Memories of My Mom. Howl MachGaogamon

Picking up from last episode, Touma leads the way as the team head to Infinite Ice Ridge. They approach a very unusual valley. Inside are skyscrapers and buildings lying sideways?!? Of course, this is the digital world so anything is possible. Impulsively, Masaru leads the way. While they are making their way through, a tiny Kuramon is spying on them. Through it's eye, Ikuto, Falcomon and Gotsumon see every move the DATS team make. Gotsumon remarks that no one has ever left that valley unharmed.

Within the valley, the DATS group is suddenly surrounded by dozens of Dokugumon. Before any of them can escape, they are caught in the Dokugumon's binding webs and carried into the depths below.

After the intro, we find the group hanging from their web bindings. Their digimon have been separated and immobilized. An ominous voice echoes from below. "Filthy humans," it says, "Sleep and roam aimlessly in your nightmares! Your hearts will be mine for the taking." Agumon, Gaomon, and Raramon must watch helplessly as their human partners fall asleep. Gaomon is concerned....he knows it is MetalPhantomon! He is the ruler of the valley who feasts upon the souls of living beings by showing them a nightmare of bottomless despair as he sucks away the vitality of their hearts.

Agumon calls out in an attempt to wake Masaru up, but the boy is having a nightmare. He is dreaming that Chika has been captured by a Drimogemon, and he is unable to save her because of an endless group of Numemon. Yoshino is also having a nightmare. She sees herself as a tearful child.

In Touma's nightmare, he finds himself in his hometown. He sees himself as a child with his beloved mother. Touma realizes that he has returned to the day of the Summer festival....a day he will never forget. That was the day he lost his mother. In the nightmare, Touma believes he can do something to save her, but he is a mere hologram and there is nothing he can do. ... his begging and warning shouts cannot be heard. (Gaomon can only watch as the light draining from Touma's soul becomes brighter.) Suddenly, a speeding truck veers around the corner. Touma's mother swings her child out of the way, but is struck by the reckless driver. Touma screams in sorrow. (I'm serious...this episode is a heartbreaker.) MetalPhantomon finds nourishment in these bad memories and grief.

Surprisingly, something unusual happens! Touma breaks free from MetalPhantomon's grip. A warm aura surrounds him. His mother appears to him wiping his tears. "You'll always stay alive within my memories," he tells her, "Not just the painful memories, but the enjoyable ones as well." With those words, his web restraints disintegrate. "Using memories of my mother to obtain my soul is unforgivable," he says staring at MetalPhantomon, "accept retribution!"

Digisoul....Charge! Perfect evolution!
Gaomon evolve to MachGaogamon! The perfect level digimon uses a howling cannon attack on MetalPhantomon and releases both Masaru and Yoshino.

Digisoul....Charge! Agumon evolves to GeoGreymon.
Digisoul Charge! Raramon evolves to Sunflowmon!

The attacks of Agumon and Sunflowmon (Sunshine Beam) destroy the Dokugumon while MachGaogamon destroys MetalPhantomon with his Winning Knuckle attack. Ikuto, Falcomon, and Gotsumon are shocked at what they have seen.

A short time later the exhausted group exit the valley. "Let's keep moving," Touma instructs. They barely move a foot before Yoshino collapses...obviously very ill.
