Suguha runs into Shinichi Nagata (Recon) at school. She informs him that she will be going with Kirito to Aarun. (In the center of Alfheim is the world tree, and near its base lies the great neutral city, Aarun.)

Later, after meeting up with Kirito, Leafa has a run in with Sigurd, the Sylph Lord and leader of her party. He is not at all happy that Leafa wants to leave their party.

Back at the birdcage, Asuna has been watching Oberon each time he leaves. She is getting closer and closer to learning the combination to the lock that traps her within the cage.
