Shinichi, Migi, and Detective Kuramori follow a parasite to a designated feeding ground. Shinichi and Migi are able to kill the parasite, but they are unable to save the women. After the terrifying incident, Kuramori turns his film over to Migi and tells Shinichi that he is ending his investigation.

The kill in the feeding ground angers Hirokawa's group. They no longer trust Reiko and plan to kill her, Shinichi and anyone else closely associated.

Miki, a hybrid multi-parasite human created by Reiko, is sent to kill Shinichi. Migi senses the danger warning Shinichi. Not wanting anyone else to get hurt, he escapes to the countryside where Miki eventually catches up to him. Now he is in for the fight of his life.
