Winner Takes All

Episode Summary

This is Part 2 of a 2 parter.

Picking up from the last episode, the Mystery Medafighter is no longer a mystery...it's Zuru.

Kam quits their robattle saying that it wouldn't be fair knowing that the Mystery Medafighter flattened Minitora and Kintora like pancakes (since when does that stop him??) To everyone's surprise, he leaves.

The next day, Ms. Nai visits Dr. Maizu, and they go to lunch. While eating, they witness a kid with a kilobit engaging in a unfair robattle. Ms. Nai feels sorry for the boy that lost, but Dr. Maizu said that if he wanted to win, he should invest in a kilobit. Ms Nai asks if he forgot the words he told his son. "I don't know what you're talking about?" he responds. However, Ms. Nai believes that he does.

Later, Dr. Maizu demonstrates the prototype kilobot, Gryphon. He shows Kam its new power that can force an opponent to expire all weapons. It is equipped with more powerful weapons and a demolition mode. He says these are just in the demonstration phase, and they must still be perfected. The kilobit may overheat if used in this state.

Elsewhere, Zuru is hiding out at Ms. Nai's and missed classes. Kam contacts him for a robattle. Zuru decides to go as himself. Ikki, Erika, and others follow, Ms. Nai sends an email to Dr. Maizu asking him to meet there. When he shows up, Ms. Nai tells Dr. Maizu that the reason Zuru is having this robattle is because he detests kilobots. He believes kilobots changed his father.

Once the battle begins, Kam summons Gryphon specialty Ultimate fighting weapon and puts Gryphon in demolition mode. Zuru puts Roks and Tyrelbeetle into action mode. It isn't long before Gryphon renders Tyrelbeetle "function cease" with just one shot. Not wanting to sacrifice Roks, too, Zuru is ready to give up. Roks convinces him to continue by saying, "We don't always have to win, but we must try."

When Kam begins to engage Gryphon's limiter release program, Dr. Maizu tells him not to. Of course, Kam listens to no one, and locks on Roks, "maximum power engage."

Dr. Maizu informs Zuru that there is a delay of 40 seconds before Gryphon can charge to max power. Knowing this, Zuru puts Roks into action mode and strikes Gryphon sending Gryphon's attack skyward. Then the mighty kilobot overheats.

Mr. Maizu tells Kam that he doesn't intend to complete Gryphon. Kam leaves saying, "how disappointing."

After Kam is chauffeured off, Dr. Maizu apologizes to Zuru saying he never meant to put his work ahead of him, and that he was wrong trying to satisfy his own desire to make a winning medabot no matter how dangerous it may be. Father and son tearfully hug. Welcome home father

MORE MEDABOTS, MORE POWER.
