Beyblade V-Force, Episode 12 Summary, "Bring Me Dranzer!"
December 11, 2003 by Lady Leosa

We see an exterior of a hospital.  Tyson’s beyblade launches out the window, bounces off walls and trees and back inside the window.  Inside Tyson catches the blade.  He is sitting up in a hospital bed, his lower left leg bandaged.  The other patients in the ward applaud, and Tyson vainly soaks up the attention.  Suddenly Tyson hears a stern adult voice demanding to know what’s causing all the commotion.  Tyson hides his blade under his pillow and cowers, but it turns out to be Max who is just funning with Tyson.  The whole team is visiting Tyson.  Kai asks how Tyson is feeling, and then why he isn’t home yet.  Tyson answers he likes it in the hospital, he does what he wants and he doesn’t have to go to school.  Suddenly we see Hillary behind him, outraged by his confession.  Then Ms. Kincaid comes in to visit, and Tyson pulls this routine like he’s at death’s door.  Ms. Kincaid gives him gift-wrapped box, and Tyson suddenly springs to life again, wondering if it’s cake.  It’s geometry homework, courtesy of Hillary.

The next visitor is Ms. Dickinson, who comes to see how Tyson is doing.  The Bladebreakers talk in private in the hospital’s rooftop garden.  Kai stares out over the city, the rest of the team stands around Mr. Dickinson, and the still-convalescing Tyson sits on the bench.  The chairman apologizes for the ordeal the Bladebreakers went through, but the team rightly puts the blame on Team Psykick.  Tyson asks Mr. Dickinson to find Ozuma for him, because Tyson wants a rematch so he can get his revenge.  Mr. Dickinson is shocked when he learns about the invisible bit beasts Ozuma’s crew has.  Ozuma is observing the group from a higher neighboring rooftop.  Kai senses they are being watched, but can’t see anyone.  The rest of the Bladebreakers want revenge too, except for Kai who is neutral.  The team understands, since Kai is the only one who did not lose, but tied.  Kenny gives Mr. Dickinson a disk with all information to date, and Mr. Dickinson promises that BBA chapters worldwide will help.

At Gideon’s HQ, the Doctor and his men are looking over the video footage and data collected on the island.  We see that the sensors perceive the bit beasts as mechanical animals, not living ones.  The Bladebreakers’ bit beasts were just too powerful to capture.  The big boss Gideon appears, and tells them their methods are too outdated.  As the old saying goes, it takes one to catch one.  If Team Psykick can’t capture the original bit beasts, they should create their own using the data they’ve collected, then use the artificial bit beasts to catch the real ones.  Gideon demands the doctor begin production of these “Cyber Bit Beasts” as soon as possible.

Cut to inside dockside warehouse, where we see Ozuma without his hooded cape.  He is practicing with his beyblade while Dunga watches.  Suddenly two other beyblades join Ozuma’s, and the cloaked beybladers who beat Max and Ray leap down to join him.  We find out they are a sister and brother named Miriam and Joseph.  The four discuss how they won their battles but did not capture the Bladebreakers’ bit beasts.  They also discuss Team Psykick, which is always getting in their way.  Miriam eats Dunga’s sandwiches, and teases him about his smell, his low intelligence, and his inability to beat Kai.  Dunga grows furious, smashes some crates, and rushes out of the warehouse for a rematch with Kai right away.

Back at Gideon’s HQ the Doctor is going over the data on the Blade breakers’ bit beasts.  They realize they are missing vital data on Dranzer, since Kai refused to call him out on the island and their equipment was destroyed.  The Doctor sends Fatso and Slim out to get the vital info.

A taxi brings Tyson back home to his family’s dojo.  He is glad to be home, and in the courtyard finds his Grandfather, Hillary, and the whole team waiting to welcome him back.  Max presents Tyson with a new shooter; all the Bladebreakers got new shooters as homecoming presents from Mr. Dickinson.  Tyson wants to try his out right away, but Hillary and Grandpa demand he go inside and do his schoolwork.  Suddenly Dunga appears on the perimeter wall’s roof, laughs at them, and leaps away.  A furious Kai leaps ninja-like to the rooftop and down into the streets after Dunga.  The rest take the easy way after them, through the doorway.

Kai pursues Dunga to the riverside park, and finds a beyblade stadium set up under a road bridge.  Kai demands to know his opponent’s name, and Dunga tells him.  Dunga challenges Kai to a rematch, and Kai grimly accepts.  Above on a nearby road we see the black van.  Fatso and Slim followed Dunga straight to Kai.  They move their van onto the bridge directly above the battle, and deploy their remote arm camera to record the match.  Kai and Dunga launch their blades and begin a vicious battle.  Dunga is shocked he can’t defeat Kai quickly, but Kai is smiling and confident.  The rest of the Bladebreakers arrive in the park.  Tyson spots Kai and runs to help, though Hillary tries to stop him.  When Tyson reaches Kai, Kai yells at him to back off, that he can defeat Dunga alone.  Now all the Bladebreakers are behind Kai watching the battle, and the action intensifies.

In the van, Fatso and Slim are not getting good sensor readings.  They extend the camera closer.  Kenny and Dizzi monitor the battle, and suddenly see the flash that indicates Dunga has released his invisible bit beast.  Dizzi can detect a lashing serpentine form, and gets a flash of an apelike face.  The rest of the team is worried that Kai can’t handle this invisible bit beast, but Kai confidently releases Dranzer.  Dranzer bursts from his blade with incredible power, and seems to be wrestling midair with a serpent-like line of light.  Again, the sensors see Dranzer as mechanical, not animal.  Kenny detects electromagnetic interference with his monitoring, and the team spots the overhead camera.  Ozuma, cloaked and hidden nearby, destroys the camera with his beyblade.  Electrical feedback shocks Fatso and Slim and their equipment.  They hastily drive away.  The combination of the bit beasts’ battle and the exploding camera damages the bridge’s underside, and debris rains down onto the competitors.  The bit beasts retreat into their blades and return to their bladers.  When the dust clears, Kai sees Dunga has vamoosed.  Furious, Kai roars for Dunga to return and finish their match, but there’s no sign of him.  Another match has ended in a draw.  As the van speeds away, we see Joseph has secretly hitched a ride.

In the warehouse, Ozuma is scolding Dunga for his thoughtless behavior while Miriam watches.  Ozuma grimly decides they must stop Team Psykick.

Cut to Gideon’s HQ.  Slim reports to the doctor that though the van’s equipment was destroyed, the backup disk saved all of Dranzer’s information.  They now have all the data they need to create their Cyber Bit Beasts.
