The New Candidates, New Dangers
He started to walk past the top candidates. “You are all dismissed to
your class”, he said, “Are you guys coming to watch the match?” “Sure
why not”, said Force, “This should be interesting.” They all walked out
and were walking to the Pro-ing when Zero asked Lilly a question. “Why
are you guys here?”, he asked Lilly. “We’re here for some special
project like Azuma told you”, Lilly told him. “You do know that Hiead is the
highest ranked one out of our class”, said Zero, “You’ll have a hard
time trying to beat him since you don’t know how to operate the Pro-ing.”
“No I won’t”, said Lilly, “Even though I don’t know how to operate the
Pro-ing now, I still have a trick that I use for show. If I use it,
Hiead should feel very unlucky.” They were at the training room. They went
in and Azuma instructed them where to go. Crystal and Ikhny went to the
repairer’s stations. Lilly and Hiead went and got into the Pro-ings.
They appeared in the battle arena. “Okay”, said Azuma, “We’re going to
fight until someone is unable to fight or is cornered without an escape.
Ready, Go!” Lilly and Hiead took defensive positions. “You really
should give up”, Hiead told Lilly, “You’ll experience your first defeat.”
“Bring it on then”, said Lilly, “I know all about your Ex reactions. What
you don’t know is that I also have Ex, but it’s way more powerful than
yours.” “We’ll just see about that!”, Hiead said as he ran toward
Lilly. He slammed a punch right into Lily’s stomach. Lilly didn’t even
flinch. “Is that the best you can do?”, Lilly asked him, “You are as weak as
I thought.” “Hey Lilly”, said Crystal, “Why don’t you bring out your
specialty?” “Hmm.”, Lilly thought for a moment, “I guess. I am anxious to
show off. I did act my age during the ceremony and now I’m going to
have some fun.” “Go for it”, Crystal told Lilly, “You did keep to your
word.” “Yes”, said Lilly. She stuck her hand out in front of her. “What
are you doing?”, Hiead asked Lilly, “You look really dumb.” “We’ll see
about that”, Lilly said. Her hand started to glow. A watery line started
come from Lilly’s palm. “What is that?”, Azuma asked Crystal, “Is that
her special attack?” “Oh no”, said Crystal, “It’s just a little
enhancement that Lilly uses to make her enemies scared. but it is powerful
weapon.” “Crystal”, Lilly said, “I want you to increase the speed on this
thing to its maximum.” “What?”, said Force, “No one is able to control
the Pro-ing at its maximum speed. She’s crazy.” “Okay”, said Crystal.
She increased the speed to as far as it could go. “Now you’re in
trouble”, said Lilly. She disappeared from sight. “Where is she?”, Hiead asked
Ikhny, “Can’t you pick up her signal anywhere?” “She going too fast for
any of the sensors to pick her up”, she told Hiead, “I can’t help you
unless you can slow her down a little bit.” “No problem”, said Hiead.
His Ex started to come on. “I can go just as fast as she can”, he said
with a smirk on his face, “You’re a goner.” “Lilly is going just about
half as fast as she can run”, said Crystal, “Can I go next Azuma?” “Yeah
if you can find an opponent”, Azuma told her, “If Lilly doesn’t damage
Hiead’s Pro-ing, you can go against Hiead if he wants to.” “Did you
hear that Lilly?”, Crystal asked Lilly, “Don’t damage the Pro-ing too
much.” “I didn’t plan on laying a hand on the Pro-ing”, Lilly said, “I just
want to corner him so he can’t escape. Should I use the Water Whip
yet?” “I want to fight soon”, said Crystal, “So just keep that in mind
while your fighting. But I’ve got a better idea. Why don’t you use the
tornado?” “Okay”, said Lilly.
Lilly started to go faster around the arena. “Why don’t you stop
running around and face me?”, Hiead asked Lilly, “Are you afraid that I’m
more powerful than you?” “If you’re more powerful than me”, Lilly said,
“Then why can’t you see me?” A slight wind started to circle around
Hiead. It started to get bigger and higher. Soon the wind had turned into a
tornado. Hiead was flying in the air helpless. the wind stopped when
Lilly stopped running. Hiead fell to the ground with a thud. He got up
shaking with anger. “She’s done it now”, said Yamagi, “Hiead is way past
mad. He is not one to mess around with.” Hiead stood up and turned to
face Lilly. “Oh boy I think I made him mad”, Lilly said tauntingly,
“What is the matter with losing for once? Are you trying to become a
Goddess pilot without being defeated?” “What if I am?”, Hiead asked Lilly,
“It doesn’t matter to you anyway. What I do is what I do.” “You will
never became a Goddess pilot even if you become the top candidate”, said
Lilly, “If you learn nothing about losing and learning from your mistakes
you will never make a good pilot if you stay like you are right now.
That is why it will be easy for me to win. In fact I’ve all ready won
this match. Look at your right shoulder.” Hiead looked at his right
shoulder. There was a water lily sitting there. Hiead raised his hand to
shake it off of him. “I wouldn’t do that”, Lilly told him, “That’s a bomb
that will explode upon impact or if I press this button.” Hiead placed
his hand at his side. “I guess the match would go to Lilly”, said Azuma.
Lilly and Hiead went to go and get out of the Pro-ings. When Lilly and
Crystal got up with the rest of the group, everyone was shocked. “So
how did you do that?”, Azuma asked Lilly, “Where did that water lily
come from?” “You remember my Water Whip?”, Lilly asked him, “Well I simply
turned it into a water lily, which is my favorite flower. It was simple
to do, but wasn’t so simple to master.” “How could you use that on a
colony?”, Sure asked them, “The colonies wouldn’t have been able to
survive the blast that a bomb would give off.”
“Who said we made this at the colony?”, Crystal asked him, “We didn’t
test it while we were on the colony. We went forward in time and tested
it.” “Is that even possible?”, Erts asked them, “How did you go into
the future and what was it like?” “We made a time travel machine”, said
Lilly, “I always wear it around my neck so no one can take it. Crystal
has one too. We never take it off. As for the future, it’s some what
like now, but there are more planets.” “Are they like Zion?”, Kizna asked.
“Some are”, said Crystal, “Most of them aren’t though. There are only
four planets other than Zion. One of them is like Zion. The others don’t
have a breathable atmosphere. So what else is there to do here?”
“Nothing but training”, said Sure, “You don’t really get any free time
because of all the training that you take.” “Well this place is going to wear
me out real fast”, Lilly told Crystal, “How am I going to keep in my
usual state?” “I guess you’ll just have to adjust”, Crystal replied,
“It’s not like the world’s going to end. You just have to cut back on the
activities you do, mainly watching television.” “You are suggesting the
impossible”, Lilly replied, “I cannot stop watching television! It’s
impossible!” “What’s television?”, Roose asked, “Is that a new kind of
food?” “You don’t know what a television is?”, Lilly asked with her voice
shaky, “Tell me you have a faintest idea what a television is.” “No”,
said Roose, “What is a television?” “I think I’m going to be sick”,
Lilly told Crystal. “A television is screen where you watch images off of.
The images are generated by little lights.” “That’s enough small talk”,
Azuma said, “I have most of the battle data that I need. You just need
to go through the simulation. Then I’ll be able to figure out which
class to put you in.” “Where are we going now?”, Lilly asked Azuma as they
walked down the hall, “I’m getting hungry.” “Would you stop whining?”,
Crystal asked Lilly, “You’re fourteen for goodness sake. Would you at
least act like it?!”
“Well”, Lilly said, “I’m sorry for upsetting the princess. I forgot
she has to have everything her way.” “You know what”, Crystal said, “You
have been on my nerves since we were on the way here. You are
really asking for-”
Lilly’s and Crystal’s heads jolted up. “Did you feel that?”, Lilly
asked Crystal. Crystal nodded. “You don’t think they followed us here?”,
Crystal asked Lilly, “If they did then G.O.A. is in trouble.” “What
follow you?”, Force asked them, “Who are you talking about?” “Where can we
see Zion?”, Lilly asked Azuma. “In the observation room”, he said, “Why
do you need to see Zion?” “To see if the Goddesses get dispatched”,
Crystal said, “We think someone followed us. If it is who we think it is,
the Goddesses don’t stand a chance.” Lilly and Crystal took off running
toward the observation room. The others ran after them. How could he
follow us to this time? Lilly asked herself. If he succeeds in taking out
the Goddesses then Zion is going to go too. They ran into the
observation room. When the others had finally caught up to them, they found
Lilly and Crystal at the window looking pale. “What’s the matter?”, Zero
asked them. Then he spotted the Goddesses fighting in space “Who are they
fighting?”, Kizna asked, “I don’t see any victims in the area.” “They
are fighting the ultimate victim”, Lilly said, “They won’t be able to
beat him.” “Why not?”, Sure asked them, “The Goddess pilots wouldn’t let
any victims get to Zion.” “It’s not about how good the pilots are or
how powerful their Ex is”, Crystal said, “This victim comes from the
future. He can only be defeated by someone that is not suppose to be in
this world.” “Where are we going to find someone like that?”, Hiead asked
them. “You’re looking at the people”, Force said, “They have to do it.”
“How did you know?”, Lilly asked him, “How did you know that me and
Crystal have to do it?” “It really wasn’t that hard to figure out”, Force
told them, “You did say that you have a time machine. That was all I
needed to know.” “Well”, Lilly said, “Azuma can me and Crystal go and
help? We are the only ones who know how to beat this victim.” “Fine go”,
Azuma said, “Just come back alive.”
“Are you ready Crystal?”, Lilly asked. Crystal nodded. “Which way are
we going to use to do this?”, Crystal asked, “Do you want to do this
using the suits or not?” “I guess we should do it without the suits”,
Lilly said, “It will cut back on the energy we need to use.” She turned to
the others. “You might want to go to the back wall”, she said, “We
don’t want you to get hurt.” After everyone was on the back wall, Lilly
pulled a compact out of her pocket. “Here catch”, Lilly told Kizna, “I
need you to hold on to that while I’m gone. After we start fighting, if
you open it you can see what’s going on.” She turned back to the window.
“We might as well get this over with”, Crystal said. The bands on their
arms lit up. They floated off of their arms and took form. The red one
became flames. The white one became a ball of wind. The green one
became flower petals. The blue one became water. “We call upon the power of
the four main elements”, Lilly and Crystal said in unison, “Help us in
our quest to take out the ultimate victim. Help us now!”
The bands shot at Lilly and Crystal. A white and green light started
to engulf Crystal. At the same time, a red and blue light started to
engulf Lilly. Crystal shot out the window. Lilly followed her. Once they
were gone, the candidates and Azuma went over to the window. There
wasn’t a hole to tell that someone just went through the window. “Those are
two amazing girls”, Azuma said to himself, “They might be the ones we
need.” They saw a huge explosion from far away. Then a white and blue
light floated toward G.O.A. It entered the observation room and landed
behind everyone. When the balls of light were near the ground, they
disappeared. Lilly and Crystal fell to the ground. Everyone ran over to
them. Azauma tried to wake the two girls up. When they wouldn’t wake up,
Azuma went to get Dr. Croford. “I want all of you to stay here and make
sure nothing happens”, Azuma said before ha left, “If anyone asks what
you are doing here tell them that no one but you are suppose to be in
here. Tell them it’s a special lesson that I’m teaching.” Then he left.
“What are suppose to do now?”, Kizna asked, “Isn’t there anything we
can do to help?” “The only thing we can do is wait for Azuma to get
back”, Force said, “That is the best thing we can do right now.” “What’s
going on with them?”, Zero asked, “It looks like they’re having an Ex
reaction.” “Zero it looks like you are too”, Kizna said pionting at Zero’s
hair, “So is Hiead.” It was true. Zero and Hiead were having an Ex
reaction. Lilly and Crystal were having one also. But what is causing
this?, Clay asked himself, How can Zero, Hiead, Lilly, and Crystal all have
Ex reactions at the same times without being in battle?
