The New Candidates, New Dangers
“Whoa”, said fourteen-year-old Lilly, “I never thought Zion could be
so big!” Lilly had just been transferred from her home in the colony to
become a goddess pilot.. “When are we going to be at G.O.A.?”, asked
Crystal, Lilly’s sister. Crystal and Lilly were chosen out of all the
people living in their colony for a special project. “We should be there
any minute”, said Azuma watching for the light to signal that they had
docked, “You should sit down Lilly.” “Why?”, Lilly asked, “I want to see
more of Zion first.” “You’ll be able to see plenty of Zion once we’re
docked”, Crystal told Lilly as she pulled her from the window into the
seat next to her, “You need to start acting like your age.” “Just
because I’m fourteen doesn’t mean that I’m going to act like it”, Lilly said
hotly, “I want to have fun in my life if you don’t mind. You need to
learn how to relax and have some fun once in a while.” “Just do one thing
for everyone”, said Crystal. “And what would that be?”, Lilly asked
still mad. “Behave yourself and act your age for once at the ceremony.”
“Don’t worry about me”, Lilly said smiling, “What’s the worst I can do?”
“With the level of power that you have and the way you act”, Crystal
said, “You’re prone to blow up G.O.A. if you aren’t careful.” “Fine”,
said Lilly, “I’ll behave myself and act my age this one time and I’ll keep
my power level lower than I usually do.” “That’s all I ask for”, said
Crystal, “I’ll do the same since this is going to kill you.” How did I
get myself into this, Azuma asked himself, I wish that light would come
on. The light lit up and the ship stopped moving.
The doors opened. “Come on”, Azuma told Crystal and Lilly, “Get your
stuff and let’s go. I want to get off of this thing as soon as possible.
You still have to go and get cleaned up.” Lilly and Crystal got their
stuff and followed Azuma. They started to walk down the hall. They were
looking at the hallways and the things that were around them. They
walked into Azuma because they weren’t paying attention. “You should tell
us when you’re going to stop”, Crystal told Azuma, “We wouldn’t have to
walk into you if you did.” “You are to go and get checked out”, Azuma
told them, “Then go to your dorm and get dressed so you can go to the
ceremony.” Then Azuma left them, walking down the hall. “What are we
going to do?”, Lilly asked Crystal, “Are we supposed to go in?” “Might as
well”, Crystal replied. They were about go in when the doors opened and
a young girl walked out. “You must be the new candidates”, the girl
said. Lilly and Crystal nodded. “Come in”, she said leading them inside,
“We have been waiting for you to come. Dr. Croford, the new candidates
are here.” “Okay”, a female voice said from another part of the room,
“Get them cleaned up and number them.” “Okay”, said the girl. She turned
and faced Lilly and Crystal. “First we’ll have you take showers and
then we’ll fix your hair”, she said handing Lilly and Crystal towels,
“Come on. You have to be ready a half hour before the ceremony. Go in here
and take your shower. There’s soap in there already.” “We already have
soap”, said Lilly pulling it out of her bag, “We also have shampoo and
conditioner.” “Okay”, said the girl shrugging, “Use your soap. Just
take the shower and hurry up. Then she left them. Lilly looked at Crystal
with a puzzled look on her face. “Let’s just take a shower and get this
over with”, said Crystal. She went into one of the doors. The sound of
water soon filled the room. Lilly went into the other door shaking her
head. Soon the sound of water filled the room that she was in.
While Lilly and Crystal were getting ready, Azuma was with a class,
informing them about the ceremony. “We have some new recruits”, he told
his class, “I want you to behave yourself during the ceremony.” “Why do
we have new recruits?”, Kizna asked, “Don’t we have enough candidates?”
“They are for a special top secret project that I don’t even know
about”, Azuma explained, “So I want you to get dressed in you ceremony robes
and be in the hall where ceremonies are held. In fifteen minutes.”
Everyone started to run out of the room. They were running down the halls
to their dorms. “Who do you think the new recruits are?”, Zero asked
Clay, “I wonder what class they’re going to be in.” “We should just worry
about making it to the ceremony hall on time”, Clay answered. The boys
and girls separated themselves from each other and went into two doors
across from each other. When they were all back out in the hall and
dressed, they started to walk to the hall. When they got there, they saw
that they weren’t the only ones that were tired. It looked like everyone
got the news just a few minutes ago. Once they were in their lines they
waited for the new recruits to come.
Lilly and Crystal had just got dressed and were finishing their
decontamination. “Don’t touch the hair”, Lilly said, “If you do and I find
out about it, you’ll be sorry you ever saw me.” “Same goes for you I
assume”, said the man that was assigned fixing their hair. “Yes”, said
Crystal, “Do we just wear the clothes that we had on or are we given new
one?” “Since we don’t have any clothes made for female candidates”, said
Dr. Croford as she walked in, “I would appreciate if you could find
something nice to wear.” “You are the nicest person that we’ve met here so
far”, Lilly said, “Is everyone like that here?” “No”, said Dr. Croford,
“We have a lot of different people here that have different attitudes.
Not everyone is nice. Do you know your way to the hall?” “Yeah”, said
Crystal, “I know the way. Come on Lilly. Thanks Dr. Croford” Crystal and
Lilly walked out of the room. “How did she know my name?”, Miche asked
Dr. Croford, “You didn’t tell them that you were the doctor here, did
you?” “No”, said Dr. Croford, “I didn’t. How did she know that?”
“Where are we going anyway”, Lilly asked Crystal, “Are you sure you
know where we are and where we’re suppose to go?” “Yeah”, said Crystal,
“I’m taking us in the back way instead of the way we’re originally
suppose to go. You don’t want to spoil the surprise do you?” “Not really”,
said Lilly smiling, “I guess I should tell him.” “Wait”, said Crystal,
“Use Star to hack in and give him the message.” “Why”, Lilly asked, “Why
can’t I just give him the message the easy way? He already knows about
our physic abilities. It was on our form that the colony sent in.”
“Fine”, said Crystal, “Just make it quick.” Lilly closed her eyes and tried
to find Azuma. “I found him”, Lilly told Crystal opening her eyes.
Azuma, we’re on our way to the hall, Lilly told him mentally, We should be
there in a few minutes. We’re going to go in the back way.
Back at the hall, the candidates were beginning to become anxious.
“Zero”, said Kizna, “Can you act right at a ceremony for once?” “I would if
these uniforms weren’t making me so hot”, said Zero, “You would think
that we’re going to freeze in here. Where are those new recruits?
Shouldn’t they be here already?” “Maybe they got lost like you did on the
first day”, Clay teased. “I did get lost”, Zero replied angrily, “You
still don’t believe me do you?” Azuma stepped up to the front. ‘The new
recruits are on there way here”, he told everyone, “I want you to get back
into your lines.” Everyone continued to talk. Azuma was losing his
patience. “Get back into your lines and don’t say a word”, he yelled at
everyone. Everyone got into their lines without saying a word. Someone
walked up to Azuma and told him that Lilly and Crystal had arrived.
“Okay”, said Azuma, “The new recruits have arrived. There are only two, but
they are skilled. #98 Crystal Hamiya. Age 15.” Crystal walked out and
faced everyone. “Whoa”, said Zero under his breath, “I wonder who the
other person is.” With light blue hair pulled back in a bun and clothes to
match her hair, she turned almost everyone’s head. When she finally
opened her eyes, they were the same ice blue as her hair and clothes. “The
other recruit”, said Azuma, “Is #99 Lilly Hamyia. Age 14. Lilly and
Crystal are sisters, by the way.” Lilly walked to the front and faced the
crowd. She had fiery light red hair and a red outfit to match it. Her
eyes weren’t red though. They were a light purple color. “These are our
new recruits”, said Azuma, “I expect you will treat them like any other
candidate on G.O.A.” Just then the doors opened and the top candidates
walked in. “You’re late”, said Azuma, “We already introduced the new
candidates to everyone. Since you weren’t here, this is #98, Crystal
Hamiya and #99 Lilly Hamiya. They will be training with your class until
they have taken there simulation tests.”
“Can I say something?”, Lilly asked Azuma. Azuma nodded. “Someone here
has a problem with me”, said Lilly, “And I think I know who it is.” She
walked in between the lines and stopped next to Hiead. “So what do you
find so funny about that fact that I’m going to be training with you?”,
Lilly asked Hiead. “Nothing really”, he replied, “I was just thinking
about how I’m going to beat you when you have to go through the Pro-ing
training.” “You think that you’re a big shot”, said Lilly coldly, “Well
then how about we settle this right now? That is if your not scared.”
“I’m always ready for a challenge”, said Hiead, “but Azuma has to
approve of it.” “I guess it wouldn’t hurt anything”, Azuma said, “Besides I
need an accurate reading of your skills. This should give me the
information that I need. But who will be your repairer?” “I will”, said
Crystal, “I can manage the repairer’s job. We always work together on
everything if we can.” “Then it’s settled”, said Azuma, “Hiead and Ikhny will
face Lilly and Crystal. Let’s go and get this over with.”
