Inuyasha: The Prophecies
By: Guardian Angel
Chapter Thirteen
“I’m bored,” Albert said.
“Ditto,” Sharon said.
“Where’s Nina?” Albert asked.
“Like I know,” Sharon said.
“Why?” Albert asked.
“Because if you start that up again, I’ll hurt you because, unlike Max, I can be exactly like Inukai, so be quiet,” Sharon said.
“Hmph, you’re just a big meanie, just like Inukai,” Albert said crossing his arms and pouting.
Sharon frowned. “Whatever.”
Inukai sneezed as he continued looking at the gray clouds where the airplane Nina had been on was. He sighed not caring who was talking about him at the moment. I probably deserve being called whatever by whoever is talking about me.
Seth let out a low growl, went over to his brother, and lifted him up by the hair.
“Ow, ow, ow! Seth let go!” Inukai cried.
Seth released his hold on Inukai’s hair and crossed his arms. “Inukai, really, come on. You’re on a plane, son of Naraku, can’t you put two and two together?”
Inukai went into an Inuyasha pose and looked away. “Of course I can put two and two together. It equals four.”
“Inukai, are you that stupid?! Listen to me, if you want to get to that girl, you’re going to have to pilot this stupid thing,” Seth said grabbing Inukai by one of his ears.
Inukai let out a yelp, something he rarely does. “Let go. Let go! LET GO! Damn it! That HURTS!”
Seth reluctantly released the half demon’s ear and crossed his arms again. “Now do you see?”
Inukai nodded massaging his ear.
Nina left her airplane and went over to a taxi once she was outside the airport. Soon, a taxi pulled up to her. In it was a boy she swore she knew, but decided not to ask as soon as she was inside the taxi.
“Where to?” the young red haired man asked.
“To the Tokyo apartments on Sunset Road,” Nina said looking out the window.
The boy nodded and began driving in that direction. “You know, you look oddly familiar. Have we met before?”
Nina looked towards the boy in surprise. If he recognizes me and I recognize him, then that means I do know him! “Uhh, yeah. Maybe. Probably. Umm, so, what’s your name?”
“Shippo,” the boy said. “You?”
Nina’s eyes widened and was quickly replaced by joyful filled eyes as a smile made its way to her lips. “Oh, my gosh, Shippo! It’s me, Nina.”
“Nina?” Shippo asked his eyes widening.
Nina nodded then remembered he couldn’t see her and said, “Yeah. That’s me.”
Shippo smiled. “Where have you been all this time? Don’t tell me some stupid demon made you their slave and Inukai or Inuyasha didn’t bother to save you and you had to escape all the way here in hopes of escaping that stupid evil creepy insensitive jerk of a demon.”
Nina shook her head as her smile slowly left her face. She looked out the window sadly. “No, Shippo. I’m not here because of that because it never happened. I came here… for old times sake.”
Shippo nodded not believing a word she said, but decided not to pry and continued driving.
Inukai and Seth entered the cockpit and stared down at the two human pilots.
“There’s going to be a change in plans,” Inukai said showing a clawed hand.
Seth just watched the humans dully.
The humans’ faces were filled with fear.
“S-sir, we have a scheduled flight and y-you should go sit back down in the passenger seats for your own safety,” one of the pilots said.
Inukai let out a low growl. “Do you realize who you’re speaking to? I am Inukai, son of Lord Naraku. And I suggest you listen to me unless you want to lose your heads.”
The humans exchanged glances, nodded, and left. Seth and Inukai took their seats.
Inukai smirked. Life is good when you’re related to the king.
“Well, here we are,” Shippo said pulling up the taxi in front of the apartments that had at least seven stories in each.
Nina smiled and got out of the car she then went over to Shippo’s window. “So, how much do I owe you?”
“None,” Shippo said. “It’s on the house.”
Nina smiled and nodded. “Thanks, Shippo.”
“No problem,” Shippo said. “Well, I gotta go. Sayonara.” Shippo drove off with Nina waving goodbye to him.
Nina turned around to face the apartment and entered it. She then went over to the counter where an oddly familiar looking white haired man sat. “Hi! I’m Nina and I applied for this apartment. So, umm, what number is my room and I, umm, kind of need the keys.”
The man looked up at her and grabbed the keys from behind him. “You’re room number is 4B which is on the fourth floor.” He handed the keys to her.
Nina nodded and turned to leave when the white haired man muttered something that caught her attention.
“Inuyasha, you can’t do anything right, can you. I let you and your woman go to protect her and she turns up here of all places,” the man muttered. “Rin and I could’ve done a better job than you two, but no, you insisted I let you two do it and I did and it doesn’t look like you’re doing a very good job.”
Nina turned around to face the man, her eyes widening. She gasped and put a hand over her mouth. “Se-Sesshomaru!”
The man nodded.
Nina smiled and ran over to the dog demon then hugged him. “I’ve missed you so much.”
Sesshomaru looked down at the girl in surprise. “What are you doing?”
“Hugging you, duh,” Nina said smiling and looking up at him. “Besides, I haven’t seen my great, great, great, really great half uncle for a long time.”
“A year isn’t a long time,” Sesshomaru said. At least for her, it wasn’t a long time. Sesshomaru, on the other hand, had to wait for some five hundred years before he could see Nina again then had to wait another year when she turned fifteen since he and the others didn’t want to change the past even though Naraku succeeded in doing that.
“Well, maybe not for you, but it is for me,” Nina said backing up and putting her hands on her hips.
Sesshomaru sighed and shook his head. “Nina, please go up to your room. I’m going to go on my break in a while and when I do, Rin and I will go to see you.”
Nina nodded, waved goodbye, and went to her room. She sighed when she saw how empty it was. Why didn’t I go to the mall or something first? She then looked down at her clothes. “I can’t wear these every day.” She nodded. “Yep. It’s time to go shopping.”
Inukai put the steering wheel into autopilot. He then lied back with his hands behind his head. He closed his eyes and rested his feet on the steering wheel. “Are we there yet?”
“No,” Seth said watching his eyes at what Inukai did.
“Now?”
“No.”
“Now.”
Seth sighed. Today was going to be a long day.
Nina grabbed Sesshomaru and Rin’s hands dragging them into the mall. Rin followed smiling while Sesshomaru followed somewhat reluctantly. First place they all went to was the clothes section. Sesshomaru rolled his eyes, crossed his arms, and leaned against the wall.
Typical. Girls always go to the clothes first of all things, Sesshomaru thought.
Nina and Rin picked out all kinds of clothes that they found were cute, pretty, and just good looking. Rin even picked out some clothes for herself. Soon, the two girls were done picking out the clothes they wanted and ran over to Sesshomaru. Sesshomaru sighed and paid for the clothes. The two girls then dragged him to the furniture section. Sesshomaru let out another sigh. Today was going to be a long day.
“I’m still bored,” Albert muttered.
“Okay. We heard you the first time,” Sharon said through gritted teeth obviously annoyed with the little cat demon.
“Yeah,” Max muttered also annoyed with Albert.
“Guys, he’s only a little kid. He doesn’t know any better,” Anna said.
“He should,” Sharon said.
“Yeah. He has to be at least five hundred something years old,” Max said.
“So, he should be acting his age instead of the age he looks like,” Sharon said.
Anna rolled her eyes while Albert pouted.
“Whatever,” Anna said.
“Hmph, yeah, well, when I tell Nina how you two were mean to me, you’ll regret you ever were,” Albert said.
“Oh, really?” Max asked looking at Albert from the corner of his eye.
“You want to repeat that?” Sharon asked bringing up a fist.
Albert gulped then remembered there was one more person he could run to. “Kagome!”
Naraku frowned. “Are you telling me that both, Seth and Inukai, are gone?”
Kagura nodded. “Yes, and I believe I know where they went to.”
“Which would be?” Naraku asked knowing the answer already.
“They’re heading to Tokyo, Japan,” Kagura said.
Naraku sighed. Knew it. “Summon Nekono and Nekaira.”
Kagura nodded and left. A few minutes later, she came back with the two neko demons following her.
“What is it?!” Nekaira asked clearly upset about something. “Whatever it is, it had better be good.”
Naraku raised an eyebrow, but decided not to ask. “My two sons, the dog demon ones, have ran off to Japan, Tokyo to be more precise. And I want you two to bring them back, dead or alive is up to you.”
The two neko demons nodded and left.
Meanwhile, Alendria, who was hiding behind a corner, heard all of this and look of puzzlement and concern filled her eyes and face. Seth, why would you go to Japan? And why with your brother? What are you two planning on doing?
“Now are we there?” Inukai asked.
“Almost,” Seth muttered.
“Really?” Inukai asked sitting up opening his eyes.
“Yes,” Seth said becoming annoyed.
“Heh, then Nina better get ready ‘cause I’m not letting her outta my sight ever again,” Inukai said.
Seth raised an eyebrow. “And, tell me, how are you going to get her back? I’m sure she’s not going to just come back to you just like that just because you went to get her.”
Inukai sighed and looked out the window. “I dunno what I’ll say, but I’ll get her back somehow.” I hope.
Sesshomaru pushed the last of their stuff into the back seats and trunk of his SUV. He closed the door and let out a sigh. Finally, I got all that stuff in there. Now we can go home.
Rin and Nina came from the mall carrying two brown bags and three sodas. Sesshomaru, Rin, and Nina entered the SUV. Sesshomaru started the vehicle and looked towards Rin.
“What’s in there?” Sesshomaru asked indicating to the brown bags.
“Large fries, two medium fries, a large turkey sandwich, a medium bacon cheeseburger, and a medium ultimate cheeseburger,” Rin said.
“In other words, you got us food from Jack in the Box and Burger King,” Sesshomaru said as he pulled the SUV back. Soon, he was driving them back to the apartments while they began eating the food.
“I hate dog demons,” Nekaira muttered. “I was in the middle of putting my makeup on when that stupid baboon ‘summoned’ us. I mean, really, the guy can’t even control his own family and yet he can control millions of demons and humans. If they knew that he had little control over Inukai and Seth, the whole town, no, the whole world wouldn’t listen to him anymore.”
Nekono sighed and put a hand over his wife’s. “Don’t worry about it. We’ll have him soon and when we do, he’ll regret he ever killed off our tribe.”
Nina waved goodbye to Sesshomaru and Rin as they drove home and went up to her room. Sesshomaru and Rin had helped her put all her furniture, clothes, and so on forth away. She sighed and went over to her bed. Her bed had red silky covers as well as silky red sheets and pillowcases. She sat down on it and looked out her window that had white curtains tied on the side with green ribbons. Okay. So, I’ve bumped into about everyone except Sota.
Just then she heard someone shouting.
“Stay away from me, you creep!” a boy’s voice shouted.
Nina left her room and went into the hall room to see a black head boy shouting at a dinosaur looking demon.
“I am not going to be your slave! I don’t care what the stupid rule was! I’d rather stick with the one that was here a year ago! Now back off!” the teenaged boy cried.
“You are mine rather you like it or not,” the demon said.
Nina watched the two curiously when the scene began to change. She soon found herself in a dark alley. The cloud was cloudy and she felt the cold wind go pass her. She then saw a girl stop as the alley was a dead end and turned around to see… the dinosaur demon! The demon raised a clawed hand and went in for the kill. The girl screamed. Nina looked away as she heard the demon slice through the girl.
She shuddered. Why am I being shown this? I don’t want to see such a thing. Nina then looked up as the scene disappeared and brought her back to reality. Her eyes widened when she saw the dinosaur bring up its clawed hand.
~*Flashback*~
A girl ran up to Nina as she and Anna were being pestered by Max and were heading towards the lunch area.
“Hey! Did you two hear?” the girl asked.
“Hear what?” Anna asked shooting a glare at Max.
“That Elena was killed by a demon,” the girl said.
Nina let out a gasp as Anna and Max gave her a confused look.
“Who’s Elena?” Max and Anna asked in unison.
“Elena is one of the most popular girls in all of the school. She’s a bit of a snob, but she’s really cool,” the girl said. “Anyway, Juan, Jenny, and Eduardo went to get her body and Juan came back and told me that her body was found ripped to shreds.”
“What?!” Nina asked. “Do they know what kind of demon it was?”
The girl shook her head. “All they know is that it must’ve had long sharp claws and fangs due to how horribly ripped her body was.”
Nina, Anna, and Max nodded.
~*End Flashback*~
Nina’s hands turned to fists as she began biting her lower lip. I won’t let that creep get away with what he’s done. The demon’s claw came closer to the boy. Nina quickly ran up to the demon and grabbed its clawed hand. The demon looked at her as surprise filled its face.
“Back off or I just might have to hurt you,” Nina said giving the demon a dark look.
The demon growled. “Stay out of this, half breed.”
Nina smirked. “That’s priestess half breed to you.”
“What?!” the demon asked.
Nina’s hand began glowing as her eyes began glowing pink. “You will leave him and all others alone!” The light left her hand and began shattering the demon’s clawed hand, arm, and, soon, his whole entire body. As soon as he was nothing, but dust, Nina took her hand away from the demon’s left over hand and dropped it letting it turn into dust as well. She then turned to face the boy as her eyes turned back to normal. She smiled and held out her hand. “Hi. My name’s Nina.”
“Sota,” the boy said.
Nina’s eyes widened. Sota! She smiled and led Sota to her room and held out the Shikon Jewel for him to touch so he could regain all his memories then began explaining everything that had happened to her since she made the wish on the Shikon no Tama.
Soon, Inukai and Seth landed the airplane, left the plane, and left the airport.
“So, where did you say she was going?” Inukai asked trying to catch Nina’s scent in the air.
“I said, she was going to Tokyo and, as you can see, we’re in Kyoto,” Seth said.
Inukai cursed. That’s why I don’t smell her scent. “Well, what are you waiting for? We gotta get to Tokyo.”
Inukai and Seth quickly called for a taxi and asked for the driver to take them to the train station.
Nina, I won’t lose you. I refuse to lose you. I need you. Don’t you understand? Inukai thought.
“Hmm, I see, but why did you leave?” Sota asked once Nina was done explaining everything to Sota except for a few things such as the change in her and Inukai’s relationship then skipping a few romantic moments and skipping what had happened between her and Inukai in Naraku’s mansion and outside in the garden.
Nina sighed and looked down at her hands that were rested in her lap. “I… I left because, well, Naraku obviously lives there and… he’s mainly after me so he’ll follow me and the others won’t be in danger.” Well, I just thought of that now, but I doubt Naraku knows I’m here, but just in case, I suppose it was for the better.
Sota nodded. “I’ve missed my sister a lot. How is she?”
“Oh. Kagome’s great. And so are Inuyasha and the others,” Nina said.
Sota nodded. “Umm, I don’t have anywhere to stay, so, could I kind of… stay here with you?”
“Of course,” Nina said smiling. “After all, you got to be like my cousin or uncle or something since I’m related to Kagome and all.”
Sota nodded. “Okay. Well, where do I get to stay?”
“Well, I have a little guest room you can stay in. And don’t worry. It’s not really that girly. I mean, I was planning on, well, that’s if I stay here that long, but, I was planning on saving that room for my, umm, well, children. Of course, I still have to complete school and all and then get a job plus get married and all once I find the right guy and I’d have to actually be here that long and…Well, you can stay in there if you want and make it into your own little room. I don’t mind if you redecorate it or whatever,” Nina said as she tried to get rid of the deep red blush that had spread across her face because of what she had told Sota about the children and the room. But there’s still the matter of the right guy that actually loves me for me and not because he thinks I’m his ex. Her blush disappeared and was replaced by anger when she though this. That ungrateful little-
“Nina? Are you okay?” Sota asked raising an eyebrow.
“Huh? Oh. Yeah. Of course. Don’t worry about it. I just, uhh, have homework to do. So, see ya,” Nina said running into her room. Sheesh. I’m starting to be all rude and all. This is all Inukai’s fault. His rudeness is rubbing onto me.
Inukai and Seth walked of the train and quickly left the subway.
Nina, I’ll find you soon. And when I do, I’ll take you back and… Stuff! Inukai thought unable to think of anything heroic to actually think of.
