*Disclaimer* I do not own InuYasha or any of the original characters. I do, however, own some of them. Do not steal them! If I find out that you have, you will not be the happiest person on Earth. Just ask if you want to use them (it isn’t that hard!!!)
*Prologue*
About fifteen years ago...
“But Father-” “No buts. You have to go. It’s the only way to stop this! Just remember that your mother will be there Sakura.” The girl fell silent at her father’s words. ‘I know you’re right’, Sakura thought, ‘But I don’t want to lose you.’ “You’ll be fine”, her father said. He sat down and she sat next to him. “But what if I fail”, Sakura wondered out loud, “Will I ever be able to see you again?” “You won’t fail”, her father said, “Not if you trust in everything you know.” “How long do I have to stay”, Sakura asked. “I don’t know”, her father answered, “But it won’t be long. I promise. Stay for a little bit and then come back.” “What if I’m not done”, Sakura asked, “Will you be mad?” “Of course not”, her father said hugging her, “I only ask that you do your best.” Sakura lay against her father. ‘I can’t do this’, she thought, ‘I’m too young.’
Sakura was a demon just like her father. She had hazel eyes that sparkled consistently. She wore blood red robes that hung loosely on her. She had slight dark sky blue hair with small “dog” ears that stuck out of the top of her head. She resembled her mother according to her father. Her mother was a priestess, a human. Her father was a demon, the Lord of the Western Lands. She was energetic and had an enormous fighting spirit. She had a very short patience span and was quick and rash to act.
Sakura begged her father to tell her the story again. Her father sighed. “How many times have I told you that one”, her father asked. “I lost count a long time ago”, Sakura said, “Please?” Sakura did her usual glossy-eye-about-to-cry-if-you-don’t look. Her father looked at her hazel eyes and gave in. “This will be the last time”, her father said. Sakura sat across from her father and waited. “This happened a long time ago”, her father began, “I was in the middle of trouble, as usual. I got into a very tight and painful spot. Your mother saved me. I wasn’t in the best of moods that day and almost killed her.” Sakura gasped even though she knew the story by heart. “Did you hit her?” “No. I was stopped before I could do any damage.” “What happened after that?” “As time progressed, we began to fall in love. That’s the end.” The wall behind Sakura blew toward her. Her father rushed over and shielded her with his body.
“I would have to agree with that”, a voice said. A shadow of a person appeared. Sakura popped out from underneath the rubble. Her father appeared in front of her. “What’s going on”, Sakura asked fearfully. “Go to the well”, her father instructed her, “Take it with you.” “But why”, Sakura protested. “Just go”, her father said, “You’ll be better off there.” “Trying to buy time for your daughter to live”, the shadow said, “She’ll be next to die. That is after I’m done with you.” “I can tell you’re a demon”, her father said, “Why don’t you just come out now?” “Very well”, the demon said. She stepped out of the dust. The demon had long silver hair that seemed to glow. She wore a suit of black armor and at her side was a sword. Her golden eyes were full of hate and anger. “I should have known”, her father said, “What do you want this time, Yuki?” “I came for my father’s revenge”, Yuki said. “And you didn’t bring Byoku with you”, her father asked, “How strange.” “That is none of your business”, Yuki said. They began to fight hand-to-hand.
Sakura ran outside and toward the well. “Ice Serpent”, a voice called behind her, “I command you to come forth.” Sakura felt something wrap around her and lift her into the air. “Hello Sakura”, someone said. She looked up. Standing before her was another demon. He wore midnight black robes. His silver hair seemed to stand out against his robes. He had dark purple eyes. Sakura recognized him. “B..Byoku”, Sakura said. She smiled. “Is it you Byoku?” “Yes”, the boy said. “Why did you come here”, Sakura asked him. The young demon frowned. “You need to go”, Byoku said, “And I thought you would need a helper.” “You’re coming with me”, Sakura asked. Byoku nodded. “Are you ready to go”, Byoku asked. Sakura smiled and nodded. Her small fangs glistened in the sunlight. The serpent disappeared and Byoku and Sakura ran to the well inside the forest. “My stuff’s already there”, Sakura said. “Then let’s go”, Byoku said.
Before they could take a step, an explosion came from where the Sakura’s father and Yuki were fighting. They both appeared in the sky, rocketing from the ground. They landed where the edge of the forest used to be. “Byoku”, Sakura’s father said, “What are you doing with Sakura?” “He’s on my side”, Yuki said, “He’s going to take Sakura for a little trip. To Hell.” “No”, Byoku said softly, “I’m done with all of the fighting. I’m going to help Sakura.” “Since when did you turn so nice”, her father asked. “Traitor”, Yuki said, “I will kill you as well.” She ran towards them. Her sword was glowing with energy. “You shall die for your treachery”, Yuki said. She waved her sword toward them and a huge wave of energy flew out to them. “JUMP”, Byoku said. He picked up Sakura and jumped into the well.
They were thrown around inside from the shaking of the earth. Byoku was hit on the head hard by a tree branch that fell from Yuki’s attack. He dropped Sakura as he went unconscious. “Byoku”, Sakura yelled. She landed safely on the bottom. Byoku fell next to her. Tons of dirt, rocks, and tree branches fell on top of them. Sakura tried getting over to her friend, but was also knocked unconscious. “Byoku”, Sakura whispered as she fell into the wide sea of darkness.
