Curriculum 18: EX: The Power of the Dreamer

     The vast darkness of space, lies the training facility known as GOA, the final battle draw closer and closer, soon the candidates will be put to the test. Presently a young boy named Zero Enna awaits his chance to become the pilot of the white vessel known as Ernn Laties. Along with his partner candidate and his repairer, he hopes for the day to come when he is deemed the "white goddess. For now Zero's power remains locked inside himself, but the day will come when he is able to unleash it and smite the Victim for all eternity.

                  Zero: Over the past two years at GOA, the thought derived from my mind......HOW THE HELL IS MY MOTHER DOING!!!!! Thankfully I sent her a letter and am hoping for a reply soon. Anyways today started like any other, the waiting for what crap we had to go through today and to find out when instructor was going to give out and die. Like that 'll ever happen. But sufficient to say we have our dreams and no one can take them away.

                           "Oh Kizna???"said Zero as he trotted down the hall. "Dammit, where is she, she is never here when you want her and she is when you don't." Zero: I walk down the same halls through GOA every day and they have gotten really boring, it seems like it's been years since I have seen my colony. Although I haven't found out why, I am here for the time to make sure that Zion stays alive.

                             "There's definitely a smaller percentage of power contained in your EX!" "I still have a ways to go. I am not certain that I have complete control over it yet Clay." said Zero. "Well one thing, your EX is stronger than Hieads currently, so that should give you an advantage. Don't worry Zero, the way your going, I'd say that you become pilot soon." "Thanks Clay."said Zero walking off. "NEXT!" yelled Clay as another Candidate walked in. "Hmm, I never would have thought that Clay of all people would make it to the GOA staff. " "Hey Zero, over here!" "OK." "I finally caught up with you. The tests are done for today, I have a definite EX now!! HAHAH!"said Yamagi. "Yah do you have any idea what it is yet though?" asked Zero. "Well.......no, but I haven't found the thing to bring out my EX, so hell with it for now." "I see. I am going to study hall. You wanna come." "Can't, I have Pro-Ing classes, and then I promised Luz I'd take him and Wrecka to the relaxation room." "Ok. See ya later!" Zero walked down the hall, and turned the corner. Zero: The halls of GOA can be very crowded at times, today they are, for the monthly physical examination. Several times they have also been filled with the candidates that are staying for the Pro-Ing battles, but they are shut down today, after the last battle I fought with Hiead.

                           Zero: Study hall, is the place where they send us when either the instructors are to lazy to teach us anything today, or where they are to busy to fool with us. Today instructor has a conference meeting in the GOA Stadium Hall. "Must keep running........*pant* Oh....hi Zero." said Rei. "Hi yah. The main frame of the Pro-Ing was busted today, the new upgrades aren't coming for another week." "I hope they send them soon."said Rei. "So......I see your working out here." said Zero. "Yah, that last battle was way to close, besides I needed it." said Rei scratching his nose." "Those morons can't keep the EX to themselves." "I must admit I kinda slipped up in that last battle." said Rei. "I have to keep going, I'll catch you later, Ok?" "Sure, I'll see you around lunch time." Zero exited the room through the back.

                     "Azuma, you can not allow them to use their EX anymore. There have to be more demerits in the usage of EX."said the director. "I understand sir, but to do that would be to completely stop the battle tests, and those are very vital to their stats on becoming the goddess pilots." "Yes but the EX has evolved so much that it is to dangerous to GOA in order to let them use it flippantly and or as much as they want!" Azuma sighed and then stood up from his seat. "Friends there must be another way!" "There is, but we'd need to put a limiter on their Frames, that is why I have......" "But director, we have already gone through with this. Those new frames are too dangerous, if they were to have an EX Reaction during battle, they blow themselves up from all the contained and halted power!!" "I know that, but........." The Director paused then put his elbows on the table and held his head down, "....better them than the whole ship. It pains me to say this, but I feel that they are expendable.........." "DAMMIT!!" Azuma slammed his hands on the table. "You heartless bastard! They are just kids. Your life is more expendable than theirs." "I know I sounded cruel, but there are standard to be kept......." "STANDARD!?? If we still followed those standard than our top Goddess Pilot wouldn't be where she is today and Zion would have been destroyed by now! We still have to think of the candidates, we've torn them from their homes, and for what!?? To kill them ourselves??" "I'm sorry, but the board has already agreed to the decision." "You and your priority! It'll be the death of us all!!!!" "Dammit AZUMA!!!! I won't have this discussion with you!" "Cain...." said Azuma. "Cain?" "He was expendable to right.......you idiots let him DIE!!!!!!!!!" "Azuma, you are out of line sit down!!!" "NO!!! You sent him out there to fight, by himself!!!! And he's dead! You use these candidates as if they were items, expendable during battle!!!!!!!" "SHUT UP!!!!!" The director slammed his fist on the table. "Murderer......" said Azuma finally sitting down. "I will hear no more of this......the decision has been passed and all we can do is pray for their safety." "Damn you fools, your that blind." "Azuma, you are in charge of making sure that they can control their EX and halt it themselves." "Yes sir."

                            "Zero. I sense a victim!" "What's that Hiead?" "Don't give me shit. Their coming, expect a scramble about.............now." "Dammit!!! Why the hell are they coming now??" "Don't know. Let's get going. We've got a job to do."

                     "Uh what another one?" said Rei. "Yah, except we'll only be doing towing of the Z-Moder today."replied Kluze. "Fine with me. Just so long as I get to kick their ass!" Soon the whole GOA staff was in position. "Numbers 01 vessel.........launching!!" "Number 90 to the catapult." "Ok, Rei concentrate on the mission, we'll be briefed here in a sec." "Ok Number 90 Launch!!!!!!" "You aint seen nothing yet." The ride was a little sickening, but he made it without puking. "Ok candidates, the mission is short, but we need to support the five goddesses, and so.....all five newest candidates, you will be put in charge of towing the Z-Moder, do not move from your positions. I repeat....Absolutely do not move! Ok on my count." "The strategy is to stay put and use the long range fire from the new weapons we've received." said Keiko. "Pilots keep your thruster on when doing so as to not get thrown back by the force of the re-coil." "The Boss victim is going to be taken out by the Ingrids, do not engage any victim whatsoever with out permission of Instructor or a higher GOA staff member. " The five all replied,"Got it." "GOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!" Instructor yelled out the attack call. From a distance the candidates scrambled to their designated positions. Ok, let's go. Aim weapons!!! FIRE!" Soon the plasma shots from the  large 67-(A) Long Ranged Cannons could be heard. "Pilots, incoming Victim, type C take it out. It's coming from the port side section CC-159 were turning the ship to let you aim." "Standing by, all pilots, aim......FIRE!" "Here she comes." said Kluze. "Come on were missing." Tai slowly took aim and shot at the Victim. Another miss. Rei it's coming to your area, aim and take it out!!!!!!" "Just a little one eh?" Rei lifted his rifle and shot at the Victim, it dodged and soon they were swarming to that point. "What the hell??!!! We have a hoard of them coming this way. Watch your back." "Uh, no their headed straight for the Z-Moder!!" yelled Yamagata! "Take em' out NOW!!!!!"

                       "Number 01 and 02 split the group. I and mine will handle the smaller hoards, we'll provide cover for you until you reach the boss victim!" "Ok, number 15 through 67 come this way, we'll provide support for the goddesses. Aim for the boss Victim!!!" The group turned to the west and headed towards the Boss. Hiead and his group handled the stragglers that had broken from the normal formation of  Victim. "Ok taken out. Yamagi, keep these guys on their toes." "What's taking you so long Hiead. Shut up! I'm coming. Ok guys follow me." Hieads group took to the east as their maneuverable patterns got them past the larger but weak victim hoards. "OK ATTACK!!!!!" "Number 01, take your group and move to the sector 33-5A aim for the head section!!!" "Got it Goddess leader. You heard her. Let's move."

                      "Ok Ingrid  pilots, attack the previously candidate attack position. That should clear out the first layer of armor." Teela had rushed to the side of the Victim where the 01 Candidate Group had just recently been at. "Dammit! Ok, EX  Slinger!!!!" The EX of Teela took it's plite on the Victim, as the several bare spots of the inner skin of the victim began to show. "Number one watch your back several small victim headed your way!!!!!" said Riuroute. But unfortunately the victim had slammed themselves into Teela knocking her back. "Dammit! You alright number one?" "Yes, I've sustained a little damage to the right side of my frame but nothing fatal. Reena take it out if you can. Use your full fire missiles on it." "Gotcha! Ok, EX REENA'S RAGE!!!!!!!!!!!" "A large fire of smaller EX bullets shot from the body of Eeva Reena. The shots moved to the wound on the Victim. "Dammit, Candidate 02 take out those Victim who are trying to block the EX blasts. "Negative, that would put to much risk on the Candidates."replied Yu. "No, we can take them. Ok guys, watch for the blast as much as you can and take out those victim." "Nooo.....damn....it's hinder the attack more than those tiny victim!!!!" "Copy that, cancel attack." said Hiead moving his group to the out position. " The shot's made only one small hit and cause the Victim to scream. "Damn those smaller  victim." said Garu. "Shit, if we can't get that wound to open up some more, than we won't be able to take it out!" "Calm down, can you do another blast Garu Sir?" asked Erts. "No I'd have to wait for my energy to regain, that might be a while under these conditions." "Don't push yourself to much Gar, I'll set up a shield and buy us some time with those smaller Victim. We'll attack as soon as I deploy. " "Roger that Agi." "Ok for now, stall that thing and make sure it doesn't get to Zion. Riuroute, Erts and Yu, cover  me!" Garu started his attack run and drove out his drill sword. The large hoard of victim were soon decimated by the oncoming blasts of Zero's team. "Nice job, Candidate 01 remain on standby and keep shooting from where you currently are!" "Copy that Reena sir." Zero's team took their positions at the far side of the Victim (this is where they were currently) and joined up with Hieads team. "Ok Hiead, we need to stall that Victim. So Galloways can get his sorry butt in there to take out he Victim." "Stay on your toes guys."

                         "REI DON'T MOVE!!!!!!!" yelled Keiko. "No way, we can't just let the Moder take damage, that's to much anyways." Rei moved his position to where the oncoming victim were. "Come and get some." Rei held out his arms as the Victim slammed themselves into him. "Help him out, aim for the hoard!" "Augh....Augh uh....oof.......damn, they don't give up." Groans from Rei startled the whole ship." "Don't hog all the glory Rei said Kluze as he placed himself in the Victims paths as well." " Your bad...." said Rie taking another hit. "Damn these guys.....aurgh!" "Stay focused people," said Tai. "Hmph let's do this." "How much more can your armor take??" "About.....fifty percent!!" "Dammit she's going to overheat!" "Stay focused Yamagata!!! "Rui  retreat back to your post!!!" "Damn  you sure!!!" "Give us some support fire!" "The hoards getting smaller guys, just endure a little more.........."  "AUUUUURRRRGHHH!!!!!" "KLUZE!!!!!!!!!!!" In an instant, the  Kluze's vessel took a hit to his right arm, the explosion set of a chain reaction and caused his engine to explode. Kluze floated there with his vessel in pieces. "You all right?!!" "Ack.....my right arms busted up, and I'm bleeding!" "Ok stay there, I'll phone for help. Don't move." "I couldn't if I wanted to!"replied Kluze.  "Ok guys,  come on hold on, I'm going to  throw out my shield gun now!!!" Tai took the large  shield from his back then thrusted it forward. The bolts formed an energy shield that took care of the rest of the hoard. "That's it!! Were through." "Not quite........." said Keiko over the intercom. "I just received word form HQ Telling us to ready the  boosters and were going into live  battle, there we will retrieve the shot down candidates. "Ok, let's do it. "said Riu. "Wait a sec, the hoard there is getting larger so we'll have to start the attack run  from the back side!" " You think we'll be able to get throught that blockade."asked Amano. "Of course. Just send out a decoy!" "You got that Riu??" "Sure.....these guy want to play it rough...we'll give them rough all the way to hell and back!!!!!!"

                           "Dang these guy are good.....EAURGH!!!!!"  "Numbers 10 and 46 pull out and retreat immediately. "Yes sir.......good luck." "Ok take them out, I need Numbers 54 and 33 to keep their eye on the hoard incoming and blast the hell out of them once you see them!"said Zero. "Those bastards won't know what hit them." "Hurry it up." "Right. Were in position sir!" "Take aim and  fire!" "How's that boss victim going??"asked Yamagi. "It's still not there, we need to take out the incoming hoard their hindering the Goddesses from attacking the  Boss." "Candidate Groups 5 and 6 clear the area......Agi's about to deploy shields. " "Move.................incoming small victim......it's headed right for the  CC- 159 area!" "Hurry it up and take it out!!" "It's ok, the backup squad will handle them. Candidates 90 through 93 watch your bearings. "said Yamagi. "Shut up! Were doing the  best we can!!" "Victim is open for attack...........starting the Reena Rage technique again. " "Hey what's this...........there's something coming out of the right side of the Victim........Galloways sir get the hell outta there." Zero screamed as he rushed toward the large thin tentacle that thrusted for Garu. "DON'T LET IT GOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!" "AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!" The large tentacle thrusted through the cockpit Yamagi's  vessel. "Dammit......*cough* it hit the side of my chest, I'm.....*cough* bleed pretty badly. " "Yo! You also have an air leak. Sending out help sign for this one!" Said  Zero. "Yo candidates 90 and 93 get candidate 03 out of the field, requesting immediate back up for  medical proceeder!" "Moron.......don't die Yamagi!" said Zero. "I won't......."  "Riu cover our asses.....were going in!" Rei and Tai maneuvered throught the large hoard the hindered an easy pick up. "What the.........I said cover guys!" "I am.....their are Victim coming." "Ok. split!!" said Rei. "Were not going to make it!!!!!!"" What the hell!!!!!! More incoming  Victim Tentacles!!!!!!" "Candidates RETREA.................................." The whole section stood still for the  moment.............Zero's hair shown and glowed..................the same time Hiead showed up taking out the hundreds of tentacles that had sprouted from the  Victim's body. Time went back to normal. "What in the world happened?!" "More attacks coming out!!" Instructor:Candidates 56 though78 return to the main sector.......the rest of you fight and clear out those last remaining  Victim!!!  "Copy that. Ok guys concentrate on the hoard. GUN THEM DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!" Zero still winded from his EX Reaction picked up his rifle and shot frantically and soon the hoards were destroyed!!!!!" "Candidates retreat from  battle area!!" "What's going on with the  Victim!?" "Dammit.......send the candidates away.......it's going to  absorb anything that lays around it........" Garu launched forward. "Get out of there Tai!" "Damn It's...........too late!!!!!! Were going to be absorbed!!" The several surrounding candidates were being absorbed......."Come on you stupid thrusters!" The candidates tried frantically to speed up their boosters. This made some progress but the gravitational pull was too large and  was consuming their energy!" "Do something!!!!"yelled Keiko! "There's nothing we can do.......just hold on and keep putting more energy into the back thrusters!!!!!!" "It's not  working............damn......I didn't come this far to get sucked down to Oblivion!!!!!!" "Keep going!!!" said Riu. "Zero............get your but out of there...........it's not working at all the stupid back thrusters aren't powerful enough!!" "Stay calm candidates............Here I go again! REENA'S.................RAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" The EX bolts shot straight into the  Victim. It's damage was great on the large sized Victim and the blood from it was misting into the air......"What!!! It didn't work??" "Keep going.........and it's almost to Zion...........GET MOVING!!!!!!!!!!!!

               "Take cover, the Goddesses have ordered a retreat for all Pro-Ing." "If I wanted to retreat I would have done so already." replied Rei. "The thrusters have overheated, if you proceed with this anymore than I'm afraid you'll explode." "Dammit! Just my luck. Ok, Transfer all remaining energy into the back thrusters." Find me.......... "What........what the hell was that??" Rei turned to look up and saw a light slowly coming towards himself. "Find me.........look at me. You have the strength now use it to find me."  "It's that-it's that girl!" What strength do you have alone....... "Don't talk like that! I'm fine, all I need to do is.....use my EX! By gosh that's it!" Let me help you.........we will be one! "Ok show time." "Rei what the devil are you doing??!!!" Keiko screamed into the radio. "Don't do anything till I have transferred energy!" "Shut up! I can do this myself....no with her help." Rei's cockpit filled with EX. "What's........What's this feeling.........? Hiead do you feel that! Let us be one. Let us be one! "That girl," said Zero. "Ernn Laties! She is the  white goddess! I understand now! That girl is my power! EEEEAAUUUUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!" It was as if time itself had stopped. The whole hoard of victim had halted. "But who's that coming this way. Hiead?" "Get out of the way Zero!" "Shut up I'm here as well." said Rei following up behind him. "I'm taking out that boss victim!

                             "What is this! EX? Their reactions occurring with mine again?" Teela looking puzzled spoke into the radio."Crowe what's the current situation!?" "It's seems the three candidates have become one with their strength! It's now your time to use it." "EX! Got it. All pilots form a retreat. Pro-Ing turn to defense mode and open thruster output to 50%. " "Copy that!" "Roger"  Suddenly a flash of light shocked the whole battlefield. A large wave of EX overcame the Victim. It exploded into many pieces and soon the entire hoard disappeared. Rei and Hiead moved their vessels to the front line as their bodies bled. "What the hell? Rei what the hell happened to you?" "Don't give me crap. I don't want to talk right now." "But what happened to you?" asked Keiko. "I was..............a Goddess."  Unfortunately, that was all he could reply. After that he fainted and that was all that was heard. "Crowe what happened?" "Teela this might be it. The ones of which we were waiting for." "It is close"........."Yes perhaps very soon. I will be able to become them."

                    All their is to be....I will be you and you me. "But what do you mean......" Now awake. You are me......you are me......you are me......... "But wait! Wait!" "Wait!!!!!!!!!" "Wait?? What are you talking about Zero?" Zero sprang up from his bed to see Kizna sitting by him. "Where did she go! That women." "Women! You must be more hurt than we thought. Were you dreaming??" "Yes......but it......it was so real. I can't explain it. But somehow I was able to destroy that Victim." "What?? Your joking right. " Zero looked down at his wrist. What the.......uh! What is this mark." "What mark. I don't see anything?" Kizna sat back in her chair. "You are delusional. I'm not surprised you lost so much blood." "Shut up. I'm not see ing things." "Then what the heck happened out their??" "I was with someone. I layed out their in that  vast sea. I floated and then a girl or someone........it was as if someone took me by the hand and pulled out all of my energy." Zero put his hand on his forehead. "That's all I remember." "You saw it too." said Hiead standing outside the door. "Hmph.....your so pathetic." "You don't get it do you?!" "I couldn't believe it either." Rei walked into the room by Zero's bedside. "You too?!" exclaimed Zero. "I'm not sure why, but their is a reason. We are here for a reason." Rei sat down in the second chair. "Actually this isn't so bad! I have what I wanted. A little more EX power." said Rei. His bandaged arms touched the table. "But I'm afraid, my body might not be ready for it. He pulled back the bandages on his wrist to reveal a small crest. "It's there. I can see it, I'm not sure what it is, but it's there." said Rei. "Her name was Reena...........Eeva Reena."

                                  The inside of the battles, the outline of the war. The planet that I am fighting for. All those things have become my life. Who is this girl name Laties. What is the goddess. Why.........Why am I me? Why? Next time on pilot candidate.....
