In the previous episode Craniummon was defeated when Thomas, Yoshi, and Keenan arrived to help Marcus. Craniummon is humbled by his loss and goes to the human world to check things out.

Meanwhile, in the Digital World, Marcus and the others approach a huge tree. Gotsumon says, "This tree is where the God of the Digital World, Yggdrasil, is said to live." When Marcus and Agumon attempt to climb the tree, Gaomon cuts the vines and the two go tumbling. Thomas inspects the cut vines, which are now glowing. "This tree must be the main server that administers the Digital World," he says. A few feet away, Keenan has found an entrance just as the tree's defenses attack. They are large crystals that can mimic the same attacks as their opponent. Thomas instructs everyone to go ahead while he and Gaomon hold off the Crystals.

Inside the tree, it becomes apparent that more Crystals have been waiting. This time Yoshino and Keenan stay behind to fight sending Marcus to find his father.

In the human world Professor Noguchi and his wife work to find a way to repair the dimensional barrier. The Captain watches with anticipation, until he is informed that a Royal Knight has entered the harbor district.

Not far off Mrs. Daimon and Kristy watch knowing that another Digimon has come to attack. Biyomon takes it upon himself to stop him, but he gets tossed down easily. "I don't have time for this right now," Craniummon says knocking the small Digimon to the ground. Kristy runs to his side, and they both resolve to fight. The two disappear into the sky despite Mrs. Daimon's screams. Biyomon evolved to Birdramon before facing the Royal Knight. Imagine their surprise when they see that Craniummon wants to help Banchouleomon.

Returning to Marcus, he finally faces his father. The man keeps saying he is God and humans should be destroyed. Marcus fights in frustration but keeps running into Yggdrasil's force field. At one point Marcus is tossed from the tree unconscious, but he hears a voice telling him to use his emotions to increase his digisoul! With the help of MirageGaogamon, Rosemon, and Ravemon, Marcus is sent back into the tree and lands a mega punch on his father. Marcus looks down at his fist thinking that he heard the voice of his father when he was falling. A furious Yggdrasil composes himself and orders an attack. Marcus is shocked, "My fist didn't reach him!"

Down from the sky, Banchouleomon arrives and administers a explosive punch to the man calling himself God. "Why are you here?" Marcus asks the lion-like digimon. He tells the boy that Craniummon took his place and is helping to save both worlds. Just then, Marcus notices his father is buried under rubble and tries to run to him. Banchouleomon stops him saying, "He may look like your father, but he is not! Your father, Spenser Daimon, is me!!"
