Deploy the ZG_______________________________ Imperial forces want to make a move on the Republican base at Mt. Osa, however, they are suffering delays due to fallen debris. Major Marcus is angry. Major Shubaltz explains this was all a plan and don't underestimate Colonel Krueger.
In another part of Zi, a heavy rain falls as Van watches over a recovering Zeke. Moonbay and Fiona, sporting rain gear, tell Dr. D the roof needs fixing. Van volunteers to do the work to keep his mind off things. At the base Major Ford is briefing Colonel Krueger. He tells that just past the Cronos fortress, towards the A-2 location, there are a mix of units including a Red Horn and an Iron Kong. Then they discuss the progress of their heavy mobile combat Zoid. Even though the ZG is still in the experimental phase or only 58%, it is still equal to the power of 12 Zoids.
Meanwhile...Irvine has craftily slipped his way into the base. His goal is to get enough fire power to finish off Raven. He sees the ZG, and his jaw drops in awe. It's a Gojulus! On an overhead balcony, Krueger has arrived and watches Irvine's reaction. The Colonel tells the young man that he had heard about the confrontation with Raven. Not far off Imperial forces are pressing forward. They come face to face with an army of sleeper Zoids. Marcus wants to charge right in, but Major Shubaltz tells him to withdraw while he, himself takes them on with the Iron Kong. Shubaltz wants to reduce any loss of troops. The reluctant Marcus withdraws, and within minutes, the iron kong wipes out all of the sleepers. Flying overhead, Captain Herman sees the destruction and considers Shubaltz a worthy opponent.
Hearing the explosions in the distance, Dr. D feels they should leave. Van, however, will not leave without Irvine. The boy takes the shield liger to find Irvine....leaving Zeke behind. Back at the base Krueger and Irvine are discussing a Zoids potential. They agree that a Zoid can sense the feelings and emotions of their pilot and use them to enhance their capabilities. Suddenly, enemy fire causes Colonel Krueger to fall from the balcony injuring himself.
Captain Herman, who flew over enemy lines to arrive at the base, approaches the fallen Colonel and Irvine. With Krueger injured, Herman takes it upon himself to pilot the ZG. Irvine protests...feeling he would make a better pilot. Raven watches from afar while the Gojulus, piloted by Captain Herman, destroys Imperial forces. Major Shubaltz orders a full retreat...much to the dismay of Marcus. Shubaltz tells him that no commander will stand by and watch their troops be annihilated.
Inside the base, Irvine has been viewing the action high atop a ledge. Without warning vibrations from the Gojulus fire power causes him to plunge from that ledge. Van arrives just in time to save Irvine from Immanent death. Seems the boy's desire to save his friend tapped into the full power of the shield liger even without Zeke. At the battlefield, Captain Herman is unable to continue when the Gojulus loses balance and becomes grounded. Raven smirks as he watches Imperial forces escape. He shrugs claiming that he would have finished them off....every last one of them.
************ A little while later, Fiona and Moonbay greet Van and Irvine when they return.....and that's not all! Zeke has fully recovered, which makes for a very happy Van. (Note from Julie) Van tapped into the Shield Liger's full potential without Zeke's help. |
