Tohma's Day Off. Exploding Bomber Nanimon!

(NOTE: My favorite episode so far!) Tohma enters DATS only to come face to face with a very humble Masaru and Agumon. The blonde boy can't help but wonder just what is going on? Seems Masaru is forced to take a make-up test at school tomorrow, and it happens to be Chika's birthday. He asked Tohma to take his place as the man in the family so Chika may have a wonderful birthday.

Later that day, Tohma accompanies Masaru home just to make sure that Chika is OK with this arrangement. While there, he is invited for dinner. He is so taken by the kindness of Masaru's mother that Tohma resolves to put together the best birthday Chika has ever had. When he returns to his lavish mansion that evening, Tohma schedules the perfect day out!

The next day, Tohma arrives at the Daimon residence dressed in a tux and providing beautiful flowers for both Chika and Mrs. Daimon. However, Tohma's plans are immediately thwarted when Chika asks to be taken to an arcade. In fact, all of Tohma's arrangements are toast, because the birthday girl had other ideas. This isn't bad, however, since Tohma was able to experience and taste things he had never experienced before.

After lunch, Chika asks to see fireworks....ones that make a big bang and light up the whole sky! Tohma takes her to an amusement park. He explains that they shoot fireworks after dark and says they can enjoy the attractions while they are waiting. (Meanwhile, poor Masaru is struggling at school...let's just say that tests are not his forte.)

It's just about dusk. Chika, Tohma and Mrs. Daimon are riding the Ferris wheel when suddenly, the sound of fireworks are heard. "Fireworks already?!?" Chika says. Tohma sees it is a digimon. Bomber Nanimon (adult level, special attack - free throw bomb) has come to wreak havoc on the amusement park. Tohma exits the ride and instructs the others to get to safety. After Gaomon emerges, Tohma informs DATS headquarters of the renegade digimon. When Captain Satsuma asks him to wait for backup, the boy says he can't do that.........this is personal! He wants to protect Chika and her mother no matter what!

Digisoul.....Charge!!!! Gaomon evolve to Gaogamon!!!

The two digimon engage in battle. When Bomber Nanimon threatens to ignite dozens of bombs at once, Tohma hesitates knowing that it could cause a wide spread fire. He then recalls Chika's words...."...ones that make a big bang and light up the whole sky!" He orders Gaogamon to throw Bomber Nanimon into the sky with all the bombs! After sending the renegade digimon into the sky, Gaogamon hits him with his "spiral blow" attack. The results are a loud explosion that lights up the sky in fireworks. Bomber Nanimon is nothing more than digi-tama.

A little later, Tohma exits the park and apologizes to Chika. However, both her and Mrs. Daimon know it was him and his partner who caused the beautiful light show. Chika kisses him on the cheek in appreciation and then mentions she is hungry. When Tohma suggests a good French restaurant, Mrs. Daimon says she wants him to come to their house for some good home cooking.

That evening Chika is able to blow out her candles at home in the presence of Masaru and Yoshino as well as the others. After everything that has happened, Tohma feels so much at home that he can even swipe the last fried egg from Masaru and Agumon!
