Inuyasha: Return to the Past

     Disclaimer:  I said it before and I'll say it again and probably say it over and over again, I don't own Inuyasha but I still try to make the best of it.

     Chapter 2: New Allies

     Inuyasha and Kagome stared wide-eyed at their surroundings.  All around them were trees, bushes, and grass.  But was really surprising to them was that there was village not too far from them.

     "This can't be," Inuyasha said slowly.  "This can't be the Feudal Era, it just can't be."

     "This... is impossible," said Kagome in awe.

     "Come on, lets head down to the village to see what's happening."

     "Alright."

     Inuyasha and Kagome walked down the path towards the village together passing by the tree that Inuyasha was impaled by Kikyo's arrow and put into eternal sleep.

     When they got down to the village, they saw all the villagers staring at them and whispering to each other.  "I don't like the looks of this, Inuyasha." Kagome whispered to Inuyasha.

     "Don't worry.  Lets just keep going until we get to Kaede's hut."

     Inuyasha and Kagome continued down the road towards Kaede's hut.  When they arrived to Kaede's hut a small boy of five ran up to them.  He had blue and black robes and carried a small staff.  He also had black hair that was tied into a short ponytail as he also had brown eyes.

     The young boy looked up at the two.  "Hey, doesn't that kid look familiar?" Inuyasha asked.

     "Yeah he does.  He looks just like-"

     "Minoku!"

     Everyone looked over to their left (Except the kid who looked over to his right) to see Miroku walking towards them.

     "There you are Minoku, I've been looking all..." Miroku looked up and stared blankly at Kagome.  "My... God.  Lady Kagome?"

     "Miroku?  Is that really you?" Kagome said.

     "It is you!  How are you doing?  Please, come in."

     "Into Kaede's hut?" Inuyasha asked.

     "No, this is our home Inuyasha.  Don't you remember?" Miroku said looking at Inuyasha like he asked a stupid question.

     Once they were inside they saw Sango making stew.  "My gosh, Kagome?" Sango said in disbelieve.  "It is you!"  Sango ran up to Kagome and hugged her.  "It really is you!"

     "And it's good to see you too." said Kagome hugging Sango.

     The little boy walked up to Sango and started tugging on her dress.  "Mommy, who is she?"  Sango let go of Kagome and knelt down next to the boy.

     "Son, this is my very good friend Kagome.  Kagome, this is our son Minoku."

     "'Bear my child'.  Were those the words you used before having him?" Inuyasha asked dully.

     "Of course not!  You should know that.  And speaking of which, where's the firewood you said you were going to get?" said Miroku.

     "Firewood?"

     "Yes, you said you were going to get some firewood.  And where did you get those clothing?"

     "I never said-"

     "I've got the firewood!"  Everyone looked towards the door as they saw Inuyasha coming in with some firewood in his arms.  But this Inuyasha was wearing red robes.

     Inuyasha entered into the hut to see everyone staring at him.  "What?"  He then looked over to his future self and stared blankly at him.  They both stared at each other not saying a word.

     "Whoa, two Inuyashas?  Now that's weird," said Miroku.

     The past Inuyasha dropped the firewood and slowly walked up to his future self as the other Inuyasha did the same with his past self.  They then started walking around in circles, still staring at each other.  "So who the hell are you?" the past Inuyasha asked.

     "I'm Inuyasha, who are you?"

     "That can't be right, I'm Inuyasha."

     "Last time I checked, I was Inuyasha."

     "Have you ever thought you two were the real Inuyashas." said Kagome.

     "Kagome!" the past Inuyasha said as he ran up to Kagome and started hugging her.  "I missed you.  It's been so long."

     "Well, I haven't missed you." Kagome replied.

     "What?!  Why not?!"

     "Well, maybe because I've been with you in the future, in the present day."

     "Yeah, that does make sense," Inuyasha then turned to his future self.  "So that's me in the future, eh?  Boy, it looks like I got weaker over the centuries."

     "What's that bub?!" Inuyasha said as he got up into his past face.

     "Ah man, even my hearing will go bad."

     "Damn you!  I'm going to ring your neck!"

     "Man, even my come backs will be stupid.  This can't be me in the future.  And besides, he looks completely different from me." Inuyasha said pointing at his future self.

     Everyone fell over (Anime style) as the past Inuyasha said that.

     "How can they be different?  They look the same.  They could even be mistaken as twin brothers," said Sango.

    Before Inuyasha could label out the details, screams were coming from the outside of the hut and all over the village.  Everyone ran outside to see what was happening.  Covering almost the whole entire village was pink smoke.  Inuyasha and the gang stayed in front of the door to the hut as they saw little children run from different directions.  "What the hell is going on?" the future Inuyasha said.

     Inuyasha looked ahead to see a shadowy figure appear in the pink smoke as figure stepped out of the clearing.  It looked like Jaken except he was tan and wearing a purple outfit as it carried a flute.

     "Who they hell are you?" both Inuyashas said.

     "Give me the Shikon Jewel," said the creature.

     "What?!"

     "Give me the Shikon no Tama or suffer deep consequences."

     "As if.  Do you want me to kill you?" the present Inuyasha said.

     "Ha!  By the time you get to me you'll be so inexperience to fight."

     "Oh yeah!" the present Inuyasha said as he charged at the creature about to unsheathe his sword as the creature stood his ground.  The creature raised his flute and started playing a light heartfelt music.  As the creature continued to play, pink smoke issued out of the free holes of the flute as the pink smoke engulfed the gang.  The creature stopped playing as the smoke cleared.  The gang was then little children of five.  "What the hell?!" the past Inuyasha said with a high voice.  "What sorta sick joke is this?!"

     "Ha.  Since I'm so small weak I have to come up with some smart way to defeat big and strong people like you!  Now I can take the Shikon Jewel and give it to my lord and master."  The creature started walking to the hut until...

     "Where the hell do you think you're going?"

     The creature looked behind him to see four teenagers standing far behind him, all of them looked like the age of fourteen.  One was a girl who wore a pretty white kimono with pink cherry blossoms on it and a dark pink belt.  She had long brown hair that reached her waist and brown eyes.  She also carried a white staff with an amethyst jewel on the top.  The other was a boy who wore a black leather jacket with a red shirt underneath as he wore blue jeans and white running shoes.  He also had black hair that sticked up in the front as he wore blue-rimmed sunglasses with a small sheathed sword belted at his waist.  The other was another boy who wore black robes like Inuyasha's as he rested a five ft sword on his shoulder (Think of Sanosuke's sword) as he held on to the handle.  He had yellow cat like eyes and long fiery red hair.  And the other boy wore bamboo armor with black clothing underneath.  He had long black hair that was tied into a ponytail and had green eyes as he had a belted sword sheathed by his side.

     "Who the hell are you people?"

     "Well guys, I guess he wants our names," said the boy with the sunglasses as he raised his hands into a shrug.  "Well then, lets give it to him."

     "The name's Nicole," said the girl.

     "Black Slash," the boy with the sunglasses said.

     "Rogue's the name," the boy said with the giant sword.

     "I am Lightning Strike," said the other boy.

     "And it looks like you are up to no good," Black Slash said.  "So it looks like we're gonna have to kill you."

     "Hmph.  By the time you try to kill me, you'll be too inexperienced to fight." with that the creature then started playing his flute as the pink smoke came out and engulfed the gang.  "Ha.  Now I can finally take the Shikon Jewel and give it... What?!"

     As the smoke cleared the creature saw a pink force field surrounding the gang that was emitting from Nicole's amethyst jewel.  "Thanks Nicole, we needed that." Black Slash said as he and Lightning Strike unsheathed the swords as Rogue pulled his sword off his shoulder.  They boys then jumped out of the force field as Black Slash cut one arm off of the creature, Lightning Strike cutting off the other as Rogue landed in front of the creature and slashed off the his legs.

     The creature fell onto his back looking up at the sky in shock.  He started to calm down as a big smile grew on his face.  "Now you can't change them back!  They'll be stuck like that until they grow up!" He then started laughing.

     Black Slash sheathed his sword as he walked up to the arm that held the flute as he picked it up.  "That isn't true at all."

     The creature slowly stopped laughing as he turned his head towards him.  "Oh really?"

     "Yeah.  You see the song you've been playing, I've heard that song before."

     "Really?  Where?"

     "Well, I've heard it everywhere I went in each village.  I heard it from but not just any person, it was from children.  And I'm guessing that if you play a song with light heartiness in it, this enchanted flute changes the people around it into children as if you play a sorrow song it will probably change them back, am I right?"

     All the creature could do was just stare at him wide-eye with his mouth slightly open.

     "I'm taking that as a yes."

     Before Black Slash could play the flute Lightning Strike spoke.  "Wait Black.  What will happen if it doesn't work?"

     "Don't worry, it'll probably work."

     "Than we're all doomed," said Nicole.

     "Hey!  It's a good plan." Black Slash then started playing the flute with a sorrow song as purple smoke issued out of the free holes and covering the village.  The gang looked nervously around waiting for something to happen except Black who was playing the flute with his eyes closed.  Nicole looked over to her left to see everyone changing back to normal.

     "Black, it's working!"

     "Good." said Black as he stopped playing the flute.  "Hey Lightning, put on your flywheels to see if the smoke went through the whole village."

     "Alright."  Lightning then pulled out two small wagon wheels and dropped them right next to his feet.  The wheels then floated right next to his feet.  As they spun, Lightning Strike flew up into the air leaving behind a cloud of dust.  Lightning Strike flew higher into the sky letting the wind brush off his face as he looked below him to see the whole village engulfed in purple smoke.

     Black Slash was still looking up at the sky watching the little black speck float in the air.  He then heard something.  "It went around the whole entire village!"

     "Yes!"

     "Alright!" Rogue and Nicole said as they did a high-five and Lightning Strike landing right next to them.

     "Well that will that would be one of our strangest adventures yet." Black Slash said.  "I just wish we had a log booklet."

     "I told you Black, we can't write anything down about here," said Nicole.

     "Why not?"

     "What will happen if we lose it in the Present Era and someone finds it and reads it?  Than they will know about this place."

     "Get real, Nicole!  If someone reads it, they would probably think that it was a story."

     "Yeah right Black!  You always have to put in the date!"

     "Still, they'll probably think it's a fictional story with dates in it!" Black and Nicole were both in each other’s faces that it looked like all Hell was going to break loose.

     "Doesn't this remind you of some people?" Miroku whispered to Sango.

     "Yeah."

     "Why do you keep trying to be stupid girl?!" yelled Black.

     "Hey!  I am not a stupid girl!" Nicole yelled back.

     "Yes you are!"

     "No I'm not!"

     "Are too!"

     "Are not!"

     "Are too!"

     "Are not!"

     "Too!"

     "Not!"

     "Too!"

     "Not!"

     "Okay, break it up!" said Lightning Strike as he got between them.  Both Black and Kagome turn their backs on each other as they got into their Inuyasha and Kagome pose.

     "He/She started it," they both said in unison.  They then turned back around and started arguing again.

     "What?!  I started it?!" yelled Nicole.

     "What do you mean that I started it?!"

     "You were the one who wanted a logbook, that's how it started!"

     "No, all I said was that I wished I had a logbook, then you start complaining about it!"

     "Look, do you want me hurt you?!" Nicole yelled.

     "I would like to see you try to hurt me!"

     Nicole raised her staff in the air ready to strike Black with it.

     "Uh oh..."

     *BAM*

     *BAM*

     *BAM*

     *BAM* etc.

     Rogue dropped his sword as he held back Nicole from beating Black any further.  All that was left of Black was a crumpled body filled with lumps all over his head.  "Okay, you win." Black said weakly.  Nicole then stomped off fuming.

     "That must be her way of 'sit'." Miroku said to Sango.

     "Yeah," said Sango as she stared at Nicole magnificently.

     "Yeah, that must be her way of 'sit'."

     Sango and Miroku jumped away surprised as they saw Shippo standing next to them.

     "Shippo you scared us." Miroku said.

     "Sorry, I just wanted to see what was happening."  Shippo was now a teenager with his hair longer than ever but wearing the same kind of outfit he wore years ago.

     "Well, there is a lot of explaining to do here.  A lot." Miroku said.

     "Ah, so even though it has been only eight weeks in ye time it has been five years in our world."  Lady Kaede had joined the group in her hut as they talked about what has happen in the other worlds.  "Ay, nothing has happened here until now.  We have been living in peace for the past five years."

     "That's nice and all but there's still needs to be a lot explaining to do about these jokers," Inuyasha said, pointing a finger at Black Slash and his gang that were sitting quit for from Inuyasha and the gang.

     "Watch it," Nicole said.

     "Whatever."

     "Oh, ye mean Black and ye's gang?  Oh I know the."

     "You do?" said Inuyasha, Kagome, Miroku, and Sango in unison.

     "Why yes.  Ye see, Black and Nicole showed up months later after Kagome came to our time.  They seemed to gotten used to the place that they set out their own adventures.  After awhile, ye showed up with new friends."

     "Yeah, but I want to know who you all are." said Inuyasha.

     "Fine.  I'm Nicole; my weapons are a staff and summoning stones.  I am also half dog demon, half human, and half priestess."

     "Wait.  You're a priestess too?" asked Kagome.

     Nicole smiled at Kagome.  "Yup."

     "My name is Rogue, my weapon is a five ft, pure silver, double edge sword that's outside because it's too big for this room.  I'm also a full demon, panther demon that is."

     "I am Lightning Strike.  My weapon is a two ft katana and I am also a full demon."

     "What?  You move so fast, it looks like lightning?" Kagome joked.

     "No, even better," he said.  Lightning Strike raised one of his hands straight towards the window as everyone saw in horror as he conjured electricity in the palm of his hand and fired it out the window.  Shippo backed up in fear as he hid behind Kagome and Inuyasha grabbing his sword about to unsheathe it.

     "Okay, who the hell you really are?" Said both Inuyashas in unison.

     "I knew you were going to do that," he said as he put his hand down.  "As you probably know the Thunder Brothers... well, I am related to them."

     Everyone stared at him shocked except Nicole, Black, Rogue, and Lady Kaede who were all looking off into space.

     "But don't worry," Lightning said.  "I'm on your side."

     "Good," both Inuyashas said as they sat down.

     "Okay, my name is Black Slash.  And my weapon is a short sword."

     Everyone returned back to their business after the introductions were over except both Inuyashas who stared at Black suspiciously.  "Hey, Black." the present Inuyasha said.  "Can you follow me for sec."

     "I'm coming too," said the other Inuyasha.

     "Me too," Nicole said as she got up.

     "No you're not," said the present era Inuyasha.  "You're staying here."

     "No, it's okay," said Black.  "It's okay that she comes.  She won't cause any problem."

     The four them headed down to the forest so no one could hear their conversation.  As they got there, Black leaned against a tree and the others stood there staring at him.

     "Okay, what are you?" Inuyasha said (present era).

     "What?"

     "I said, what are you?"

     "I don't understand what you're talking about."

     "Your scent," said Inuyasha.  "Your scent is different.  It doesn't smell like any scent that I never smelled."

     "So you've found out?" Black said as he looked around at both Inuyashas except Nicole which he knew that she knew about what was going on.

     "I told you, you couldn't hide it forever." Nicole said to Black Slash.

     "Hiding what?"

     "I was born in a human," said Black.  "I had human parents, I had human sisters, but why?  How can I do this?  How can I be this way?!"

     "What are you talking about?"

     "How can I be human if I can do this!" Black then threw a punch at a tree as it fell over, tearing its roots out of the ground.

     "How'd you do that?" Inuyasha asked flabbergasted (past era).

     "Ever since I found out about that, I knew I couldn't be human.  For years I tore myself up trying to find out what I am.  I'm not human nor demon.  So, what am I?" he sighed as he leaned back against a tree.  "I guess I'll never know."

     They then heard screaming coming from the village as they heard a deep growling followed by the screams.
