Irvine and Van are battling the Hellcats to get nearer to the Death Stinger, but they are overwhelmed with the Hellcat's superior fire power and stealth technology. After shooting through all of the mountains, the Death Stinger now has a clear path to Van and Irvine. Irvine says they'll need a miracle to get out alive. They see a charged particle beam coming towards them! With only seconds to spare our heroes are lifted out of the way by Viola and the Baron of Wings.

The two Storm Sworders deposit the Blade Liger and the Lightening Saix safely on the deck of the ocean-bound Ultrasaurous. The Baron of Wings and Viola head off. Moonbay welcomes them aboard 'her Ultrasaurous', and Irvine asked curiously when this huge Zoid became hers and not that of the New Republic.

Herman calls a meeting of all the major leaders and warriors. He tells them about a new, gigantic weapon called the gravity cannon invented by Doctor D. He explained that it would be outfitted to the currently unarmed Ultrasaurous.

A Hammerhead scouting the water around the Ultrasaurous, reported that the ice was exploding and suddenly the signal went blank. Herman explained "It must have been methane hydrate. Under high pressure, methane gas can combine with water to create a substance called methane hydrate. The methane hydrate is susceptible to environment changes and when it breaks down releases methane gas. We believe that the Hammerhead managed to get caught in a bubble of methane gas and exploded when the gas ignited." Another officer showed them what fire or a really hot source of energy could do by setting the ice on fire. The fire turned blue and covered the icy substance.

All of a sudden alarms rang out! The scanner showed a large number of Sinker Zoids approaching the Ultrasaurous. All the units were sent out to battle, except the land Zoids which remained on deck firing at the enemy. Luckily, they managed to destroy all of the Sinker Zoids.

Meanwhile Emperor Rudolph was taking a tour of Doctor D's stealth hidden laboratory where the gravity cannon was made. Alarms began to ring out---it was being attacked by enemy forces. Doctor D considered abandoning the gravity cannon so they could get to safety until...the Baron of Wings and Viola flew in and destroyed the attacking units.

Back at the Ultrasaurous, Fiona detected the Death Stinger moving in. Major Herman ordered Moonbay to submerge the Ultrasaurous so the charged particle beam couldn't destroy them. They submerged just in time to avoid annihilation by the charged particle beam. Hiltz, seeing that his charged particle beam is now useless, sent the Death Stinger after them. Major Herman instructed Moonbay to go to the area where the methane hydrate was. Hiltz reached the surface of the Ultrasaurous and began to break through the armor of the Ultrasaurous with the claws of the Death Stinger.

They reached the methane hydrate and released the Depth Chargers onto the methane hydrate ice. On impact, the Depth Chargers detonated releasing large bubbles of methane gas. The explosions sent the Death Stinger further into the ocean, and the Ultrasaurous emerged unharmed. Disaster avoided...but for how long???
