In the beginning, Ginkai is one of Kam's minions, but he grew tired of Kam's bossiness and the unmerciful treatment of Medabots. After leaving Kam, Ginkai has come to the rescue of many medabots. His own original medabot was Bayonet, whose medal now resides in Arc-Dash.

Ginkai has an adorable younger sister named Sara.
