Chapter Five: Realization
Inside the infirmary, Dr. Croford left to watch the battle. She left one of the nurses, Miche, with Skai so she wouldn’t leave. Skai argued with the nurse and she finally got her to hack into the computer system so Skai could see the battle. She watched pitifully. She pleaded with Miche to let her go and fight, but Miche kept rejecting her request.
“Please! Zion needs me and so do the other Pilots. If I don’t go out there then Zion and humanity as we know it will be destroyed!”
Miche was stunned by these words and defencelessly let Skai go. She rushed to her Goddess. Luckily, none of the other Candidates were there; they were all out fighting as well. As she ran down the hall, her outfit changed, instead of her white hospital gown she was supposed to be wearing she wore light blue-green shorts with stripes running down the sides and a matching shirt. It looked exactly like the training outfit for the candidates except a light blue-green colour instead of black. She hopped into the Sora-Novus and started up her goddess focusing mostly on speed so no one could see her. She launched, as soon as she did Dr. Croford knew it. She quickly rushed back to Skai’s infirmary room and looked at the nurse.
“What happened?” asked Dr. Croford.
The nurse pressed a button on a recording device: “Please! Zion needs me and so do the other Pilots. If I don’t go out there then Zion and humanity as we know it will be destroyed!”
“I couldn’t argue.” Said Miche looking down.
The doctor put a hand on the nurses’ shoulder. “Because you knew she was right.” The doctor smiled and they walked back to the main room to watch the battle. The doctor, nurse and instructor all watched the screen. What is she thinking?” Dr. Croford thought wonderingly. We’ll just have to trust her now.
Gareas was trying to fend off the Victim attacking him but it was no use. Finally one tackled him and many others followed suit. Ramming him again and again. I’m not gonna make it! He thought helplessly. I need help! I’m sorry Leena. He closed his eyes and prepared for the last attack that would knock him out and then the Victim would beat him ‘till he died. He waited and waited, but it never came. He opened his eyes and saw trails of ripped up Victim in front of him. He looked around and there was ‘The Flash’ as the pilots had come to call it. He watched admiringly as it streaked through groups of Victim leaving them torn and shattered behind it. Finally it stopped moving. It seemed tired and Gareas got a good look at it. He gasped, he knew exactly who it was. Suddenly a screen appeared in front of his face. It read:
Yuu, Gareas, Erts, please don’t tell! I beg you not to! Please, please, please! You can come talk to me about it, just don’t tell anyone.
Unfortunately if one pilot saw something on a screen then all of them saw it. The Goddess sped off and out of site.
“Gareas, Yuu and Erts I demand you tell us who that is!” Teela yelled hotly.
“I’ll tell if Yuu tells.” Said Erts quietly.
“I’ll tell if Gare tells.” Replied Yuu. Everyone waited for Gareas to answer.
“Sorry Teela.” He said half-smirking. His face suddenly got serious. “She saved my life and asked for a favour in return. I can’t tell you.”
Teela smiled. “You are loyal Gareas.” But I need answers that you hold. She thought quietly.
