Towa is the older twin daughter of Sesshomaru.
During a forest fire when she was just four years old, she was separated from her younger sister, Setsuna. In the panic to find Setsuna, Towa's left eye began to glow opening a portal to present day Japan. Kagome's (now grown) brother, Sota finds the child and subsequently adopts her.
Fast forward to ten years later. Towa is a junior high school girl who excels at martial arts.
