After Shinichi attempts to help a classmate getting beaten up by three delinquents, their attention shifts to him. A girl about his age who hangs with the group, Kana, notices something different about Shinichi, and develops an attraction towards him. This angers the group's leader, Mitsuo, even more.

During a vicious fight, Shinichi can barely contain Migi. Thankfully, his classmates show up and teach the delinquents a lesson.

Later that evening, Shinichi is horrified to find that his mother has been killed and taken over by a parasite. Unable to bring himself to fight her, he is stabbed through the heart by the woman he cared about most.
