Heroes of the Sky_______________________________ At Red River Base, the Republic has developed a new Zoid, two in fact. The Storm Sworder. Awaiting their pilots, Dr. D, O'Connell and Herman watch as they arrive. From the arriving jeep, a familiar red haired man and a brown haired woman announce their loyalty to the Republic and begin to pilot the Storm Sworders. O'Connell voices his doubts about the pilots, but D assures they'll be a loyal force. The Storm Sworders then take to the air. During the flight, their identities are revealed as the presumed dead Rosso and Viola. Moonbay's Gustav and its passengers continue their journey to Guylos. Checking their progress by map, Moonbay plans to take the long route. Van notices a shortcut, but Irvine comments about an Imperial Air Base being along the way. Ebonae is the base's name according to Rudolph's memory. Rudolph also mentions it having only two Redlers which Van responds, "not a problem". Irvine is irritated by Van's cocky attitude and lack of experience and puts him in a headlock. Fiona suggests that whoever reaches a checkpoint quickest gets to choose which path to take. Moonbay adds that travel is only by normal pace. Van and his Shield Liger seperate from the Gustav. Van asks who wants to go with him, Rudolph and Fiona eagerly wanting to go. Moonbay disapproves of Rudolph going but he manages to sneak onto the Liger. At the Imperial Air Base ahead of the Gustav's path, a customized Zaber Fang piloted by Schubaltz participates in a test run of the new Black Redlers, the Isenback unit. As the battle commences, Shubaltz comments on the new Redler's features being faster and stronger in armor. At the end of the test run, Schubaltz loses after taking a direct hit, ending the run and sending them back to the base. One of the pilots, Ralph, apologizes for dragging Schubaltz on the run, but Schubaltz doesn't mind, having such free time. Schubaltz comments the magnificence of the Black Redlers. Ralph agrees and adds that more will appear, the base being under the direct command of Prozen, and that having the Redlers will aid to laying waste to Rebel territory. Schubaltz agrees but disapproves of the war's injustice involving civilians. The two go on saying how things have changed between them and head inside from the rain. Near the perimeter of the base is the Shield Liger. Rudolph notices the increased amount of Redlers and base size. Van notices the numbers to be equivelant to a whole squadron. Fiona gets a bad feeling and Van comments on her bad feelings leading to bad things. Suddenly, the base spots the Liger, as the one with the Crown Prince Imposter. The Isenback unit is initiated. At the Guylos capital, Lieutenant Harten informs Prozen of the Liger being spotted, but Prozen only wants a confirmed elimination of the imposter, not a report. The Isenback unit takes to the sky. The Storm Sworders intercept communications that the Prince has been spotted. They relay the info to Red River. Hermann disapproves of the two going over Imperial Airspace but communication is deliberately disconnected and the Sworders initiate their boosters and head to save the Prince. The Shield Liger is pursued by Redlers. Isenback 4 relays images of Zeek to the base. Schubaltz remembers the organoid belonging to a Shield Liger. Images of the Liger appear. Schubaltz notices a difference and wonders if Van switched Zoids. Fearing the worst, Rudolph feels guilty requesting that Van create communications with the base to stop the attack by turning himself in. Van denies the request but Fiona already makes communications. Shubaltz recognizes the Prince and identifies him to be the real deal. Ralph deliberately cuts communications and for the continuing glory of the Empire has Schubaltz restrained. An attempt is made for Zeek to fuse with the Liger, but he is damaged by a Redler missle. Van is about to face the Redlers head on when from the sky, the Sworders appear. Aerabologni (Rosso) and the Sword of Storms (Viola) quickly make mincemeat out of the Redlers. Zeek recovers and fuses with the Liger, aiding its escape, surprising Ralph with its speed. The Sworders bid good day. Meanwhile at the base, Schubaltz's restraintees are distracted by the Sworder's action, allowing Schubaltz to initiate the self-destruct of the base. End. |
