ZATCH BELL (Page 2)

Konjiki no Gash Bell (Zatch Bell as it is named in North America) is an ongoing series whose first Japanese episode aired in April of 2003. At the time of this update, this amusing, action packed series is on it's 98th episode. (NOTE: In the dub Zatch is a Mamodo, but I'm going to stick with the Japanese demon version.)

Gash Bell centers around the characters, Kiyo (abbreviated for Kiyomaro), and the child, Gash Bell. Gash was rescued by Kiyo's father (Seitarou) and wanted to return a favor. So Seitarou sent Gash to his son as a 14th birthday present. It is up to Gash to straighten out the teen genius who has become sarcastic, stubborn, and refuses to go to school. Sound simple enough? Nope. Seems Gash has lost most of his memories. The only hint of his past is a mysterious red book that even professionals were unable to translate. It isn't long before Kiyo discovers that the book and the child have a very deep connection. When a page in the book is translated and spoken with emotion, Gash is able to perform special powers. The more pages translated, the greater the powers become. How is that possible?....well:

Aside from the human world there is a demon world. Even in the demon world there is a society ruled by a King. A fight to determine the King is fought once every one thousand years in the human world. The children who were chosen in the demon world are sent to the human world with a book. While being raised by humans, they fight for the position of King. The rules are easy and based on the books. These books utilize human emotions to use their powers. In other words, an instructional manual. However, if the book were to burn up and disappear, that demon would lose his qualifications as King, and they are sent back to the demon world. The devil's children will fight in the human world until only one remains. The last survivor will be the Demon King.

Kiyo and Gash learn to work together in their effort to fight evil opponents. These opponents come to battle with elemental powers such as fire, wind, water, ice, and many more. Gash desperately wants to win so that he may become a KIND King. What new powers will Gash acquire to defeat these foes? Turn the page and see for yourself.
