Inuyasha: The Prophecies

Chapter Ten
The concert was drawing nearer and Sharon and Anna already knew what song they were going to perform at the concert. They also knew Nina knew the words by heart and didn’t really need to practice, but they also didn’t want to bother her due to her gloomy mood. They sighed as they saw Nina was still hanging out in the tree looking off into space totally oblivious to what was going around her.
“We should really try to get her out of that depression she’s in,” Anna muttered.
Sharon nodded. “I know, but how? We’ve tried almost every trick in the book.”
Anna let out a defeated sigh. “I know, but there’s got to be something we can do.”
Inukai got up from his bed, went over to his closet, and grabbed out his favorite guitar. It wasn’t like the one he usually used since this one had belonged to his mother. He slightly smiled. His mother had been a rock star. That was how she had met Naraku. It was when she was at a concert. He closed his eyes as he began to imagine how the two had met. He then quickly opened his eyes when he realized something. My mother was from the Feudal Era! Did Dad somehow go back in time and bring her here? He shook his head and examined the guitar.
The guitar was painted a smooth glossy red color. It had green vines that were painted around the strings all the way to the end of it. At the end of the vines at the top were light pink cherry blossoms.
Inukai put the guitar back in its black case and grabbed out another black case. He opened this one to reveal a different guitar.
This guitar was painted black and had light blue as well as dark blue flames painted on it.
Inukai let out a sigh. Thai guitar had been his father’s. His father hadn’t used it much so it still looked as though it was brand new. Inukai frowned. Naraku hadn’t played much because he was too busy thinking up ways to take over the part of the world he hadn’t taken yet. Now he had complete control of the world and still didn’t play his guitar. Inukai smirked. He has control of the whole entire world except underneath the roads. He then looked out the window. I’ll meet you at the concert, Nina. Just you wait.
Nina let out what must’ve been the fortieth sigh that day. Inukai, where are you? I need you. She shook her head. Look at me. If Inukai saw me right now, he would call me a puppy that can’t stand being away from its mother for even one second. Her face turned to a look of determination. That’s it. No more moping around. She jumped off the tree branch and landed gracefully on her feet. She then ran over to Anna and Sharon who were in the garage rehearsing for their concert they were having the day after today.
Anna and Sharon were about to begin to play another song when they saw Nina. Their eyes widened in surprise.
“What is it?” Anna asked.
“Did Inukai come back or something?” Sharon asked.
Nina shook her head. “Let’s just begin practice.”
The two girls nodded and began practicing starting off with I Am. Unbeknownst to them; Inukai was also practicing for the concert that same very moment also starting off with I Am.
“So then you’re saying it’s Inukai’s fault that Nina’s going to turn evil?” Inuyasha asked finally finishing his ramen.
“No, I’m saying that if Nina keeps being negative about everything, the jewel will make her heart fill with darkness,” Kagome said. “She’ll turn evil and we may lose her if that happens.”
“And we won’t ‘cause I won’t lose her, Kagome,” Inuyasha said. “We both know we can’t afford for that to happen.”
“I know,” Kagome said and looked out the window.
Nina woke up the next morning and went over to her closet. She grabbed out a light purple kimono with yellow flowers and light green vines all over it. She put it on then put on a yellow belt. She then grabbed her brush and put her hair up in a ponytail with a yellow ribbon. She left two strands of hair hanging down in the front. She then put on her white socks and put on Japanese style sandals. After putting on light pink lip-gloss, she left her room and went over to Anna and Sharon.
Anna was wearing a blood red kimono that had white flowers on it, a white belt, white socks, and Japanese style sandals. She had her hair down and wore a white headband. The sheath of her sword hung loosely on her belt.
Sharon wore a black shirt that was just like Inuyasha’s and black pants that were also like Inuyasha’s. She was barefoot and her blonde hair covered part of her face. Her sword hung loosely on her side. She smiled as she crossed her arms.
“You ready?” Sharon asked.
Nina nodded.
“You sure you want to do this?” Anna asked.
“Yes, I’m sure,” Nina said. “It’s the only thing that I can think of that can make them see the light.” It’s also the only way I could think of to see Inukai for one last time.
“Then you had better bring your bow and arrows,” Anna said. “Just to be safe.”
Nina sighed and nodded. She quickly ran into her room, grabbed her bow and quiver filled with many arrows, and put them on her back. She then ran out of her room and went over to her friends. All three of them began going towards where they were holding their concert.
Inukai grabbed the sheath of Tsugerio and tied it around his belt. He then looked towards the window and went over to it. He opened it and looked towards where Nina and her friends were having their concert. Nina, hang on until I get there.
Nina, Anna, and Sharon went onto the stage getting ready to play the song they were going to perform. White light shun on all three of them. Nina gulped as she looked at the audience. She noted that most of them were demons.
Well, duh, that’s to be expected. After all, we’re not underground anymore, Nina thought. Her eyes widened when she saw one of the demons jump at her and into her arms surprising her even more. “D-do I know you?”
The demon looked up at her. “Nina, don’t you remember me?”
Nina looked into the demon’s eyes then realized who the demon was. She quickly embraced the demon. “Oh, Albert-chan, I’ve missed you so much.”
“So have I, Nina-chan,” Albert said.
“Our concert’s going to start soon,” Nina said. “So go hang out in the back until it’s over, ‘kay.”
Albert nodded, jumped out of her arms, and ran behind the curtains.
Nina smiled as she watched the little cat demon leave. He hasn’t even grown an inch, has he? He’s just like I remember.
A pig looking demon then walked onto the stage in front of Anna, Sharon, and Nina. “And now to present, The Shikon no Tama.”
The audience cheered.
Nina felt a shiver go down her spine when she realized that most of the demons were looking her way and to be more specific, were looking at the Shikon Jewel that was around her neck. She gulped as the lights grew brighter. Anna and Sharon then slammed on their guitars as the chorus began.
I want to change the world
Piercing through the gales, unafraid of

If we reach out to the soaring future

Nina looked around nervously when she saw that Inukai wasn’t around as the chorus ended.

Life.

And so we awaken…
Nina continued looking around for any sign of Inukai as the chorus began. Her eyes widened when she heard a new voice begin to sing. She turned around to see Inukai and smiled. He also smiled, went over to her, and began singing with her, Anna, and Sharon as he played his guitar.
I want to change the world
I won’t hesitate again. If I can shape a
Future with you,
Then I can fly anywhere.
Change my mind
I can spread my wings and fly towards the
Unknown future
Without losing my passion.
It’s wonderland
Nina and Inukai smiled at each other as the chorus ended. The two then began to sing the next lines.
We keep swimming the same world
Until the day we reach our dreams.
All of us bear the same worries
When you stop and look, I’ll be right here
Gazing at you.
Nina and Inukai did just as the last line said as the chorus began.

If you accept my gaze as I watch over you

Let’s pierce our way through whatever may

Nina and Inukai looked towards each other out of the corner of the their eyes as they got ready for the final part of the chorus.

Nina and Inukai continued smiling as the song ended. Anna and Sharon rolled their eyes, but smiled.
“It’s about time he came,” Anna whispered to Sharon.
“Umm-hmm,” Sharon said nodding.
The audience burst into applause. A demon then stepped onto the stage and grabbed the microphone from Nina.
“Hey! Give that back!” Nina protested as she tried to take the microphone back. She then crossed her arms and muttered, “You could’ve at least asked to use it.”
The demon ignored her and began speaking. “How can you enjoy a performance done by these four? Doesn’t the name to their band tell you who what they have? Don’t you all see what these four are? You’re clapping to a human demon exterminator, a one-third fox demon, dog demon, and human, and two half-dog demons. One, which happens to also be a priestess and carries the Jewel of Four Souls.”
The audience looked at Inukai, Nina, Anna, and Sharon wide eyed. They then let out low growls. They were about to jump at the band when…
“Leave them to us,” a voice suddenly said.
Everyone looked up to see Kagura, Kanna, all of the Shichinintai (except Mukotsu), and Kyle.
Inukai growled and put his hand over the hilt of Tsugerio. “What do you want?!”
“There is a very simple answer to your very simple question,” Bankotsu said and pointed his halberd in Nina’s direction. “We want the Shikon no Tama.”
“Never in your life,” Inukai said unsheathing his blade.
Sharon and Anna grabbed out their swords while Nina took her bow off her back, grabbed out an arrow, and took aim.
Albert let out a yelp of fear and ran over to Nina. Nina looked down at the little cat demon then turned her attention back on her target determined to hit.
I have to protect Albert, Nina thought. She looked towards Inukai as he put himself between her and their opponents.
“Stay behind me and don’t leave my side, got it,” Inukai said not taking his eyes from the Shichinintai, Kagura, and Kanna.
Nina nodded and turned her attention back on the person she was aiming her arrow at, which happened to be Bankotsu.
Bankotsu smirked and crossed his arms. “Heh, I knew that wench wasn’t really your slave. In fact, I had no idea that you made her your mate.”
“Mate?” Nina asked her eyes widening as her face turned a deep shade of red.
“You haven’t even told her yet, have you?” Bankotsu asked smirking even more.
Inukai let out a low growl. “Shut up, you filthy bastard!”
Bankotsu glared daggers at Inukai. “Speak for yourself, hanyou. At least I had a father that actually cared for me.”
Before Inukai could respond to the insult, Nina released her arrow and began shouting Bankotsu.
“How dare you say such a thing! You bad guys are all the same! Inconsiderate, insensitive, manipulating monsters!” Nina shouted. “You all play with people’s hearts not caring how it makes them feel! You’re all cold hearted creeps!”
Bankotsu watched Nina as well as her glowing arrow as it drew closer. Her priestess powers seemed to have grown stronger due to her anger. He pointed his halberd at the arrow as dark energy surrounded it. Demons will continue to rule this planet. I will not allow a priestess hanyou to take this away from us. He then softly said in a threatening yet calm evil voice, “Die, half breed.” He shot the black energy out of his halberd at Nina and her arrow.
Nina paid no attention to Bankotsu and watched her arrow determinedly.
Inukai looked towards Nina then at Bankotsu’s attack. He then quickly pushed Nina out of the way just in time as he held the energy back with his sword.
Nina looked towards Inukai as her eyes widened. Albert ran into her arms. She held him as worry made its way to her face.
Inukai held back the attack gritting his teeth. He felt the strength of the attack begin to overpower his own defense and soon crashed into the wall.
“Inukai!” Nina cried as her eyes widened even more. She quickly stood up and ran over to Inukai as the dust and debris began to clear. She soon spotted Inukai and quickly ran to his side. She put a hand on his arm. “Inukai, are you all right?”
Inukai let out a low
growl as he wiped blood away from his lip. “Yeah. I’m just fine.”
The two then stood up as Albert sat down on
Nina’s shoulder.
“H-he tried to kill us,” Albert said looking towards Bankotsu and tightening his grip on Nina’s hair.
“Ow, Albert, that hurts,” Nina said putting the little cat demon back in her arms. She could sense Albert’s fear and realized it was because of her demon side. But I could never sense stuff like this before.
That is because you heart is becoming so dark that you’re becoming in tune with your demon side and losing your humanity, the same dark voice said.
Nina shook her head ignoring the voice. Now is not the time to speak with it. I’m too busy.
Inukai began charging at Bankotsu. As if on cue, Bankotsu began charging after Inukai while Sharon charged after Renkotsu getting ready to use Sesshomaru’s golden whip like attack, Renkotsu got ready to throw fire at her, Anna went after Jakotsu as he got ready to throw his swords at her.
I’ll take care of Kagura, Nina thought as she looked towards Kagura. She put Albert down beside her.
Kagura spotted Nina aiming an arrow at her. She smirked. “So, you want to play, huh? Very well.” She used her Dance of the Wind Blades as Nina released her arrow.
Sharon used her golden whip like attack. Renkotsu countered it with his fire. Sharon then used her foxfire.
Anna ducked and jumped over Jakotsu’s blades. Jakotsu then put a hand behind his back and grabbed out a hidden sword. He then threw it. Anna quickly blocked it with her sword. She then reached into her belt and grabbed out a dagger. She threw it at Jakotsu.
Inukai jumped up and got ready to go in for the kill. Bankotsu blocked his attack with his halberd. Inukai let out a low growl while Bankotsu smirked.
“What’s the matter, hanyou?” Bankotsu asked. “I thought you were stronger than this. Don’t tell me you became weak.”
“Heh, I could say the same to you,” Inukai said.
Albert hid behind Nina as the “blades” hit Nina’s arrow.
“Oh, no!” Nina cried as the “blades” cut the arrow in half. Her eyes widened. How can that be? My arrow is purer than Kagura’s attack.
How many times must I say this? The dark voice asked. Your heart is filled with darkness causing you to lose your purity.
Shut up, Nina thought. I am NOT speaking to you. She quickly ran to the side picking up Albert as she went, dodging Kagura’s attack.
Kagura glared at her. “Be a good girl and die!” She used her Dance of the Wind Blades.
Inukai and Bankotsu let out battle cries as their weapons clashed. The two let out low growls as they glared into each other’s eyes. Bankotsu then smirked and ducked as Inukai swung his blade at him. Bankotsu quickly swung his halberd at Inukai’s feet. Inukai jumped up, but part of the halberd got his foot causing him to trip and fall on his back. Bankotsu went over to him and pointed his halberd at Inukai’s throat. He smirked even more.
“Looks like I get to kill you,” Bankotsu said. He then looked towards Nina as she dodged Kagura’s “blades” again. He then turned his attention back on Inukai. “And once you’re dead, your wench is as good as mine.”
Inukai let out a low growl.
Sharon and Renkotsu pushed against their flames trying to make the other give in. Sharon took one hand away from the flames and used her golden whip like attack slashing at Renkotsu’s hands. Renkotsu glared at her as ho took his hands away from the flames to inspect the damage.
Wrong move, buddy, Sharon thought smirking.
She put both hands over the flames and powered her foxfire up. Renkotsu’s eyes widened when he saw what Sharon had done. The blue flames hit him. He let out a cry as he crashed into the audience’s chairs.
Anna’s dagger hit Jakotsu in the stomach. Jakotsu took it and glared at Anna.
“I’m not going to let you get away with that,” Jakotsu said snarling.
Anna held her sword in front of her determinedly.
“Stand back. I shall take care of her,” a zombie like voice said.
Anna faintly recognized the voice, but knew whom it belonged to. That voice, there’s only one person it belongs to.
Jakotsu stepped to the side to reveal Kyle.
Anna’s eyes went wide as she let out a gasp and quickly covered her mouth with her hand. Tears filled her eyes. It is him. Kyle.
Kyle now wore a demon exterminator suit that was entirely black and carried a sickle much like Kohaku’s.
Nina quickly dodged Kagura’s attack. How am I supposed to fight her? At this rate I won’t be able to use my arrows. She looked down at Albert who was still in her arms. And if I do get a chance to actually use my arrows, I won’t be able to save Albert in time. She groaned. What to do? What to do? She then saw Kyle raise his sickle. Her eyes widened. “Anna!”
Inukai kicked Bankotsu off him and looked towards Anna. “Anna, get out of the way, you idiot!” He saw that she wasn’t moving and was about to run to her aid when Bankotsu came after him. Inukai quickly kicked Bankotsu sending him flying into the ground.
Sharon saw what was going on and quickly used her whip like attack knocking the sickle out of Kyle’s hand. Inukai then was about to kick the boy when Anna ran in his way, grabbed a ninja star out from of her belt, and threw it at Inukai. Inukai barely dodged the attack making the star cut a few hairs near his dog-ears.
Inukai snarled as he glared at Anna. “What the hell do you think you’re doing, witch?!”
“I won’t let you hurt my brother!” Anna cried.
Kyle unsheathed his sword and held it ready to stab Anna in the back.
Nina quickly put Albert down. “Hurry and go over to Sharon.” The little cat demon nodded and obeyed her. Nina grabbed out an arrow and aimed it at Kyle’s sword.
“Get out of the way, you moron!” Inukai cried seeing what Kyle was going to do.
“No,” Anna said ready to fight any who dared to get near her brother.
“Anna, move out of the way!” Sharon cried hoping to get through to her best friend.
Nina shot her arrow. Anna’s eyes widened when she heard it approaching and quickly blocked it with her sword. Nina let out a sigh of relief as Kyle went in for the kill missing Anna. Anna glared at her pointing a threatening finger.
“How dare you!” Anna cried enraged. “You, of all people, should understand me. You have a little brother and I know you wouldn’t want him to get hurt.”
“What?!” Nina asked eyes widening. “Anna, I-”
“Save it. I don’t want to hear it,” Anna said. “I’ll kill all of you if I have to.”
“Anna, don’t be so stupid!” Inukai cried.
Kagura crossed her arms. “You are all boring me with your blabbering.”
Kyle jumped up from behind Anna and began going after Nina holding his sword up high. Nina and Anna’s eyes widened. Inukai cursed and Sharon and Albert cried out Nina’s name. Inukai then began going after Kyle. Anna ran in front of him and put her sword up to block Inukai’s Tsugerio.
“I won’t let you hurt my brother,” Anna said glaring into his golden eyes.
Inukai glared back at Anna as he let out a low growl. “And I won’t let him harm Nina. Now, get out of my way before I end up killing you.”
Sharon looked down at Albert. “Stay here. I’ve got to go save Nina since those two can’t seem to get along.” She sighed. Why do I have to be the mature one when it comes to this sort of stuff? She unsheathed her sword and was about to go after Kyle when she saw a blur of brown and black past her and kick Kyle down.
Kyle fell down on his back and looked up with wide eyes. Standing before him, was Koga who was holding up a clawed hand and glaring at the boy.
“Don’t you dare lay a finger on my woman, whelp,” Koga said letting out a low growl. “If you do, you shall dearly regret it.”
“Don’t you hurt him, Koga, or I’ll see to it that you’re killed,” Anna said as she and Inukai lowered their swords.
“I won’t harm him as long as he stays away from Nina,” Koga said.
Nina’s eyes widened. He… remembers me?
Inukai growled. “Koga, if you were smart, you’d get out of here before Anna and I beat the hell out of you.”
Koga snarled. “I’ll leave when I want, mutt.”
“Guys, now is not the time,” Nina said going in between Koga and Inukai. She then turned to face Koga. Before she could say anything, though, he took her hands and put them in his.
“Nina, you shouldn’t waste time with that mongrel and come with me,” Koga said.
“Uhh…” Nina sweat dropped smiling nervously. “Koga, I, umm, I think it would be best if we didn’t do this right now and, umm…”
Inukai’s eyes narrowed when he saw the faint blush that was covering Nina’s face. He let out a low growl then saw Kyle getting up and going after Nina. His eyes widened, but what he was going to do, Sharon did instead.
“Nina, move out of the way!” Sharon cried.
“Kyle, stop!” Anna cried.
“Koga, save her! What are you waiting for?!” Inukai shouted.
Koga looked towards Inukai and shouted, “Don’t tell me what to do mu-”
Before Koga could finish, Nina pushed him into the seats where the audience had sat and was about to get herself out of harm’s way when she tripped over a wire and sending her falling onto her stomach. She groaned as she sat up.
“Nina, move or you’re going to get hurt!” Albert cried as tears filled his eyes.
Inukai cursed again and began running after Kyle, but Anna got in his way and went in for the kill, but Inukai jumped back causing her to miss.
“Whose life do you value more?! Your best friend’s or your brother’s?!” Inukai demanded.
Anna glared at Inukai. “I value both and I’d rather die instead of both of them, but Kyle is the only person left from my family and I don’t want to be the only one left.”
Nina quickly stood up as the Shikon Jewel began to glow. The light began to surround her body. Inukai, Anna, Sharon, Albert, and Koga (who finally was back on the stage) watched as fear, concern, and wonder filled their faces. The Shichinintai, Kagura, and Kanna watched in bewilderment. Kyle continued charging after Nina. Nina’s eyes turned blank and she quickly grabbed Kyle by his wrists. Kyle’s wrists began smoking and he cried out in pain.
Anna’s eyes widened in horror. “Nina, what the hell do you think you’re doing?! Stop! You’re hurting him!”
Nina turned emotionless eyes towards Anna and said in a cold voice that sent shivers down everyone’s spines, “I am stopping him from harming anyone else. Naraku will not have him for long. Do not interfere if you value your life.” She then turned her attention back on Kyle tightening her grip on his wrists.
Kyle felt his skin begin to blister and dropped his weapon. Nina quickly broke of his wrists and threw him onto his back. She then made her claws appear and went over to the boy. She then held her hand up high in front of Kyle’s face.
“Nina, don’t do it!” Anna cried.
Inukai saw Nina’s eyes turn blood red as white stripes made their way to her cheeks. Her claws got longer as well as pointier. Inukai felt his blood freeze and his heart begin to pound uncontrollably. She’s a full demon. That’s not good.
Bankotsu cursed and looked towards Kanna and Kagura. The two nodded and they and the Shichinintai disappeared.
Inukai cursed again when he saw Kyle’s zombie like eyes turn back to normal.
Kyle’s eyes widened in fear. “L-let me go.”
Nina growled. “I will not allow you to go until Naraku himself fights me.”
“Let him go, Nina. Naraku’s released him. Just give me my brother back,” Anna pleaded.
Nina looked towards Anna and Inukai swore her eyes had turned back to normal if only for a brief second until they were blood red again. Nina grunted and picked up Kyle by his hair. She smirked as she put a clawed finger on the boy’s cheek drawing fresh blood. Kyle looked towards his sister for assistance. Anna looked down at the ground unsure of what to do. Tears began going down her cheeks.
Inukai let out a low growl not liking Nina’s demon side. Nina smirked all the more and threw Kyle at Anna. Anna caught her brother and looked towards Nina also hating the way her best friend was acting. Albert whimpered as he hid behind Sharon’s leg.
“Nina’s scary,” Albert said as tears filled his eyes.
Sharon gritted her teeth wishing Nina would turn back to normal. Koga was even keeping his distance away from the now full-blooded dog demon priestess.
Inukai began charging towards Nina sword ready to stab her.
“Good dog hanyou,” Nina said smiling wickedly. She licked her lips then began charging after Inukai with a clawed hand held up high.
“Someone, stop them,” Anna said.
“It’s best to leave them,” a wise voice said.
Anna, Sharon, Koga, Kyle, and Albert turned around to see Max.
“Inukai is the only one who can turn Nina back to normal,” Max said.
Nina went in for the kill. Inukai ducked, sheathed his blade, and then punched Nina in the stomach. Nina didn’t even flinch and clawed at Inukai again. Inukai dodged it, but not before losing s few strands of hair. Inukai snarled then suddenly felt as though he wanted Nina dead. He kicked her in the stomach. Nina, once again, didn’t flinch or show any sign of pain. She growled revealing her fangs then lunged at Inukai. Inukai jumped up then kicked her in the back sending her falling down onto her stomach and scraping bare skin on the ground. Nina rolled over and was about to sit up when Inukai quickly went over to her side. He held her down with one hand choking her as he raised a free clawed hand.
Anna’s eyes widened when she saw what Inukai was going to do.
“Stop!” She, Sharon, and Albert cried.
Max had to hold Koga back as he was about to run to Nina’s aid.
“Let me go, Max,” Koga said through gritted teeth. “Before I tell your mother.”
“I’m sure she’ll thank me for saving your butt,” Max said trying to tighten his grip on Koga.
Inukai went in for the kill. Nina’s eyes turned back to normal as she stopped trying to get free. Her eyes widened and she quickly squeezed them shut getting ready for the pain. Inukai quickly stopped his hand an inch from her face as he saw this.
She’s… back to normal, Inukai thought. He then took both hands away from her and backed up a foot or two away from her.
Nina opened her eyes when she felt no pain. She looked towards Inukai as pain, confusion, and hurt made its way to her face and eyes. She then looked down at her legs and feet to see some of the skin had been scraped. She then examined her hands were slightly a pinkish reddish color. She closed her eyes and gritted her teeth as she clenched and unclenched her hands causing them to shoot pain from her hands, up her arms, and through her body. She opened her eyes as she felt tears of pain fill her eyes.
Ow. Why do I fell like a train hit me? Nina thought. She heard Inukai begin to go over to her and looked up at him. He was about to kill me. He’s probably the on who hurt me. Maybe Kayko was right and he did betray her and he was lying to me the whole time and now he’s betraying me. She quickly stood up as anger then mixed in with her hurt, pain, and confusion. Inukai was just inches away from her when she shot him a cold hard glare and said, “I’m going home and don’t you dare think of following me.” With that, she left leaving behind confused, surprised, and startled humans and demons and one hanyou that was also filled with hurt.
