Disclaimer: Hey everyone!  Well I’ve come back to write yet another fan fic for you guys plus I couldn’t get my writing urge to go away so here I am and ready to entertain you!  As always I don’t own Inuyasha but I do own Black Slash, Rogue, and Lightning Strike.  Nicole on the other hand belongs to someone else.  Okay I’m done rambling on with the show!

CHAPTER 1: WILL YOU MARRY ME?

The sky was clear as the sun stood over a small village.  It’s hot rays beamed down upon it while a cool crisp breeze continuously blew through.  The green pastures brightly shone brightly with the forest emanating the same color.  It was truly a beautiful day.

Down in the village there was a man who looked like close to his twenties but was sixteen nonetheless.  He looked to be six feet tall, his hair jet black while he spiked it.  He wore a black leather jacket over his white T-shirt while wearing blue jeans with white tennis shoes.  Everything he wore made him look like a modern day rich kid would wear except one thing that stood out from his clothing; he had a sword tucked by his side.  Weird it may be but it was important even in this peaceful village.

The boy laid on top of a hut, letting the warm rays of the sun beat down on him, the wind trying to push his hair down.  “Ah.  What a peaceful day it is,” the boy said to himself.

            “Hey Black Slash.”

The boy sat up and looked down from above the hut.  He saw a man in his twenties, he wore black and dark blue robes and he had black hair that was drawn into a small ponytail.  He held a staff in one hand as he used it to shield his eyes from the sun.

“What are you doing up there?” Miroku called out.

“Just enjoying the day,” Black replied.

With that Miroku walked off as Black Slash laid back down to soak in the rays again.

Miroku walked down the dirt road through the village as the villagers greeted him with warm welcomes.

            “Good afternoon Miroku.”

            “How’s the boy Miroku?”

Miroku waved back heartedly while continuing downs the path.  He then came to a stop at a large hut barely outside of the village.  “Home sweet home,” he said to himself.  But just before he could walk through the curtain door he heard a voice coming from inside the hut.  He froze, with his lecherous instincts crept to the edge of the door and peeked through the curtain.

He saw a man with silver white hair and golden yellow eyes.  The man looked to be around eighteen years old but the truth was he was much older.  He wore a red T-shirt with blue jeans and white tennis shoes.  He wore a red cap that bears the words “R-Sox” on the front.  He walked frantically back and forth inside the hut as he talked himself.

“I wanted to tell you something for a long time,” he said.  “I love you.”

There was a long pause.  It looks like he’s talking to the wall Miroku thought.

The man growled as he threw his hat off revealing two doggy ears on top of his head.  “Why can’t I get this right?!”  He ran his hands through his hair in a frustrated way.

“Okay!” he said as he pulled his hands out and put his cap back on.  “Lets try this one more time!”

Miroku tried to suppress his laughter as he watched Inuyasha make a total fool of himself.

Miroku watched him carefully.  Inuyasha then lowered himself onto one knee and looked up at the ceiling if there was a person there.  “Kagome…” Inuyasha began.  “We’ve been together for so long that I need to tell you something.”  Miroku inched closer to get a better view.  “For the past couple of days it’s been hard for me to say this.  That is – I wanted to ask you a question.”  Miroku stared at him and even though Kagome wasn’t really there Inuyasha was sweating as if he was in a hot spring.  “Is that will you…” he looked down.  “Will you marry me?”
Miroku stood there in shock with half of his body inside the hut like the ol’ peeping tom he used to be.  Miroku never expected Inuyasha to ask Kagome to marry him.  It would be almost impossible, Naraku had a better chance at beating them all than Inuyasha asking Kagome to marry him.  But really Miroku could see this coming.  They have been together for so long and each adventure they went on brought them closer to each other.

Miroku straightened himself out and walked into the hut.  “That was a bad move you made,” Miroku said casually.  “Looking away when you said ‘Will you marry me.’”

Inuyasha looked at Miroku bewildered.  “Uh-wha-um…” Inuyasha stuttered.   “What are you doing here?”

“I live here….  What are you doing here?”

Inuyasha stared at him wide-eye still a little bit surprised from Miroku’s entrance.  “I was… I was well….”  He looked around the room frantically.  “I was looking for a quiet spot to think,” he said quickly.

            “To think about what?”
“That’s none of your business,” he said looking away; returning to his old moody self.

“If I was mistaken it sounded like you were practicing to ask Kagome to-“

“Sssh!!!” Inuyasha pressed his hand over Miroku’s mouth tightly.  Inuyasha then took his hand off Miroku’s mouth while he looked out the window, checking if anyone was there.  “Jeez!  What are you trying to do?!  Tell the whole village?!”

“Sorry,” Miroku said raising his hands up.  “I didn’t know it was such a big secret.”

Miroku watched Inuyasha flinch in place , sweat pouring down his face like waterfalls.  He noticed how pale Inuyasha was; he had never seen him this nervous before.  “Why are you so nervous?  All it is just asking Kagome to marry you that’s all.”

“Yeah I know!  But… I’ve never done this before.  What if I… you know.  What if I mess up?  I-I couldn’t forgive myself!”

“Just relax Inuyasha,” Miroku said reassuring.  “Everything will be fine.”
Inuyasha looked at Miroku attentively.  “Wait.  You asked Sango to marry you….  You’ve done this before.”
“Well yes Inuyasha.  You were there before.”

            “Then you can help me!”

“Inuyasha, all you have to do is just go up to her, get down on one knee, and spill your guts to her.”

“I know I could do that but Kagome is…” Inuyasha looked at the floor lost in words.

            “… Special?”

Inuyasha nodded as he looked back at Miroku.

“And I’m guessing you want to ask her in a special way.”

“Yeah but I have nothing,” Inuyasha said sheepishly.  “I have no ring.  I have no plan.  Nothing!  And today is the day!”

Miroku looked up at the ceiling thinking out the situation.  He snapped his fingers as if the answer was right in front of him the whole time.  “Do you have the Shikon Jewel with you?”

Inuyasha gave Miroku a perplexed face.  “Yeah I do,” he pulled out a pink jewel from his pocket as it glowed with a bright pink aura.  “It was my turn to watch it so I kept it in my pocket for safe keeping.  How would this help me?”

“Don’t you see?  You can use this to propose to Kagome!”

Inuyasha looked at him as if he was talking to an idiot.  “I can’t propose with this.  Me and Kagome had this for many months, it means nothing.”

“Yes it does Inuyasha!  It represents the bond you two have for each other.”
            “How?” he said dully.

“Well first off it was the one that started your friendship together.”

Yeah it did, thought Inuyasha.  “I hadn’t realized that.”

“Or how it gathered us all together.  If it wasn’t for that jewel we wouldn’t be here talking about this.”

“You’re right,” Inuyasha quietly said, looking deep inside the jewel.  “So what should I do?”

“Good thing you asked,” Miroku said sitting down and beckoning Inuyasha to sit with him.  “Because I have a great plan that will work perfectly.”

Not too far from Miroku’s hut, in a valley next to the forest, two women stood there.  One girl, who looked to be sixteen, looked to be a little bit taller than five foot.  She had long, wavy brown hair that reached to her waist, her eyes were hazel brown, which the sun reflected off of.  She wore a black silk kimono with red cherry blossoms decorated onto it and a red sash around her waist that ended with a big bow behind her.

Next to her was a girl the same age as her maybe older.  She had long black hair and dark brown eyes.  She wore a green and white high school uniform with a short green skirt.  She also looked to be around the same height as her companion.

Both women had each a bow in their hand and a large quiver of arrows on their backs.  They both pulled back their bows and fired their arrows across the valley.  Both arrows hit two separate tree trunks that had bulls eyes carved into them.

A little fox demon walked up between the two trunks and examined them.  He turned around and shouted to the two girls, “They’re both in the center!”

“Wow,” said Kagome looking at Nicole.  “It looks like you’ve gotten better since last time.”

Nicole smiled back at Kagome.  “So have you.”

The two girls found a log close by and sat on it as a nice breeze swept past them, their long hair flowing in the wind.

“So what do you think Inuyasha’s surprise is?” Nicole asked.

“I don’t know,” Kagome replied looking up into the air, thinking.  “I remember just walking into Tetsusiaga’s Sacred Room in Inuyasha’s house and there he was.”  Kagome thought back early that day.

Kagome just arrived at a small house close to some woods in the backyard.  She pulled out her key and unlocked the door to the house.  Inuyasha lend her an extra key to the house.

She walked into the small household and looked around.  “Inuyasha?” she called out as she started searching for him.  “Inuyasha, we’re suppose to meet Sango and Miroku today.  Are you ready?”

For such a small house it seemed to be big inside.  She walked up to the last room she hadn’t searched; Tetsusiaga’s Sacred Room.  She slid the door slowly and before it was even a body’s length opened, she heard Inuyasha’s voice.

She couldn’t really make out what he was saying.  She peeked through the opening and saw Inuyasha’s back towards her.  It looked like Inuyasha was talking to himself.

His voice was incoherent so Kagome decided to interrupt his little conversation  “Inuyasha!”

Inuyasha jumped as he turned around to see Kagome looking at him.  “Ka-Kagome!”  He watched her in shock.  “What-what are you-you doing here?  What are you doing here?” he said nervously.

“I came here to get you.  We’re supposed to leave today.  What were you doing?”

Inuyasha looked left and right as if looking for someone to support him.  “Me?  I was- I was doing nothing.”

Kagome glared at him.  “I’m not stupid Inuyasha.  What are you really up to?”

Inuyasha started to sweat.  “I was…” he looked over at his sword.  “… getting Tetsusiaga!”

Fire burned within Kagome’s eyes.  “Inuyasha…!”

Inuyasha took a few steps back in fear.  It looked like he didn’t want to die.

“It’s a surprise!” he burst out finally.  “It’s a surprise.”

The fire disappeared instantly and happiness came just as fast.  “Really?!  For me?”

“Yeah,” he said quickly sounding like he wanted to finish the subject as fast as possible.

            “What is it?”

            “Uh… it’s um… if I told you it wouldn’t be a surprise.”

“But is it today?  Are you going to show it to me today?”

            Inuyasha thought fast.  “Yes.”

“Great,” she squealed as she turned around.  “Shippo is waiting for us at the well and I can’t wait for the surprise.”  She walked out of the room and slid the door closed behind her.

Inuyasha fell back, his back hit against the wall as he lay against it.  “I’m dead.”

“What do you think it is?” Nicole asked again.

“I don’t know,” Kagome said as she looked up into the sky, closed her eyes and smiled.  “But I hope it’s great.  I’ve noticed Inuyasha has been planning this for some time so it just might excite me.”

“Maybe he’s going to ask you to marry him,” said Nicole.

Both girls looked at each other in silence and then laughed hysterically.

“Oh that’s a good one,” Kagome said wiping a tear away.  “But Inuyasha would never have enough courage to ask me to marry him.”

Nicole massaged her cheeks from smiling.  “You’re right.  I don’t think Inuyasha is ready for marriage just yet.”

Kagome looked down the valley to finally see the past Shippo coming to meet them with Kirara accompanying him.  “But you never know.  Inuyasha will do a lot of daring things.”

Back up north of the village, deep within the forest, at a foot of a waterfall close to a tall hill, a teenager and a man who looks to be in his twenties were at the bottom of the waterfall.

The teenager, who appeared to be half naked with only his pants on, sat in a meditative position under the raging waterfall.  He had light brown hair that was tied into a ponytail.  His body was well built and scarred in a few places.

But even though the present day Shippo was in a meditated state, it seemed he couldn’t meditate due to being annoyed by a certain wolf demon.

“I’d never knew you’d grow up to be that kinda demon Shippo,” said Koga.  “I would’ve pictured you to be a wimp or something.”

Shippo’s eye twitched.  “Thanks,” he said sarcastically.

“You knew Kagome longer than I have.”

Shippo looked at the wolf demon with a stern face.  “Yeah, what’s your point?”

“You think I should make my move on her now?  Ask her that I should marry her?  After hearing about marriage from the future I thought maybe I should try it out.”

Shippo was disgusted.  “Even during the present times you were still desperate for her.”

“Oh really?  Well I guess it’s gonna change then.”

            “How’s that?”

“I’m gonna ask her!  To have her hand in marriage!” Koga got to his feet and raised his fist in triumph.

You gotta be kidding me Shippo thought to himself.

“Since that mutt hasn’t even made a move yet, I’m going to make the move for him.”

Please, Inuyasha has been planning to marry her for quite sometime, Shippo thought.  I know because I kept hearing him from the house… knowing to transform into anything pays off.

“I know I’m going to be successful!  Kagome, you’re all mine!  Your future husband awaits!”  With that Koga left towards the village, a trail of dust left behind him as he ran.

Shippo returned to his meditative position.  “I wonder if I was that annoying…?”

Back at Miroku’s hut, it looked like Inuyasha and Miroku were almost done scheming.

“So you know what to do?” Miroku asked.

“Yeah… wait.  What about the others?”

“Don’t worry,” Miroku said reassuring him.  “I know where everyone is at.”

“Really?” Inuyasha asked with uncertainty.  “Where’s Black Slash?”
“He’s on top of a hut soaking in some rays.”

            “Nicole.”

“With Kagome out in the valley practicing archery.”

            “Shippo.”

            “Past or Present?”

            “Both.”

“Past Shippo is with Kagome and Nicole.  While the present Shippo is at the waterfall meditating with Koga.”

            “Lightning Strike and Rogue?”

“Hanging out in the forest and so is your past self.”

            “And Sango and Miroku?”

“Sango is helping Kaeda while my son is meditating deep in the forest and won’t be back for a couple of hours.”

“How do you know where everyone’s at?”

“I have my ways,” Miroku said slyly with a mischievous smile.

Inuyasha stared at him with a disgusted look.

“But that’s not important right now,” Miroku said.  “What’s important is that it all needs to be done.  You know exactly what to do?”

“Yeah.  All I have to do is-”

Miroku cut Inuyasha by putting his hand over his mouth.  Outside they heard a couple of footsteps and laughter of women but then faded.  Miroku let out a deep sigh and released his hand from Inuyasha.

“Okay so you know it but don’t go telling it on some soapbox.  Alright, just do what I told you and everything will go exactly as we planned.”

            “Alright.”

Both men stood up and walked out of the hut.  Miroku pointed west towards the valley.  “There you’ll find Kagome and Nicole practicing archery.  Just go past them acting all upset.  Once you leave I’ll come out of my close hiding place and ask Kagome to follow you.  It’s foolproof!”

“It better be,” Inuyasha said giving Miroku a small death glare.  “Because if it doesn’t I’ll-“

            “Don’t worry, it will.”

            Inuyasha shrugged it off.

“Alright, lets take our hiding positions and I’ll give you the signal.”  Both Miroku and Inuyasha split up, Inuyasha headed towards Kagome and Nicole’s spot while Miroku went into the village, trying to find a good hiding spot.

Miroku ambled down the road between many huts, villagers talking to one another or, like Miroku, just strolling along the road.  Miroku listened in some conversations hearing some people’s family problems, the bad drought that has recently happened, some black stranger in the forest that has been plaguing the villager’s fears, or how food is becoming a problem due to the drought.

Miroku exited the village through a tiny path between two huts that lead him to another part of the valley.  He scanned the valley and spotted the two girls.  “Perfect,” he said slowly.  He looked over and spotted a giant boulder.  He smirked, he crept behind the boulder and peered out the side of it.  There the two girls sat on a wooden log in deep conversation.  Miroku’s smile widened.  He peered over the other side to see if Inuyasha was in place.  He’s suppose to be at the edge of the valley but he’s not there he thought.  Miroku retreated behind the boulder, sat down, and let out a deep sigh.  “Well, looks like we’re going to have to wait on him.”

Koga left a trail of dust as he ran towards the village.  “Where are you Kagome?” he said sniffing the air, trying to get her scent.

He skidded to a halt right outside of the village, still trying to find her scent.  He walked around the vicinity still sniffing the air.  He then caught the nice fragrant aroma of Kagome’s.  “Aha!”  He was just about to take off to Kagome until he realized something.  “Wait….  I don’t want anybody to interrupt me when I confess my true love to Kagome.  A certain mutt that I don’t want to see.”  He looked down at a hut and saw two wooden buckets.  “Those will help me get Kagome secluded from the others and get me my ticket for Kagome’s love.”  He grab the rope handles and sped off towards Kagome’s general direction.

Miroku sat behind the boulder looking dully.  He was so bored that he started to observe the surroundings of the boulder.  There were many tiny rocks surrounding it that one wrong move would mean a painful fall.  He looked over the boulder to see if Inuyasha was there and luckily enough there he was at the edge of the valley.  From the looks of it he was lost in the village.  “Must’ve been very crowded today,” Miroku said.  But now that he was out of there, the plan can get underway.

Inuyasha observed the valley for any signs of Miroku.  He knew where the girls were at since you can’t mistake the colors of their clothing.  He scanned it over twice until the third time he found Miroku halfway hidden behind a giant boulder.  Miroku was giving him the thumbs up.

“That’s the signal,” he looked over at Kagome who had her back towards him, not even noticing him.  He moved forward down the valley.  He swallowed deeply, his hands became sweaty, everything was starting to spin.  What am I doing?!!  He thought.  He halted midway.

“What’s he doing?!” Miroku said frantically.

I… I can’t do this Inuyasha thought.  This is too much… too early!  That’s it!  It’s too early for me to ask her.  I’ll wait for a couple more years and then I’ll be ready to ask her.

Inuyasha then pictured his older brother Sesshomaru looking down upon him.  “A coward as always Inuyasha,” he said.

He growled silently.  How dare he call me a coward!  I’ve faced worse things than this!  I can do this!

Inuyasha summoned up all the energy he could muster and moved on forward again.  With all his might he created the most gruesome face he could make.  He marched right up to Kagome so she could notice him.

            “Hey Inuyasha,” Kagome greeted cheerfully.

Inuyasha glared at her with all his might as a huge pang in his heart erupted.  He stood there glaring into Kagome’s eyes trying to ignore the heartache he was going through.  After what felt like hours glaring at her, Inuyasha turned and marched into the forest.

“Damn it Miroku,” he said quietly to himself.  “This plan of yours better work.”

Kagome watched Inuyasha walk deeper and deeper into the forest until he was engulfed by darkness and trees.  Her expression turned from shock, due to being glared at, to anger.  “Well what was that all about?” she said hotly.  “All I did was just say hi to him and he goes and gives me that look.”

“Well he probably had a reason,” Nicole said all knowingly (You know, all Anime Style).  “Anybody would have a reason to.”

“Yeah but does he have the right to take his anger out on me?”

            “No… nobody ever does.”

            “You said it.”

Miroku peered over the boulder, keeping watch over the girls.  “Good job Inuyasha,” he said.  “All I have to do is just wait for a couple of more minutes and I’ll-”

Something caught his attention.  It was faint but he definitely heard it.  It was approaching footsteps at a very quick pace.  Miroku turned around and saw with horror that Koga was coming.  Koga?!  What’s he doing here?  He’s suppose to be with Shippo.

“Kagome!” Koga yelled.  “Kagome!”  He ran past Miroku not even noticing him.  He came to a sudden stop in front of Kagome as his trail of dust enveloped Nicole.

“Rude much,” she said, coughing the through the cloud of dust.

“Yeah whatever,” Koga said inattentively as he kept his attention on Kagome.  “Kagome, care to join me down by the river.  I have this sick friend and he wanted me to get some water for him.”  He held up the two buckets he was carrying.

“Hey Koga,” she said dully as she kept thinking about how Inuyasha glared at her for nothing.  “Yeah, I guess.”

            “No!” Miroku said to himself.

“Yes!” Koga said under his breath.  “Right this way then.”  He guided her to a different direction into the forest.

“So what’s the name of your friend?  Anybody I know?”

“Uh well he uh wants to remain anonymous.”

Koga lead Kagome deep into the forest away from Inuyasha’s position.  Nicole looked peeved.  “Leaves without even saying sorry,” she mumbled.

Miroku panicked.  He swiftly rose to his feet and tried to dash to Kagome and Koga.  “Wait!  Kago-.”  Miroku’s foot slipped underneath a rock as he came crashing down, his head landing on top of a dull rock, knocking him unconscious.  His eyes were in a swirling daze (Anime Style :P), his body completely lay out, and worst of all completely unknown that he was even there.

Black Slash sluggishly walked through the valley with his feet sliding with each step.  “I’m bored and it’s such a great day too.”  He continued to amble down the valley until he spotted something sitting on a log.  He squinted his eyes to see that it was Nicole and it looked like she was pretty upset.  “I wonder why she’s angry?”  He then quickened his pace.  “Hey Nicole!”

Nicole looked over and saw Black running towards her.  She smiled a little and waved to him.  “Hey.”

Black was a couple yards away when he noticed something.  It was from the edge of his view but it was still noticeable.  He changed directions towards the object he saw and walked up to it.

Nicole saw that Black was standing next to a boulder looking at something so she went to join him.

There, laying on the ground in a heaping pile of dark blue and black was Miroku who looked like a drunken man that collapsed on the front lawn.

Black pulled out his sword, sheath still intact, and started prodding his body as if he was dead.  Nicole swiped him with her staff.  “Stop that!”

“What?!  It looks like he was dead.”

Miroku blinked.  He pushed himself up into a sitting position, his head throbbing.  “Ow,”  Miroku rubbed his head.  “What happened?”

“We thought you were dead,” Black said discretely.  Nicole elbowed him in the ribs.  “Ow.”

“We don’t know what happened,” Nicole said giving Black a menacing glare.

“That glare…” Miroku whispered as his head throbbed even more from trying to think.  “Where did I see that glare before?”  He thought back, trying to remember what happened before he was knocked out cold.

“Well Inuyasha gives out those glares all the time.”

“Inuyasha?”  He thought back.  I remembered I was sitting behind a boulder, waiting for something.  I was watching Kagome and Nicole but mostly on Kagome and that’s when Koga showed up… Koga?!  Inuyasha!

“Wait!” Miroku said finally realizing what happened.  “How long have I’ve been out?”

“It depends,” Nicole said sounding pretty tense.  “How long have you been spying on us you Hentai?!”

“You don’t understand!  It was all a plan, it has to do with Inuyasha.  The only thing I remember was Koga taking Kagome into the forest.”

Black smiled as he put his hand underneath his chin.  “I wonder what he’s doing with Kagome… alone in a forest… that sly wolf.”

Nicole jabbed Black in the ribs with the tip of her staff.  “Quit thinking like that!”

“Ow,” Black groaned rubbing his side.  “Alright.”

“Anyways,” she looked at her watch.  “That was ten minutes ago Miroku.”

Miroku’s stomach plummeted.  “Oh no.  Inuyasha has been waiting in the forest for ten minutes!”

“So what’s the big deal?” Black said shrugging his shoulders.

“Yeah, he seemed pretty upset.  It would be right for him to stay in the forest just to cool off,” Nicole said.

“You don’t understand,” said Miroku nervously.  “He wasn’t really upset.  He was just pretending he was upset!  It was - It was part of a plan I made…”

Miroku told Black and Nicole everything; why Inuyasha had been nervous the past few days, why he was constantly absent from the group.  The planned out proposal and why Inuyasha was in the forest.  “And that’s why!”

Black stood there dumbfounded.  “Oh… crap…”

Nicole stood there quietly in shock.  “I… never knew he… he would…”

“This is not good,” Miroku said walking back and forth nervously.  “This is not good at all.”

Deep within the forest a stream flowed peacefully.  Kagome sat next to the stream scooping water into the bucket Koga gave her.  “Maybe I should get some herbs for your friend,” she said pulling the heavy bucket out of the stream.  “From the way you described your friend’s sickness, he doesn’t sound good.”

“Kagome,” Koga walked up to her and knelt down on one knee.  “I don’t have a sick friend.”  He grasped her hand with both of his as he looked straight into her eyes.  Kagome dropped her bucket, the water spilling onto the ground.

What’s he doing?  She thought as she started to blush.  This is embarrassing.

“Kagome… we’ve known each other very well.  And when I first saw you… I fell in love with you the very first moment.  Kagome, you make my world!  Will you marry me?”  Koga’s heart raced.  He couldn’t live without her.  Never!

Kagome looked into his eyes.  Her face was flushed in red.  She didn’t know what to say.  She would want to say yes but something was telling her to say no.  But he went through all this trouble just to ask me she thought.  It was be rude to just say no.

She smiled and looked at him warmly.

Yes! Koga thought triumphant.  I know that look!  She’s gonna say yes!

“Koga,” she said.  “That’s very sweet of you…”

“Yeah?” Koga got to his feet, beaming.  “Really?”

“Really it is.  Taking me to such a peaceful spot and asking me to marry you.  It’s very sweet.”

            “So you will?”

“I’m sorry Koga but I have to decline your offer,” she said frowning.  “I have someone else in mind.”

Koga’s heart dropped ten stories.  Everything grew dark and cold around him.  He felt like he was being plunged into a bottomless pit.  His whole world came crashing down upon him.  “Wha… wha… what?”

“I’m sorry Koga but I can’t marry you,” she said but then changed her frowned into a smile.  “We can still be friends though!”

The six words he didn’t want to hear.  He slouched over, turned around and started walking down the path back to the village; a black mist over him with blue lines (you know, Anime Style ;) ).

When Koga left out of sight Kagome gave out a heavy sigh.  Instead of rudely walking with him on the pathway to the village, Kagome decided to follow down stream.

“I mean, that was very sweet of him for doing that,” she said.  “But the problem is that I don’t love him.  I liked him but I don’t really love him.”

She continued following the stream until she heard someone.  She stopped.  Kagome listened in on the voice.  It sounds like a man she thought.

Kagome crept behind a tree and peeked around the corner.  There she saw Inuyasha sitting on a stump in a meadow full of flowers.  The stream added on more beauty to it while pink pedals followed the breeze.

It looked like Inuyasha was waiting for someone because his sitting pose was straight up, hands on his knees, and his attention towards the forest.  He was also mumbling to himself.

“Damn it that Miroku,” he said quietly not breaking his concentration off the forest.  “She should’ve  been here by now.”  Inuyasha remembered when he and Miroku were planning this.

“Alright Inuyasha, if you keep going deeper into the forest you’ll find this meadow full of pink flowers.  It’s a beautiful sight to see.  I took Sango there for one of our anniversaries and she loved it so I think Kagome might love it too.”

“Great!” Inuyasha said.  “Miroku messed up big time!”

            “Messed up what?”

Inuyasha jumped to his feet and turned to see Kagome behind him.  “Kagome!”

“What did Miroku mess up on?”

“He… messed up a plan we had.”

“What plan was that?”  She walked up to him smiling at him as her hair flowed in the wind.

Inuyasha couldn’t help but notice this as he smiled warmly.  “You’re so beautiful,” he said dreamily.

“What?” Kagome looked at him questionably.  “What are you talking about Inuyasha?”

Inuyasha knelt down on his knee and looked into Kagome’s eyes.  He was looking at her with the most sincere face.  There was no determination or anger but just innocence.  Who is this person…?  This can’t be Inuyasha….

“Kagome… I couldn’t really tell you this before because I was just too scared.  Yes, I was afraid to ask you but I had to tell you.  I had to tell you is that… I love you Kagome.”

She was lost of words.  She started to blush.  Not this again….

Inuyasha dug through his pocket and pulled out the Shikon no Tama.  “Who would’ve known that this jewel started our journey and our relationship.  It opened our love and hopefully it will seal it.”  He then lifted the Shikon Jewel above him offering it to Kagome and said, “Kagome… will you do me the honor of marrying you?”

Kagome stared into his eyes as Inuyasha stared into hers.  There was a long pause, nobody said a word as the breeze continued to blow.

Miroku sat on the log where Kagome and Nicole were sitting.  “Inuyasha is going to kill me for this.”

“Calm down,” Black said lying in the field.  “He’ll probably forgive you for the big softy he is.  Remember, he’s a bigger softy than he was before.”

“Not unless you ruin something big,” Miroku said.  “And I mean this was REALLY big!”

“Don’t worry,” said Nicole as she shot an arrow at the target.  “If he tries to kill you we’ll hold him off.”

“Yeah, we could probably take him,” Black rolled over onto his side.  “He wouldn’t stand a chance against me and Nicole.”

Before Miroku could protest, approaching footsteps came from the forest path.  Miroku and Nicole looked over, Black sat up to see whom it was.  Out came from the path was the sulking Koga.

            “Koga,” said Nicole.

            “Where’s Kagome?” Miroku asked nervously.

“She’d rather choose him over me,” Koga mumbled as he took a couple of steps forward then falling to his knees.

“What happened to you?” Black asked in the rudest way.

“She’d rather choose him over me.”

Black shook his head.  “Well something hit him hard.”

“She’d rather choose him over me.”

“What’s he saying?” Nicole asked, coming to Koga’s side and trying to listen what he was saying.

“She’d rather choose him over me.”

“’She’d rather choose him over me?’  What does that mean?”

They then heard rustling of bushes that where coming from the forest.  They looked back at the forest to see Inuyasha and Kagome coming out of the forest, holding hands.  Inuyasha was beaming while Kagome blushed uncontrollably.

“We have an announcement to make,” Inuyasha called out.

Everyone listened in quietly as Inuyasha took a deep breath.

“In just two weeks, Kagome and I are going to be married.”

Black Slash clapped and cheered but then looked around to see everyone was still in silence and then slowly came to a stop feeling very sheepish.

Koga’s jaw dropped and stared shockingly into the couple.  He tried to say something but nothing but nothing came out.  How can I be defeated like this?

Nicole noticed this and felt kind of sorry for him.  She patted him on the back trying to cheer him up.  “It’s okay,” she said.  “There are other women out there for you.”

Koga turned to look at her.  His sadness vanished as he jumped to his feet and grasped onto Nicole’s hands.  “Thank you!” he said enthusiastically.  “Thank you Nicole for enlightening me with new hope!”

            “You’re… welcome?”

“You’re right!  There is another woman out there for me and it’s you!”

            Nicole blinked.  “Wha-what?”

“I may have lost the woman of my life to that mutt but now I have you!”

“What the hell do you think you’re doing?!” Black demanded, marching up to Koga.

“I’m just taking my woman that’s all.”

            “You’re woman?!”

“Yeah.  Why?  Did you already claim her?”

            “I – uh – well – I…” Black stuttered a little.  “She’s just a friend.”

“’Just a friend?’” Nicole said hurtfully.

“No!  That’s not what I meant!” he said trying to find a way to correct what he said.  “Oh crap…”

“Well I guess I’ll just take her then,” Koga pulled Nicole next to him.  “Since you two are ‘just friends.’”

“Hey!” Nicole pushed away from Koga’s grasp.  “I’m not some prize that can just be won over!”

            “Yeah!” Black said.

Nicole spun around and pointed at him.  “You have nothing to say in this after that ‘just friends’ remark!”

Black took a step back and lowered his head.  “Sorry…”

“And you,” she said pointing at Koga.  “I am not your woman!  All I was doing was trying to cheer you up, not trying to be your woman!”

Koga closed his eyes and smirked.  “Nicole, I know you have the hots for me so don’t even try to hide it.”

Nicole blushed and then shook her head.  “I do not!”

Koga took her by the waist and held her close to him.  “Sure you do.  Deep down you know you want to-”

“Get your hands off of her!” Black yelled fuming.

“I thought you two were just friends?” Koga sneered.

“Yeah!  And friends look out for each other!  So let her go!”

Nicole had never seen Black act like this.  He was never protective over her… why now?

“Oh wells,” Koga pulled Nicole closer.  “I’ll just be taking her anyway.”

“Take your hands off of her, Wolf!”

Koga’s smile disappeared being replaced with a face of hatred.  “What did you call me?”

            “You heard me!”

Koga released Nicole and took a few steps toward Black.  “You looking for a fight you pathetic human?”

“At least this pathetic human can kick your sorry ass across this village.”

“That’s it!” Koga leapt forward after Black with a fist ready to make contact with Black’s face.  Black grasped onto the hilt of his sword about to unsheathe Tensia.

Before the two men collided, Nicole came up from behind him and hit him over the head with her staff as Koga came crashing to the ground.

Inuyasha came up from behind Black Slash and held him down, making sure he won’t go after the wolf demon.  “Okay you two break it up,” he said.

Koga tried to get back up but Nicole tossed a gravity stone on top of him causing him to be stuck in place.  “Once I get out of this I’m gonna kick your ass you pathetic human!”

“I'd like to see you try you mangy old wolf!”

Both men argued between each other but little did they realize that something was watching the gang.  A strange creature watched the gruesome scene from within the forest.  It was in a human shape form, his outer lines were jagged like flames, and his whole body was black as the night sky.  His face consisted of just two red eyes and a mouth that was just as red.

“Watch them,” he said with a deep rolling voice.  “Learn about them….  You may be gone my master but your memories live on within me.  I could have been liberated from you yet I still stayed loyal to you even after all these years.  I now know what I must do… the time has finally come.  Inuyasha and his friends will fall and you will become the new world leader.”

Disclaimer: So there you have it; a really long chapter that has no absolute fighting in it.  But do not fret just yet, more chapters are still to come and the action will come with it too!
