The year is 3524AD. Mankind has left the planets to settle in large living quarter spaceships known as colonies. Life went on pondering the many mysteries the universe had to offer. Among these, stood the alien creature now known as Victim. Not posing as a threat to man at the time, were forgotten and left alone.

4015AD: Victim for some reason have been attacking and destroying planets and the surrounding colonies for quite sometime. The survival of the human race is now more important than ever. Seeing a large mistake been made in ignoring Victim, Dr Crowe Revord has created large humanoid vessels in order to keep the last remaining star or Zion alive. In order to find pilot the vessels known as Ingrids or Goddesses, a large organization has been formed in order to train young men to pilot the Ingrids. Once a year the surrounding colonies send five of their best young eligible men in the battle against victim.

4045AD: Five new candidates have been chosen. Among these are:85Luz Sawamora,86 Yamagi Kucheed, 87 Hiead Gner, 88 Zero Enna, 89 Clay Cliff Fortran. These have all met candidate standards and have been training for almost six months. Two have already almost made it to becoming a pilot. Because of their strange cases in which they have no Atomic (defects of the body,) they have earned their right to harness the hidden power known as EX and are able to control it to their advantage. So far they have been on edge with the instructor and have almost earned their ranks as the Top Five Candidates. Artes Willne Coctoe, former top candidate has left to become a commission goddess pilot. After an ordeal in which his older brother gave his life for humanities existence and for Garease Elead, another pilot. So because of this games have been held as a result of the finding of a new top candidate. Now down to the last five to survive the maylay Pro Ing battles they now fight for their ranking in the top five Candidate position . Who will get to be the Top.

The stakes are high as Zero made his way toward the hall. His heart beat fast as he knew that today was the day of the judging of the top candidate. His repairer Kizuna Towryk stood in the hangar waiting for the moment to launch. "Today's the day!" said Zero. "Yes but remember that the battle starts in a little bit so do your best." "Ok, I promised Artes I would surpass him and make it." "Well do him proud."

"I hope I will." said Zero. Zero thinking of Artes stopped and said to himself,"Artes today is the day I surpass you." He walked on as his mind continued to ponder in mystery as his mind filled with what if's"

In another room Instructor Azuma Hijikata waited for orders of Dr.Revord. "Doctor,our statistics show that we have five remaining candidates for the Top. They are Number 71 Chark Mansor, 35 Jole Cartsa ,86 Yamagi Kucheed, 88 Zero Enna and finally 87 Hiead Gner. These boys will have a final match to determine the top candidate and the rest to see who is ranked in the top 5 candidates." "So the three newer candidates aren't as 'wet behind the ears' as we thought they were." "Yes , they have all completed the tests. We'll have to see how they do.

"Alright Zero , this is it. Now remember not to freak just because your not able to settle down." said Kizuna. "You don't have to remind me." said Zero." I think I'll manage to get this guy back in one piece." "You'd better or you'll be better of not coming back." " Well all we have to do is listen for the signal to launch." said Kizuna putting the Pro-Ing head gear on Zero. "Get in there and do your best." Zero didn't hesitate to close the hatch on the Pro-in. Finally the alarm sounded as Zero made his way to the catapult. "Outside airlock open!!" "88 ready to launch."

Zero launched out as his mind of strategy awoke. Over the radio he could hear Instructor,"Alright candidates the reason you are here is to determine the rankings of the top five candidates. Do as you please in exception for killing. The object is to survive by forcing your opponent to give up or lose battery power and energy. Good luck. BEGIN!!" Kizuna began pounding away at the keys in front of her. When outside Zero was almost overwhelmed by the hot heated battle. The battle raged as Chark who was the closest to win was ganged up on. "Vessel 71 withdrawing!" said his repairer. From there on it was every man for himself. Yamagi closed in on Zero and fired his gun. "Shake him off Zero!!" Zero finally losing Yamagi headed for Jole Cartsa. Jole taking aim fire several shots at Zero. The rain of shots came down heavy on Zero. Two or three blasts hit him as he rammed Jole in the chest and knocked him unconscious. "ZERO BEHIND YOU!!" yelled Kizuna. Zero had forgotten about Yamagi who was ready to strike Zero with his sword. But suddenly a blast from behind hit Yamagi in the energy pack and canceled Yamagi from the battle. "Number 89 Craft operation Cease. Zero the only one left is.." "Zero!! To test our EX strength." said Hiead. "Don't get any ideas Hiead. I intend to take you down!!!" Zero dropped his gun. He pulled his sword and thrusted it at him. Hiead dodged it. Hiead not hesitating pulled his sword as well and began the duel. The swords clashed together as the battle continued. "Zero your sword can't keep this up. Do something and make it quick!!" said Kizuna. "ZERRROOOOOO!!!!!!!" yelled Hiead as he hit Zero as hard as he could on the shoulder with his blade. "AAAUGHHHH!!" Zero yelled as his shoulder began to be full of pain. "Cutting circuits 3 and 4. Support on the way Zero." said Kizuna. Kizuna worked quickly because she couldn't keep up with what was going on outside. Hiead didn't stop the attack. He continued hitting Zero with his sword.

"Darn you!!" yelled Zero. Blood began to drip from his right arm. "I'm not sure how much more of this I can take." Zero felt the need to faint but picked himself up and was hit down again. Zero began to take this opportunity to analyze Hieads attack. "UH!! There's a lull in his attack!" thought Zero."If I can just stand one more hit , I'll have the chance to strike him myself. "Zero! Say you give up. I'm the better fighter." said hiead after he struck him. Zero's chance came. Taking his sword by his side he began a slice as he yelled," LIKE HELL!!!" Zero struck hiead in the chest knocking the wind out of him. "Zero now !!" yelled Kizuna. "RIGHT!! EAT THIS!!" Zero took Hiead in an arm lock and was ready to rip out his energy pack but Hiead overcame Zero and hit Zero unconscious. "Hah!!The battle is mine." said Hiead. "ZERO WAKE UP. WE DIDN'T GET THIS FAR TO LOSE. REMEMBER WHAT YOU PROMISED ARTES.NOW WAKE UP!!" At that moment Zero exclaimed," That's right. My promise to Artes to surpass him. Hiead your goin' down!!" Zero's hair began to glow and as his EX began to grow so did his energy readings. Hiead who was very mad had an EX reaction as well. In a great flash of light , the two Pro-Ings collided. The dust cleared. Both of them seemed unconscious. But Zero raised his hand to reveal Hiead's energy pack.

"Zero Enna. Number 88. I now dub thee top candidate of GOA. You now have the authority over the new recruits who will be here in about a month. Hiead Gner. Number 87 . You are now the second ranked candidate.

Your runner up. If Zero is to be commissioned as a pilot or dies you will be next in line. Company Salute!!" yelled Instructor. Cheers began to roam over the crowd. Zero now top candidate was ready for the next years ahead." Zero by the way. You ranked higher than the recent top candidate Artes Willne Coctoe. Congratulations." "Thank you. Artes I'll be with you soon. Just wait a little longer."

" Hey watch it ya moron!" "Bring it on Rei I can take you on any day. " Fighting isn't allowed. " "RECRUITS LINE UP FOR ROLL CALL.

Number 90, REI CLOU?" "Here!" "NUMBER 91, TAI SARO!" "Here!" "Number 92,Kluze Carone!" "Here!" "Number 93 Yamagata Clayden!" "Here!" "LAST RIU SASHOMU?" "Here!" "Good now line up. Were almost there. The small landing crafts entered the large vessel. "Ladies welcome to hell." "Gees you didn't have to be so blunt!" said Rei. "Stop yacking and line up. First stop decontamination. " Excuse me for asking a dumb question, but what's decontamination?"

"Dammit lay off of me. HELP OLD MANNN!!!" Number 90 I'm not an old man. Sometimes I'm the transport captain, sometimes I'm your mother.

I'm your drill instructor Azuma Hijikata." "Hold still. You little wafe!" said the Decontaminator. "Hey watch the hair!!" "Done! You look and smell allot better than you did when you first walked in here. " "To tell you the truth my mother does a better job!" "Get outta here you ungrateful wretch before I shave you bald." "Yikes! Someone needs a nap." "Number 90 get going to the auditorium and wait oh and here you'll need this." "What's this stupid coat for?" "Dammit shut up and put it on it's a dress code. Idiot now get moving!!!" "OK OK!"

REI: I'm Rei Clou. Although its been my dream to come here, I never imagined that I'd be here like this. So far my experience has been the same. Walk in get yelled at, walk out. I lead a pretty exciting life.

"This place is huge!!" "REI!! wait up. Man that guy back there. As loopy as they come." "Kluze if you could be any place else other than this where would it be?" "Back home in my nice room." "Me too. We have to spend three years in training here." I know but .." "QUIET OVER THERE! The admission ceremony is about to begin."

"Common, the rooms this way!" "Dammit I hurrying as fast as I can." said Rei. "This is it?!!" "Well I suppose we'll be sharing rooms." said Kluze. "Man that's creepy." said Rei. "Hey what's that supposed to mean?" replied Kluze. "Anyway we'll have to live with it." "Move it!" yelled Tai. "You really are looking for a bruisin' aren't you." "Yes and I am not expecting it from you!" "Shut up you jerk!" exclaimed Rei.

" Forget it guys well get in trouble if we fight." said Kluze. "In your manuals it should state that fight in GOA is strictly forbidden." "Rats I knew this would be a drag." said Rei. "SIGH" "You'll just have to manage non-violent attitudes until after we get done with our tests." said Kluze. " So Kia, it's a date then." "Sure then." "RECRUITS." "AUGH!" "You scared the crap outta me!" "Shut up! Fall in for the night. Tomorrow you start your tests. " "Darn it and I was going to go sight seeing." "This isn't a tourist trap!" "No more like a death trap!!" Suddenly a large impact blast hit GOA, causing trembling in the stabilizer. "See what I mean!" "It's victim!" "WOW!!" "I gotta bad feeling about this one." "Dammit out of the way. Hey where's the nearest observatory?" asked Rei. "Down the hall and to the right." said Kluze. "Full of energy and so much enthusiasm." " Hey wait he was, oh never mind." said Instructor as he ran towards the hall entrance.

"Zero, this one is not like all others. According to the data transfer it is a type unknown. There is absolutely no info or stats on this one. " said Kizuna. "Alright so its new so what. " "Just be careful." "I will. " Immediately the victim hoard began to fire at the Pro-Ing. "Victim in area blue 2, almost to barrier. Ok candidates this victim hoard is headed for Zion, what else is new. Attack patterns are the same except for the Boss victim good luck." said the dispatcher. "Group 6 you take area Green 3. Groups 4 and 5 come with me. " said Zero. "In any case I've already written my will. Dammit their firing . " Several blast from victim came lurching forward. " "Group 4 take these victim. Numbers 15 take the lead." The Pro-Ing Group broke in half as one group shot towards the Victim hoard. "Hey Zero watch it up ahead!" exclaimed candidate 47. Looking towards the front Zero could see several Victim groups charging at them. "Alright guys draw you rifles and fire. " "Sir Victim leader headed here. " "Just stand your ground. The Five Goddesses will handle him*gulp* , I hope."

"Rhuma Krane, do you find the weak point? " " Unfortunately no sir. We'll just have to fight it until it is destroyed. " "Yu ! If we can get into that shield of it then maybe we can kill it." said Galloo. "Dammit Eeva Reena get out of there. Incoming blast from Victim. "yelled Riu Route. "Now's our chance. Yu , Riu Route cover me. " Suddenly the pilots could see Galloo charging in . The victim boss swerved around the others as it began a second blast of energy. " Dammit those other Victim aren't helping at all. " "The Pro-Ing can handle them. Just concentrate on the Victim Leader. " "Gotcha, Reena send crate number three. I 'll blow him away with my Particle cannon." "Sure thing. " " Those Victim can't make it to Zion no matter what. " "Hell with it all, lets just kill this thing so we can do lunch." "Moron! Can't you think of any thing other than your stomach!" "Guys is that a good thing its tail is twitching. " Artes could see some sort of electric wave forming when the tail began to sputter. " Could that be its weakness?"

"Hurry up guys the energy reading on my rifles almost out!" said Zero. "Hey that was the last one. We might have our work cut out for us? How's group 4 doing?" asked candidate 47." "They just finished off their hoard. There's still the boss Victim . How's the data on it going 86?" "Sir the data sent proves the theory that the tail is the weakness." "Hey Hiead tell groups 1 and 2 to follow you to the Boss Victim. " "The hell? We'll get killed." "Just do it. I've got an idea . " "Vessel Pro - Ings please come and give us support fire. Aim for the tail. " said Number One. "Dammit she stole my idea. You heard er' lets go.

"Eeva Reena get behind it and cover me!!" yelled Yu. "Common Victim!! LETS DANCE!!" Galloo shot around behind victim. as it came closer Yu drew his sword and cut its underbelly. Blood from it sprayed around and then stopped. "Dammit someone's going to have to clean up this mess. It'll take just a little more time before the Pro- Ing get here. Then you'll really get it. " said Gareas. "Yo !!! I'm sending out my shields again. Galloo, aim for the tail. Help the Pro-Ing kill its tail!!" "I'm not going to baby sit!!! O.k. I'll go but I won't like it." "Dammit Galloo quit being such a big baby." yelled Reena over the intercom!

"Alright Arms up ready ...........Fire!!!!!!" Shots from the Pro-Ing sprayed across the battle field. Hitting its tail the victim screamed and then started to shoot blast again. "Shield gun deploy." Yelled Yamagi pulling it off his back. "Pro-Ing !! Go into retreat mode. That is all you can do!!" said Teela. " Ok lets go."

Teela quickly drew her sword and thrusted it upward and cut off the Victims battered tail. The Victim then screamed again and charged at her. She peered into it's eyes and charged. The last thing it saw was Teela's bright gleaming sword , and a thrust . An explosion shocked the field and then the victim was no more! Zero looked back in amazement. He turned to look forward and then landed in the cockpit . What was that Victim? Why did it advance in the way it did? Are they changing their strategy?

Rei: I felt it? The explosion, the charge of EX. What is wrong ,why is it I feel like this. GOA is very different. My thought and feelings go out towards the battle field. I was a born fighter. But why do I feel like this. Is it this strange power, EX? But why must we fight. Is there meaning for this. Victim, is there no end to stopping you? I will. I will be the one to kill you and send you to hell! I will if it's the last thing I do.

Next Time On Pilot Candidate: Towards the stars there is GOA. There, young men must push themselves to their limits. The new one will work hard for their training. But the loss of others may slow them down? Will they give up will they surcome to their loss?
