GUNDAM WING

Fifteen year old Heero has been trained since childhood to be an ace soldier. He excels in computers, demolitions, combat and piloting his Gundam, Wing Zero. How ironic that his name is taken from the murdered leader of the space colonies who preached demilitarization and non-violence. Heero can be cold, cruel, and ruthless to the enemy. Relena, however, eventually gains the ability to warm his cold heart.

Duo a.k.a. God of Death, is my favorite GW character. He always seems jovial even in the face of war and despair. Orphaned in his youth, Duo was taken in and treated kindly by the clergy of the Maxwell Church....hence the name and priest clothing. Duo pilots the Deathscythe, a Gundam he initially intended to destroy until Professor G suggested he steal the Gundam and flee to Earth.

Boyishly innocent Quatre is hardly what you'd expect to see involved in the violence of war, but he is as the pilot of the Gundam Sandrock. This disappointed and alienated him from his pacifist family. Born the sole heir of the Winner family naturally, he has 29 sisters all of which were test-tube babies. Even though he fights for peace, Quatre feels deep regret and apologizes when killing is necessary.

Before taking the name of Trowa Barton from the real, murdered owner, Trowa was known the nameless soldier. His quiet, mysterious demeanor is what makes him so charismatic. As a cover, Trowa works as a sad clown for a circus. It is there where he met Catherine, an acrobat who is said to be his sister. Trowa pilots the Gundam Heavyarms.

Wufei is extremely serious and true to his convictions. His overconfidence and indignation towards weakness took a bitter turn when he was defeated by Treize. Luckily, he regained his self esteem when he teamed up with Sally Po and her rebels. Wufei pilots the Shenlong Gundam, which he fondly refers to as Nataku.

Relena, also fifteen years old, was the foster daughter to an Alliance minister. In actuality, she is the heir to the pacifist Sanc Kingdom. As the series progresses, she becomes a respected advocate for peace. Her brother Milliardo, unfortunately, is a high ranking officer of OZ, but that later changes. One last thing....despite everything he has done, Relena carries a soft spot in her heart for Heero.

Suave, debonair Zechs Merquise is the highly skilled pilot of the Alliance. His helmet-type mask hides his true identity...that of Milliardo Peacecraft of the Sanc Kingdom and brother to Relena. He studied at Specials' Lake Victoria military academy and received the first ever two-rank promotion. Zechs fights not only to avenge his father and homeland, but also to regain everlasting peace.
