The Forgotten Journey

Chapter One: The Calling

Disclaimer: I don’t own this series, just write about the stuff they didn’t have the funding to publish (not really…)

I rushed back as soon as I realized that something was wrong. It has been 5 years since I left, but I did not stop observing what was happening to Inuyasha. I have made one great discovery: it takes time for someone’s life force energy to be transmitted. Like it takes a few minutes for light to travel from the sun to the Earth, it takes time for someone’s life energy to be broadcasted; it takes five years for it to go from Earth to Mars (as the later civilizations called it). so, that meant that it took five years for me to learn what happens on Earth; I came five years too late.

It seems that some demon had made Inuyasha and Kikyo bitter enemies a few days after I had left. Then, Kikyo got killed, and Inuyasha was cursed into one spot. I have decided that whomever did this will pay, but I will not be the one to do it. I will bring Inuyasha and Kikyo back, and let them see who their true enemy is…

Everyday I wake up and see the same thing: the same trees, the same village, same clouds, same everything. All I never see is people. Its so lonely now…It’s been five years since that fateful day; I remember it like yesterday. Die InuYasha…What did I do wrong? Well, whatever it was, its all her fault! And I'll never forgive her…

Today started out like any other day; how wrong I was. I woke up, and was blinded by an abnormally bright sun. It took my eyes a few seconds to adjust, but there wasn’t anything new. Same trees, the same village, same clouds: same everything. Wait… who is that girl sitting there? This is my chance! If I can get her to let me go, I can finally be free.

“You finally woke up” she said. She had white hair that went down to the base of her neck. She was wearing a white robe, similar to mine, but her’s was white, and shaped for a woman. It also had a black emblem on the left breast. Her skin was fair (like Kagome’s) and she had eyes as blue as a sapphire. She looked young though… about twelve or thirteen. And she had a shield strapped to her back.

            “Yes” I said

“Must be interesting to be stuck to a tree” she said

“Not really… same trees, the same village, same clouds, same everything. Nothing new, and its pretty lonely” I replied. “Say, can you do me a favor?”

            “What?” she said

“Can you pull this arrow out of me?”

“Sure… wait. Won’t it kill you if I take that arrow out?”

“Don’t worry about it, I’m a fast healer”

“Well… alright” she said. She slowly went up to me. She stopped right in front of me then stopped. She giggled.

            “What?” I asked

She stopped giggling and said: “There’s a bug on you hair”

“Bug!?!” I shrieked. If I’m afraid of anything, it would have to be bugs. I mean, they’re so small, but they can do some really bad stuff. Like, they might go in your ear, and you can’t do anything about it. and if it has sharp spines on it, it might mess up your insides. And even if they couldn’t hurt you… they’re disgusting! “GET IT OFF!!!”

“Its only a butterfly” she said. She held out her finger and let the butter fly land on it. I cringed with disgust looking at that things horrid feelers stroking her skin. Then something hit me.

“Do I know you?” I asked, all of a sudden becoming aware of something familiar about her.

“No” she said. Then she looked deep into my eyes for a few moments. “But I know you…”

“Huh? Ahh!!! What you do that for?” I was confused by what she had said, and was about to ask her what she meant, but she pulled out the arrow from my chest at that moment.

“Well” she said with a look of innocence on her face “you did tell me to pull it out”

“You could have at least warned me” I said in a childish voice. All of a sudden, the place where the arrow was started to hurt. I mean it was searing; I have never felt that much pain. I tried to hide it, but it obviously showed.

“Are you all right?” she asked

“Ya” I lied. I was about to leave her there, since I didn’t care about this girl at all, but the pain came on me all of a sudden. Next thing I knew, I was on my hands and knees, pain taking control of me. But then, I felt her put her hand on top of where the arrow wound was. Then I felt nothing… like I never had the wound at all.

“How…” I managed to say before she put her fingers on my lips. “I’ll tell you later, but there is something serious we need to discuss.” Now she had caught my interest. Maybe I could use her.

“Alright. Hey, what was your name again?” I asked, trying to appear nice

            “Muad’ib” she said.

“Muad’ib… that’s an interesting name.” What the hell kind of name is that?
”Well… Muad’ib, it’s a pleasure to meet you my name is…”

“Inuyasha” she finished for me. “I’ve been watching you Inuyasha, and I know what happened between you and Kikyo”

This stunned me. I had completely forgotten about her, but all the memories came back. Die Inuyasha. I lost my friendly composure, and had a look that could kill, the fire of hate burning in my eyes. I had been dreaming of this day, the day I would get Kikyo back.

“I’m willing to make a deal with you Inuyasha. I will let you have revenge on the one that has ruined your life. All I ask is that you do not keep the Shikon Jewel.”

“Alright Muad’ib, it’s a deal. I’m gonna get Kikyo back, and you can have that stupid Jewel” You go and think that. Once I kill Kikyo, I’ll kill you and take that jewel. Then I can become fully demon, and kick azz.

“Well, this is the way to Kikyo” she said, pointing to the forest. “My friend will meet her and bring her to the center, just like I’m supposed to. Now lets go!” she said, her girly look and sense of adventure, with a hint of delight, back into her face. She started heading to the forest, and I followed her. I didn’t have a chance before, but now I could see what was on the shield. It was a Ying-Yang symbol…at least part of it. There was only the black half with the white dot in it; the other half was missing. Where the missing half should have been was half the picture of a moon, but cut out so it took up all the empty space that the missing part left.

I always hated waking up late in the afternoon. Wait… that’s not right! I died, because on Inuyasha’s treachery. But here I am, waking up. I never wanted to be a human. That traitor.

“Hello there. I see that you have finally woken up” said a small voice.

I opened my eyes and took a look at my surroundings. I was in a small wood hut with one window and a door. There were transparent shades on it, so the sun couldn’t get through that well, but it was obvious that it was very bright today. The room seemed dark, and it was a bit cold. OMG! I’m naked. The person noticed my surprise and giggled. Then he said: “Your clothes are under your feet” He sounded like a young boy. I quickly glanced at him, but his back was turned on me. He seemed to be the height of a twelve-year-old boy. I could see a shield strapped to his back, but there wasn’t enough light to see the symbol on it.

I looked at my clothes and was pleased to find that they were my old ones; they’re one of a kind, and custom made, so its comfort was irreplaceable. I finished putting my clothes on and found him up to my face in an instant. He had black hair, and eye as red as fire. He was wearing a black robe, one that looked like Inuyasha’s, with an emblem on the right breast. He had a grin that went from ear to ear…

“So” he said excitedly “how’s it feel to be alive again?”

“…are you the one that brought me back?” I asked

“Yes” he replied, and then his faced became sad and disappointed “Do you want me to send you back? I’ll understand…”

“NO!” this startled him “I mean of course not,” his face brightened up “and to answer your first question, it feels really good”

            “I guessed that’s what you’d say”

“So, what’s your name? My name is…” he cut me off

“Kikyo. And my name is Muad’ib”

“So,” I said calmly to him “why did you bring me back?”

“I’ve been watching you for a few months before you died, and I felt bad for you, so I spent all this time learning how to bring people back, and now here you are”

“I see…” I said. My mind went into rewind and I suddenly remembered how I was killed. Then my face became cold.

“I want to help you get your revenge on the one responsible for your death”

“And how do you plan on doing that?” I asked him

“I will lead you to Inuyasha, and you can do as you please. All I ask is that I get to keep the Shikon Jewel.”

“All right,” I lied “I’m gonna get Inuyasha back, and you can have the Jewel in return” I felt bad for misleading the boy, but he couldn’t possibly handle the Jewel. And it was mine to protect anyway…

“Ok, this is the way to him” he said, and led me out of the hut and into the forest. I finally got a good look at his shield. There was a Ying-Yang symbol…at least part of it. There was only the white half with the black dot in it; the other half was missing. Where the missing half should have been was half the picture of a moon…

Sadly, I had actually finished all this before Julie ever put up the Inuyasha section…I just completely forgot about it. But now its done, and I can try and entertain us all with my second fanfic
