The Spy Who Robattled Me

Episode Summary

Ikki received a letter from Karin telling him to meet her on Sunday to visit a wonderful place. While Ikki is waiting for Karin, Erika shows up with Brass. Ikki's thoughts of a romantic date with Karin are shattered when she shows up with her uncle, Dr. Aki. However, everyone is excited when they learn that Dr. Aki will be taking them to Medabot Corporation...where Medabots are made.

When the gang arrives at the company, they find the security very tight. Unfortunately, Seaslug (from the Rubberobos) has somehow infiltrated the corporation and is posing as an employee (Mr. Tunahead). He accidently runs into Metabee, but runs off before anyone recognizes him. While Dr. Aki is giving the kids a tour, he explains how Medabots are made with a new metal compound called medabot-alloy or m-alloy for short. This metal is as flexible as human bone yet hard as a diamond. It also has microscopic regenerators which give the medabots the ability to repair their own minor damage, in other words, heal thyself.

Ikki wants to see where the rare medals are made, but Dr. Aki is strongly against that. Instead he takes them to a holographic (Star Trek anyone) simulation chamber to watch the testing of the new medabot, Belzelga. This bot is powerful wiping out an army of Tankar bots. Seaslug has seen this simulation and is sure Belzelga possesses a rare medal. Seaslug is hesitant to take the medal, because he has developed a liking for Belzelga's meda-fighter, Miss Caviar. Later that day, Seaslug believes Miss Caviar has accepted a date from someone else. He feels rejected and steals Belzelga's medal in anger. Metabee sees this and goes after him to the roof of the building. Seaslug is more upset when he learns that Belzelga's medal is not rare.

Ikki, Karin, and Erika work together in a robattle to get Belzelga back. It's Belzelga against Metabee, Brass, and Neutranurse. Belzelga has the ability to crush its opponent in any one shot and quickly immobilized both Metabee and Brsss's left arm. Ikki knows that any direct hit could mean "function cease!" When Belzelga comes after Brass again, Karin steps in and puts up a neutra-wall to protect both Neutranurse and Brass. This gives Brass a chance to create a diversion for Metabee to use his seeker missiles. The missiles hit the water tower. Belzelga grabs Brass, and they both begin to fall from the tower. Metabee is able to catch Brass with his good right arm and subsequently blast Belzelga at close range with his seeker missiles. That's it...Belzelga function cease! Seaslug, however, has escaped.

Later we see Dr. Aki discussing the danger of the rare medals falling into the wrong hands. Who is he asking for help? None other than the Phantom Renegade! Well now we know that the Phantom is one of the good guys. Ahhhh, the plot thickens!!!!!!
