a mile off.  Grandpa gives Tyson a bizarre, rambling, but logically sound lecture about how Tyson can never let his guard down, and that if he wants to win he has to train his mind.  Tyson actually gets the message.  Grandpa then tries to do another sneak kendo attack, but Tyson apparently uses his head to predict Grandpa’s move.  He substitutes a flowerpot for himself, which Grandpa shatters, and Tyson leaves him crying.

Kenny is sitting in the classroom before class begins.  He and Dizzi are reviewing data from Tyson’s battle.  The other kids are gossiping about the battle and criticizing Tyson.  Kenny, fed up, yells at them to shut up.  He asserts that Tyson is still world champ, and that he must feel awful about the loss.

Tyson is running towards school, still fuming about the battle, and suddenly realizes he is late.  Back in the classroom, Kenny asks the class not to mention yesterday’s battle.  Ms. Kincaid enters to begin class, and Tyson runs into class late as usual.  Hillary scolds Tyson, and criticizes him for losing yesterday’s battle.  Hillary and Tyson snarl at each other face-to-face, and the teacher takes cover behind her desk.  Suddenly Tyson deflates Hillary’s anger by laughingly admitting he lost.  Tyson declares he’ll win a rematch, and vainly soaks up the class’ approval.  Ms. Kincaid longingly thinks of a vacation.

Cut to Tyson and Kenny on the school’s roof, where dark cloud shadows sweep over them.  Kenny is working on his laptop computer.  He informs Tyson he can’t find the mystery blader.  Kenny and Dizzi are having problems reconstructing the data from Tyson’s battle, Dizzi can only manage a brief clip.  When Tyson criticizes them, Kenny gets angry, and Tyson apologizes.  Tyson stands up and announces to the whole city that he will win his rematch.

Cut to a big city in America, where Max in walking down an alley listening to his Walkman.  Someone taps him on the shoulder.  It is a teenage girl in the same hooded cape as Tyson's mysterious opponent, with the same icy blue-green eyes.  She holds up her beyblade, which is blank and ordinary, and challenges Max to a beyblade battle. Cut to a building’s loading dock, where Max and the girl face each other across a bey-stadium.  They both launch their blades.  Max is confident he will win, but he is stunned opponent’s blade suddenly glows.  The girl snickers.

The camera cuts to Ray’s home village in the mountains of China.  We see Ray giving Beyblading lessons to eager village children.  Suddenly a short boy with green hair approaches.  He is wearing the familiar hooded cloak, and has those icy blue-green eyes.  Ray and the boy face off and launch their blades.  Ray is astonished by the battle’s intensity, but is really shocked when the boy’s blade starts to glow.

Kenny walks out of a downtown computer store.  His laptop checked out OK, so why can’t he read the battle data? Suddenly he spots the mysterious hooded beyblader walking down the street.  Kenny follows, and in his haste crosses the street at a red light.  He is almost run over by Fatso and Slim’s black van, and he loses sight of the mystery blader.

Tyson and Kenny are in their usual place at the riverside park.  Kenny tells Tyson he spotted the mystery beyblader, so he is still in town.  Tyson begins doing pushups, training for his rematch.  Suddenly Kenny receives an e-mail from Max.  Max warns them about the strange new cloaked opponents, and has included a video clip of his disastrous battle with the strange girl and her powerful beyblade.  Tyson concludes that it is no coincidence, he and Max were targeted by the same group.  Kenny wants more evidence.

Cut to Tyson’s classroom, and Tyson is asleep during Ms. Kincaid’s lecture.  Tyson is having a nightmare.  He and Max are back-to-back, surrounded by giant-sized cloaked opponents.  In his nightmare Tyson agonizes over who his cloaked opponents are, and what they want.  When Ms. Kincaid asks the class a question, Tyson suddenly pops awake shouting, “I don’t get it!”  Hillary scolds Tyson in front of the whole class.  Afterwards in the hallway, Hillary demands that the cringing Ms. Kincaid have Tyson transferred since he’s a no-good troublemaker.

Kenny and Tyson are is in front of the school.  Kenny is still processing the data from the battle, and Tyson is depressed.  Suddenly Kenny’s mom bicycles into the school with a fast food delivery, and scolds Kenny for not helping at their restaurant.  She also tells Kenny he has a letter from someone named Ray at home.  (Do Kenny’s parents understand what he’s been up to the past year?)  Suddenly Hillary and an angry gang of girls armed with brooms appear.  Hillary orders Tyson to help them clean up the school as he is scheduled to do, or else face a month’s detention.  [Lady Leosa’s Note:  In Japan, students clean the classrooms and grounds.]  Kenny quickly excuses himself, leaving Tyson to his fate.

Kenny rushes through his family’s tiny restaurant and upstairs to his bedroom to read Ray’s letter.  Ray recounts his battle with the cloaked boy, and the mysterious force he felt which caused his defeat.  Kenny realizes Ray was victim number three.

We see Tyson fleeing through town, pursued by an angry mob of girls armed with mops and brooms.  He slips through several tight alleyways, and gloats that he escaped cleaning duty.  Not so, a lone Hillary spots him and pursues.  She chases him through the riverside park.  Tyson runs down a slope to the river, and is halted by a sudden dust devil.  When it clears, he sees his mystery opponent standing by a bey-stadium.  Tyson greets his nemesis, and Hillary wonders what is happening.

At home in his bedroom, Kenny is analyzing the video clips recorded by himself and Max.  He notices a brief, faint image, but can’t make out any details.  He asks Dizzi to do a complex comparison analysis.  Dizzi complains as usual, but goes to work.  Dizzi pushes herself to her limits, almost frying her systems, but with Kenny’s encouragement she gets though.  Kenny falls off chair.  The analysis is successful, and Kenny and Dizzi finally see the secret to the mystery blader’s power: an invisible bitbeast!  We only see a rough, pixilated image, but it is definitely a predatory animal.

The wind whips through the riverside park like in an Old West movie.  Tyson is in his battle intensity mode.  He challenges the mystery blader to a rematch right then.  Hillary, still holding her broom, looks on behind him.  In a voiceover, Kenny realizes Tyson can’t fight a rematch without knowing about the invisible bitbeast.  Kenny has to warn him!
