Doubting Yggdrasil's way of justice, Craniummon releases BanchouLeomon and takes over himself. Before doing so, he called BanchouLeomon... Daimon Suguru shocking Chika.... Could it be true??

In the digital world, Markus has a hard time believing that BanchouLeomon is his dad until he mentions an event that happened when Markus was a child. When the others arrive, the large digimon tells the whole story:

After separating from Mercurimon, he met BanchouLeomon while searching for Yggdrasil. They hit it off and began traveling together. After weeks of searching, they were approached by the Royal Knight, Craniummon. Suguru asks to be taken to see Yggdrasil, but Craniummon refuses. When BanchouLeomon and Suguru show them the power of human and Digimon working together to produce the burst mode, Yggdrasil appears before them in the form of a huge tree.

There should have been a bright future for Digimon and humans, but Kurata ruined the alliance when he entered the Digital World and began destroying Digimon (1st time). Suguru was imprisoned and Yggdrasil planned on wreaking havoc in the human world. Suguru begged them to have faith in humanity just one more time. He bet his life that the tragedy wouldn't happen again. Yggdrasil gave him another chance.

Years later, Kurata entered the Digital World again...this time destroying Mercurimon among others. Suguru is told that Markus has entered the Digital World as well. Due to his promise and the recent Kurata incident, Suguru Daimon must be executed.

Before the Royal Knights can destroy the human, BanchouLeomon intervenes. He tells the Knights that, as the human's friend, he wants to be the one to send him to the other world. He turns, asks for forgiveness, and gives Suguru a blow that pierces right through the man. A short time later, after the Knights have left, BanchouLeomon talks to the dying Suguru. "Become one with me," he says, "that's the only way we can fool Yggdrasil, and you can watch over your son." Unfortunately, Yggdrasil saw them trying to deceive him and took Suguru's body as his own.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Markus asked. BanchouLeomon said that even if he wanted to...he couldn't. Yggdrasil kept a close watch on them. The God of the Digital World said that if they ever told anyone or engaged in any battles, than he would destroy this body.

Suddenly, Yggdrasil appears and begins attacking what he calls...."worthless humans." BanchouLeomon grabs him, "Now shoot, Markus," he shouts. Markus refuses, but BanchouLeomon convinces him to be a man and that this is the only way to take down Yggdrasil.

Digisoul charge overdrive! Agumon evolves to ShineGreymon!

With fond memories echoing through his brain and tears in his eyes, Markus watches as ShinGreymon fires the fatal blow. "Thank you, Markus." BanchouLeomon/Suguru says before disappearing.

"Was Yggdrasil defeated?" they wonder. But Wait! A figure arises from the smoke, "Foolish humans. Your punishment for disobeying me shall now be enforced! I am God!
