Episode 12: Night of the New Moon and the Black-Haired Towa
Summary:
Konton has the demon/apparition, Nikosen, dispose of the the half demon girls and retrieve the rainbow pearls. Long ago, Nikosen used to be a Sage, but wicked thoughts made him stray from his path and turn into an apparition.
As it turns out, all of the girls were ordered to slay Nikosen. Moroha is disappointed that she will have to split the bounty again.
When the girls approach Nikosen, he sprays them with sage venom. Towa is affected. Setsuna notices that things are different with Towa, and takes her to a safer area.
Moroha manages to behead Nikosen, but this doesn't defeat him. Setsuna says she will finish the job and asks Moroha to watch over Towa. Setsuna soon realizes that Nikosen's core is his body. As she is heading back to Towa, Setsuna is stopped by Kohaku and the demon slayers. They plan to burn down the mountain to exterminate Nikosen and his demon venom.
Meanwhile, Towa and Moroha have found refuge in a cave. Flea demon, Myoga, shows up and explains what happened to Towa. They are in the middle of a New Moon, which is when the demon power flowing through your blood is lost. Since Moroha is a quarter demon, she does not experience the New Moon. To protect Towa, Moroha puts up a barrier in front of the cave's entrance.
The fire by the demon slayers has broken down the barrier allowing Nikosen to find them. He turns Towa and Moroha into stone. Luckily, Setsuna arrives and saves them. She is not experiencing the same phenomena as Towa, which could be due to the Dream Butterfly and her stolen dreams.
Nikosen regenerates again, but this time it is dawn, and Towa has returned to normal. She defeats Nikosen by destroying both head and body. Sadly, no bounty once again. Poor Moroha. Will she ever repay her debt?
