The Final Battle_______________________________
Hiltz and the Deathstinger have disappeared from radar. Just what is he up to now? Meanwhile, Rosso (Barron of Wings) and Viola have arrived at the Empire's Secret Weapon's facility. They watch from the monitors as Van, Irvine, and Thomas work out the kinks from the latest strategy to defeat Hiltz. They must use the delta formation to trap the Deathstinger at the impact zone of the gravity cannon's shell using an electromagnetic field. While the demonstration is taking place a distress call is picked up from the Sand Colony. It has been demolished by Hiltz. Based on that information, Captain Herman determines the Deathstinger is heading northwest towards Mt. Isolina. Rosso and Viola leave to assist the people of Mt. Isolina, but promise Rudolf they will return safely. At Mt. Isolina Viola's sister, Rosa is playing with children when Hiltz begins his attack. Rosa jumps into her Godos and tries to retaliate, but she is thrown from her Zoid. Viola arrives and instructs Rosa and the children to get into her Storm Sworder while Rosso distracts Hiltz with his fire power. Suddenly, Hiltz deploys the Deathstinger's charged particle gun. Mt. Isolina is destroyed, and the fate of our friends is unknown. Back at the Secret Weapon's facility, Van agonizes over the possible demise of Rosso and Viola, but Rudolf is confident they will return. In another part of Zi, Raven and Ryss have stopped for water on their way to Zoid Eve. They learn of the evacuation orders of most villages. Ryss feels anger, but Raven doesn't feel he has the right to be angry with all of the bases he has destroyed in the past. The Deathstinger presses onward. His next target...the prison. The prisoners are evacuating, but Stinger's cell door is jammed. He is assisted by the scientists we remember from the episode, "Cerberus". Once free, he runs into Rohto and Dennis. The three are determined to fight Hiltz, but a charged particle blast ends the battle quickly. Hiltz defiantly states, "Now that's how you deal with trash like them", as he heads for his next target. Van and the others have determined that Hiltz is following the same path they did when they first went to the Imperial Capital. With that in mind, they are able to determine his next destination is the Gureal Plateau. Van, Irvine and Thomas come face to face with Hiltz at the Plateau where they engage their delta formation strategy. The first attempt with the delta formation blockade is a disaster as Hiltz breaks through and shoots down the gravity cannon's shell with a charged particle blast. Van and the gang are unwilling to give up. They preserve as much energy as possible by eliminating the use of their shields while battling. Again they have immobilized Hiltz with their blockade, and this time it is holding. Major Shubaltz fires the last shell. Dr. D instructs our heroes to evacuate quickly for the hyper-gravity diameter from the blast spans 4 kilometers. Anything within that boundary will be crushed. The Blade Liger, Lightning Saix, and Dibison speed away as the gravity cannon's shell reaches it's destination. Sadly, the Dibison does not have the speed to keep up with Irvine and Van. Through the shock waves of the imminent black hole, Hiltz is able to fire his charged particle gun one last time. The gun's blast just catches the Dibison sending it into a forward nose-dive. deadly shock waves approach. (Nothing like a good cry first thing in the morning. I don't know about you, but everytime I watch this episode I've got to refresh my deodorant...it's just that exciting!!!) |
