“This isn’t funny!” screamed the hamster running as fast as its tiny legs could carry it. On its tail was a hungry looking fox pup, which looked like it could outrun the energizer bunny.
“Yes it is…” said Inuyasha, who had a big evil grin on his face. After a respectable amount of insults, Kikyo finally spoke up.
“That isn’t really nice Inuyasha.” Said Kikyo in a tone that said that she was also enjoying it, but saying it just because she was supposed to be like that. “You should really help him.” And had a big smile on her face.
The hamster was red faced, and looked like it was about to have a stroke, but Inuyasha still wouldn’t stop it. He said that they couldn’t move any faster, and there he was darting back and forth on the forest floor. When the hamster looked like it was about to croak, Kikyo chanted a quiet chant that made the fox run off to its den; she probably made it bored of the game it was playing.
“Aww, ruin my fun” said Inuyasha disappointedly.
“Take a second look” Kikyo said. Inuyasha looked down to see the hamster still running for its life, as if the pup was still after it.
“Now, this is funny” said Inuyasha and started laughing. The hamster noticed the change of Inuyasha’s laughter, and realized that it was no longer being pursued. When it looked up at its humanoid companions, they started giggling at him. Obviously embarrassed, the hamster started blushing, which made Inuyasha laugh even harder.
Well, this can’t go on for that long, can it? thought the hamster. Unfortunately for it, it was wrong; Inuyasha laughed for ten straight minutes, which even started to annoy Kikyo.
“It’s not that funny!” the hamster finally shrieked (which bordered with squeaked)
“Yes… it… is!” said between cackles. He started to laugh harder and louder, and ended up on the floor and gasping for breath.
“ARRGGGHHHH!!!” the hamster squeaked. It went up to Inuyasha’s foot, climbed it up to the big toe, and bit it.
Birds eye view of forest: “ARGGGHHHHHHH!!!” screamed Inuyasha.
“Hey! What was that for?!” said Inuyasha, and started sucking on his toe.
“Now, that’s funny!” said the hamster, and started to laugh and rolled on its back.
“I think that’s enough…(-_-‘)” Kikyo said, and continued walking along the trail.
“Hey, wait up!” Inuyasha said, and started to chase her.
“Don’t forget me!” said the hamster, and jumped on Inuyasha’s pants. He climbed it up until he reached his right shoulder, and sat there.
“I told you this was faster” Inuyasha said.
“Well, I guess a master can be wrong once in awhile”

“So, how far away is Naraku’s stronghold anyway?” said Inuyasha
“You see that mountain range over there?” said the hamster. He pointed to a chain of evenly leveled mountains, which was broken by a single mountain that happened to be bigger then the rest. It also seemed to be a darker gray then the rest, and seemed to be surrounded by thundering clouds.
“Yeah”
“Well, on the top of the tallest mountain, Naraku has made a fortress. All around the fortress, there is only death and destruction. Scouring the foot of his mountain are armies of demons, just waiting for his command to destroy another village, or sometimes even a town. He hasn’t had possession of the Jewel long enough to do serious damage to the area, but his strength grows everyday, along with his army. That is why it is so important that you two work together and liberate the Jewel from him, so that I can keep any other being from misusing it once again.”
“I didn’t know it had that great a power” Kikyo said darkly. Surrounding the mountain, there was black, the remains of Naraku’s raids. Surrounding the back were patches of black red and green; villages Naraku attacked, was attacking, or would in the future. It was clear that anything that stood in his way had only one fate, total and utter annihilation. But the group was very far away from his darkness, so they didn’t have to worry about meeting him or his goons for some time. They probably had a few weeks of walking to cover before they set foot on that barren land of waste and decadence.
“Ahh!” a voice screamed, as it ran towards the three. It moved so quickly, it crashed into Kikyo’s legs.
“Ahh!” Kikyo said when it registered in her head that something was on her feet.
“Ahh!” the creature screamed again when it saw what it crashed into. Then the rumbling of a pack of some kind of forest animal could be heard. “Ahh!” it screamed again, and clung onto Kikyo’s legs. Inuyasha was about to shred it, but Kikyo stopped him.
“Wait Inuyasha, I think this poor thing was being attacked by whatever those are”
“Yeah, they are. I was minding my own business getting some berries from a bush when they just chased me for no reason.” Said the small, boyish voice. The snarling of what were definitely demon-monkeys could be heard, and their red eyes illuminated the area. The creature was even more frightened, and it clung onto Kikyo harder, and hid its face in them, probably hoping the beasts would disappear.
“Those things are demons!” Kikyo warned.
“How do you know?” said Inuyasha, as he slashed one that tried to leap on Kikyo.
“I ran into them earlier” she said. The whole pack decided it would be better for them to attack at once, and tightened the ring they had around them. Then they stopped, and started snarling and howling and trying to intimidating the four. The hamster and creature clung on a bit tighter. The ranting and raving grew until it became ear piercing. Suddenly, one of them shrieked, and they all leapt to attack.
Kikyo started chanting, and an invisible shield protected them form the demons’ assault, while Inuyasha wiped them out with his Iron Reaver Soul Stealer in clusters. When the monkeys were terminated, Kikyo stopped chanting, and her hair stopped floating.
“That wasn’t that bad” Inuyasha said.
“Thank you guys, SO SO much!” said the creature and hugged the legs of Kikyo and Inuyasha.
“Get off me you fur ball” said Inuyasha, and kicked the creature off.
“He hurt me!” the creature cried, pointing at Inuyasha.
“There, there. Inuyasha didn’t mean to hurt you. He just can’t stand anything cute or cuddly.” Said Kikyo, and started calming the child down.
“But he has that hamster on his shoulder” the child complained.
“What hamster?” Inuyasha demanded. He looked at both shoulders and saw it on his right one; then he flicked him off.
“Thanks a lot kid” said the hamster when it regained it composure from its rough landing.
“What’s your name?” Kikyo asked it tenderly.
“My name is Shippo. I’m a fox demon” he said, done crying.
“Well Shippo, is there anywhere we should take you?”
“My den is in that direction. Can you take me back in case the monkeys attack again?”
“Sure” said Kikyo, and gave him a warm smile. They all walked to the fox’s den, not paying heed to the hamster’s warning that time was of the essence, and they couldn’t waste time on such trivial matters.
“We are wasting valuable time!” the hamster said as a final plea as they approached the fox’s den.
“Something’s not right” said Inuyasha as he sniffed the air.
“No!” Shippo said as he ran to his den. “NOOO!!!” he screamed.
“What happened?” Kikyo asked.
“Nothing good” said Inuyasha as he went on guard. Shippo stayed in there for what must have been half an hour. Sure that something was seriously wrong, Kikyo went in to see if she could help.
“They killed them all…” Shippo said, still crying.
“I-I don’t know what I can say” Kikyo said. Shippo started crying hard again, and Kikyo reached for him to hug and comfort him. The two were in there for hours. By the time they were ready to get out, it was sunset, and Inuyasha had a campfire burning. There was a pot with something brewing inside, and the hamster was telling him what to do from his right shoulder.
“It’s almost done, so take it away from the fire or it will ruin.” He said.
“Alright” Inuyasha said.
“Its nice to see you two acting nice to each other.” Kikyo said. She had Shippo sleeping in her arms, so when she arrived, she lay him on the ground and put him in a comfortable position. He had held onto Kikyos hand for comfort, so when she let go, his hand contracted and grabbed a clump of grass.
“It may look nasty, but its not that bad” Inuyasha said.
“All my food tastes great” the hamster gloated.
“I was talking about you” Inuyasha teased, and he stuck his tongue out at him. The hamster poured a spoonful of soup onto his tongue.
“Hot, hot!” Inuyasha said alarmingly, and tried to cool it down.
“I see that Inuyasha let you back on his shoulder again” Kikyo said pleasantly, as Inuyasha passed her a bowl of soup.
“We’ve reached an understanding.” The hamster said. The three enjoyed the soup and went to sleep; the hamster cuddled up to a sleeping Shippo, while Kikyo cuddled up to an awkward feeling Inuyasha.
