Meanwhile, back at the Medabot Factory, Dr. Aki and the others wait for word from Ikki. Rintaro reminds them the rankings were announced an hour ago, and Ikki remained in 4th place. Moments later, Karin recieves a phone call from Koji telling them their plans to rescue Metabee.

At the hideout Metabee is restrained while Dr. Meda-evil attempts to remove Metabee's rare hercules beetle medal. This, he says, is the 1st phase to operation "Beetle Mania". His plan is to use Metabee as a pawn in his quest for world domination.

Ikki, Koji, and Shrimplips are investigating the ancient ruins when they are again surrounded by the Rubberobos. Lucky for them Karin pinpointed their location by tracing a signal from Koji's cell phone. To the rescue comes Erika, Karin, Rintaro, and the Screws. Karin throws a smoke bomb, and they all scatter escaping. Sloan, Spyke, and Rintaro find themselves trapped as the walls close up around them. Erika and Karin have escaped in another area of the ruins and run past what appears to be a gigantic medabot. Ikki and the others become trapped in a hanging net. Who should return to help them, but Seaslug, Gilgirl, and Squidguts. They lead Ikki to the room where Metabee is being held, but quickly run away in fear. Through Ikki's meda-watch, they hear Metabee's strangled voice.

Peppercat and Sumilidon join forces to help. The Rubberobo's attack with three of their devil-type bots (Belzelga). Sumilidon uses his "hammer fist" while Peppercat deploys her "electric shock attack". Unfortunately, the Belzelgas are too powerful. The Belzelga was about to use the final "power punch" when the attempt was twarted by (YEAH!) Rokusho! He swore to protect the rare medals.
