Inuyasha: Destiny Revealed

By: Guardian Angel

Chapter One

The Shikon Jewel had finally been purified by Inuyasha and his friends and demons and humans now lived side by side in peace. Or so they had thought until the year 3005, when Naraku was reborn and had once again taken over the world making humans his slaves. Inuyasha fought Naraku to save the humans, but failed and was killed by the half demon. Kagome died by his side while Koga and the others had no knowledge of what had happened as they had been kidnapped by Naraku and brutally killed in public for all to see. When Inuyasha and Naraku had fought their final battle, they destroyed the planet Earth from using Tessaiga’s ultimate attack and from Naraku using his most powerful attack and put it through the planet all the way to its core. It is now the year 5021 and very few humans are alive. After the Earth had been destroyed, they took to outer space living in space colonies or on other planets such as Mars. The human race had met a species of aliens that had taken them in and took care of them until they had found a suitable place for them. Now few humans, aliens, and some demons live in the colonies or other planets helping to protect what’s left of the human race from Naraku and his children that had also been reborn. And, thus, there were now half human half aliens, half human half demons, and half demon half aliens. There were very few who were pure human, demon, or alien now.

A fifteen-year-old girl with black hair and brown eyes woke up, yawned, and stretched. She went over to her closet and grabbed out a white long sleeved shirt that had a v-neck, blue jeans, and blue and gray tennis shoes. She quickly put them on and looked out the window as she brushed her long hair that almost reached her waist. She saw all that was left of Earth, which now looked a lot like the moon. It was nothing but gray and dust. It was in the shape of an upside down crescent moon. The girl sighed and put her brush down on her desk then quickly grabbed her backpack (after making sure she had everything for school) and ran off to the high school she would now be going to.

“Uh-huh. I see,” Sango Neko said as she looked down her list. She was a junior at Sakura Valley High School and had many good grades as well as was very athletic. There was barely any kind of sport she hadn’t played yet. It was first period right now and she was a counselor assistant. Right now she was speaking with the creepiest kid in the whole entire school named Jet.

“But, like I said, there’s no problem,” the jet blackhead boy told her.

Sango sighed. She always had to see the boy day after day after day. There was just no getting rid of the boy, as he always seemed to a have a problem everyday. She frowned as she wondered what kind of grades the boy had. “Let me rephrase that. What isn’t the problem?”

“Oh. Why didn’t you say so?” Jet said. “What isn’t the problem is all the cheerleaders are creepy. How could someone let a bunch of creepy girls join the cheerleading team? They’re not even cheerful or peppy or however it is they’re supposed to be.”

Sango nodded and wrote down some notes. Extremely paranoid, may need therapy, and… may need some medical attention and… maybe some friends and a life. She looked up at the boy. “Very well. I’ll see into it. Next!”

“Come on. Charge at me,” Miroku Houshi said looking towards his team of football players. He was captain of the football team and was also a junior. He was the best friend of the most popular boy in the whole entire school making him second most popular boy in the whole entire school.

The football players all exchanged glances then looked back towards Miroku.

“Come on. Charge,” Miroku said becoming annoyed.

“B-but captain, you’re so small compared to the rest of us,” one of them said.

“So? Charge at me,” Miroku said.

                                    “But-”

“I said, charge,” Miroku said. He sighed. “Okay. Look. Half of you go to the right and the other half go to the left.” The team members nodded and did as they were told. “Now. All of you at once charge at me.”

The team members exchanged glances again and began murmuring under their breath,

                                    “He’s puny compared to us.”

“He might get mad at us if we break one of his bones or something on accident.”

“We might make him into a pancake or something.”

Miroku rolled his eyes. “Charge at me if you want to win.” He picked up a football. “Now, do it before I tell the opposing team that we’ve forfeit all because you guys won’t charge at me and get this ball from me.”

The team exchanged glances once again, nodded, and then began charging after Miroku.

Miroku smiled. “Now, that’s more like it.” He did a flip over one of the players and hit them behind the neck causing them to fall face flat to the ground. He then kicked the other behind their back. He then punched two in the face sending them sprawling to the ground onto their backs. He punched one in the stomach and kicked a couple of more down onto the ground and soon was standing triumphantly over a pile of football players. He smiled again. “Okay. See. That’s how you should defend yourself ever should a team of players come after you and the ball. Let’s do it again, team.”

The team members all nodded and got back into formation all ready to go after Miroku again.

Inuyasha Saiga crossed his arms as he looked at his soccer team. He was the most popular boy in all of Sakura Valley High School and captain of the soccer team. He and Miroku were best friends and Sango was like a little sister he never had. Yep. He had the greatest life anyone could have. He barely got any homework and the same went to Miroku since they always had to make sure their teams didn’t lose against other schools and the teachers seemed to agree. Sango even didn’t get that much homework since she practically had enough credits, she could’ve graduated when she was a sophomore if she wanted to. He and Miroku, on the other hand, weren’t so good with schoolwork to begin with and found their place in school by not being the most intelligent, but the most athletic. Sango, Miroku, and him happened to be in the category, however, Sango was also one of the smartest people in the whole entire school adding some points to her popularity in school, but she wasn’t the most popular girl in the whole entire school. The most popular girl was none other than Inuyasha’s girlfriend. Inuyasha frowned at his team as they waited for his orders. “Okay, everyone. I want you to run five laps. Got it. And if I hear any complaining, you’ll run some more.” The team nodded and ran off. Inuyasha smirked when he heard a voice.

“You know, you’re working them too hard,” the voice muttered.

Inuyasha turned around to see Sango. “You’re late.”

“So,” Sango said shrugging. “I was busy.”

“Whatever,” Inuyasha said rolling his eyes. “Go run three laps.”

                                    “Only three?” Sango asked.

“Yah. You’re more fit then those pitiful excuses for soccer players,” Inuyasha said.

Sango frowned, but did as she was told.

Shippo Kitsune looked down at all the children that passed him and smiled. He was the youngest boy in the whole entire high school. In fact, he was only eight years old! He himself didn’t know how he had ended up going to the high school. He was also a sophomore and on the football team. He was none other than the water boy. He was an orphan as his parents were killed by two horrible vicious demons that worked for Naraku. He remembered it perfectly as though it had only happened yesterday, but it hadn’t. It had happened a year before he had met his three friends, Sango, Miroku, and Inuyasha who happened to be the one he liked messing around with the most. “Candy for you. Cookies and milk for the older kids. Candy for me. Cookies and milk for me.” He looked around to make sure the coast was clear and softly said, “And candy, cookies, and milk for my conspiracers.” He then smiled and said, “More candy for me and milk and cookies.” He looked towards Miroku’s football team to see how they were doing to see Kikyo Miko coming. His eyes widened and he quickly ran over to Miroku. “Miroku! Miroku!”

“What is it, Shippo?” Miroku asked as he turned to face the young fox demon.

                                    “Ki-Kikyo’s coming,” Shippo said.

“Uh-oh. That’s not good,” Miroku said. He turned to face Kikyo and her cheerleading team.

Yes. Kikyo was the most popular girl in the whole entire high school and was captain of the cheerleading team. She was also the girlfriend of Inuyasha and was the smartest student in the whole entire school. In fact, she could’ve graduated in the seventh grade if she wanted to.

Kikyo went over to Miroku clearly enraged as it looked as though she was getting ready to breathe fire at any moment.

Miroku held up his hands to defend himself. “Whatever it is, I didn’t do it.”

“You are not supposed to be here. My cheerleaders and me need to practice so we can cheer for your team tomorrow,” Kikyo said.

“Oh, Kikyo, I’m so touched to hear your words of kindness,” Miroku said placing a hand over his heart.

Kikyo rolled her eyes. “As if I’d really want to cheer for you and your team of wimps.”

Miroku let out a defeated sigh.

The team, on the other hand, began muttering about how they weren’t wimps and that Kikyo and her group of cheerleaders were creepy.

“Now, leave,” Kikyo said as her eyes appeared to be burning with rage.

Miroku and his team nodded then left the field.

                                    “Stupid Kikyo,” Miroku muttered.

“Okay, girls. Let’s go,” Kikyo said as she and her squad of cheerleaders went to the center of the football field.

Inuyasha watched as Sango finally finished running then heard one of the soccer players complaining that they were being worked to death. Inuyasha growled, crossed his arms, and said, “Do I hear complaining?”

“No, Captain Inuyasha,” the soccer players chorused. Some of the players, however, groaned afterwards.

Inuyasha’s eyes narrowed and he said, “Five more laps.”

“Like I said, you work them too hard,” a voice suddenly said.

Inuyasha quickly tensed, turned around, and let out a sigh of relief when he saw it was only Sango. He had been living in this time of war way too long. This was a time when you’d have to be on alert at all times since no one ever knew when Naraku and his army of demons would strike. Inuyasha quickly regained his composure and said, “Keh. They deserve it with the complaining they’re doing.”

Sango sighed and shook her head. “Whatever. I’m leaving.”

“What?! Sango, you can’t go! This is soccer practice! You’re supposed to be practicing,” Inuyasha cried.

“Well, I’m off. Later,” Sango said.

Inuyasha frowned as she left. “Fine. Whatever. There’s a game on Saturday, though, so don’t you dare forget.”

                                    “Whatever,” Sango said and left.

“Hi! Sorry I’m late!” a cheerful voice said.

Inuyasha turned around to see a black head fifteen-year-old girl with brown eyes. “Uhh, and you are?”

“Oh. Sorry. My name’s Kagome,” the girl said holding out her hand. “Kagome Higurashi.”

“Higurashi, huh,” Inuyasha said shaking her hand. “Okay. Go run five laps.”

Kagome nodded and did just that.

Inuyasha frowned as he watched the young girl. He then saw the team members of his soccer team finally finish running and turned to face them. “Okay, team, start practicing passing the ball and stuff.”

The team nodded and began doing just that.

Inuyasha turned back around to face the girl again. His eyes widened in surprise when he saw that Kagome was already done.

Kagome looked up at him smiling. “Now what?”

Inuyasha’s eyes narrowed. He then turned around and shouted, “Sango, come back here!”

Sango was just mere feet away from her car when she heard Inuyasha call out her name. She let out a sigh of frustration and turned back around to go towards Inuyasha and his team of soccer players. Once she was there, she saw Inuyasha and some new girl. She frowned and put the question of who the girl was to the side at the moment. “What?”

Inuyasha grabbed Sango by the wrist and dragged her a couple of feet away from Kagome and whispered, “That girl, she just ran five laps and she’s not even tired plus she ran them with incredible speed. In other words, she’s almost as fast as me and she’s a girl.”

Sango rolled her eyes. “So? That just means she has a lot of endurance.”

                                    “Yeah, but-”

Sango frowned ignoring the half dog demon and went over to Kagome. “Hi! My name’s Sango!”

“Hey! My name’s Kagome!” Kagome said shaking Sango’s hand.

“What grade are you in?” Sango asked.

“Oh. I’m in ninth grade,” Kagome said.

“What?!” Sango and Inuyasha cried out in disbelief.

“I’m in ninth grade,” Kagome said puzzled by why they were so surprised. At her old school, many girls in her grade were trained under the strictest training and so had to learn how to run with incredible speed and every martial art ever known to men as well as many spiritual techniques as she and many girls had priestess powers. She didn’t think it was odd for a girl her age to be in the ninth grade and possess such amazing skills. She thought every girl her age would know everything she did, though, she hadn’t been the most popular girl in school or the smartest or the fastest, but she didn’t care for those things. Girls who graduated from her school usually joined the army to help fight Naraku, as they possessed the skills to do so. Her school had the highest succession rate of people from her school going into the army or anything of that sort.

“But you-and-I-and-what?!” Inuyasha cried again still unable to believe what he had heard.

“Oh. Well, then, so you’re a freshman. Very well,” Sango said.

“Umm, say, captain, what’s your name?” Kagome asked looking at Inuyasha as though the fact she was in the ninth grade was common knowledge.

“Huh? Oh. My name. It’s… Inuyasha,” the young, somewhat confused, captain said.

Kagome nodded smiling. “So, now what?”

“Sango, you go train the boys,” Inuyasha said. “I’ll take care of Kagome.”

Sango nodded and ran over to the boys.

Inuyasha turned around to face the young girl. “Okay. You and I are going to go one on one got it?”

Kagome nodded and followed Inuyasha as he led her to where they would be playing at. Inuyasha went in the goal and passed the soccer ball to her. Kagome looked towards him waiting for her directions.

“Okay. You have to make the ball get pass me, okay? You know, I’m your opponent and all,” Inuyasha said.

Kagome nodded and began running down to Inuyasha.

Sango watched the two and wondered what the two were up to.

                                    “Hello, Sango,” a voice said.

Sango turned around to see Miroku. The two went to sit underneath a tree.

“So, who’s the new girl?” Miroku asked.

“Her name’s Kagome and she’s a freshman,” Sango said.

“Is it just me is Inuyasha tensing?” Miroku asked.

“If it’s you, then I must be sensing it,” Sango said.

Kagome drew closer to Inuyasha and the goal. I’m going to make it. I’m going to make it.

Inuyasha watched her tensing as he did so. I can do this. I can do this. She’s just a freshman. She’s fresh meat. I can take care of her just like that.

Kagome stopped then kicked the ball.

Inuyasha went in for the catch. I’m going to get it. I’m going to get it.

Kagome smiled as she saw that she made a goal. Inuyasha looked towards the ball surprised then was filled with anger. He growled and turned around to face Kagome, passing the soccer ball as he did so.

“Lucky shot,” Inuyasha muttered. “Go again.”

Kagome nodded and did just that. She made another goal, which got Inuyasha even angrier. Soon, Kagome was making all the goals and Inuyasha was becoming all the more furious.

Sango and Miroku let out sighs as Inuyasha tried to make Kagome try to score again.

“I guess he’s never met anyone who’s actually been capable of being his equal or better,” Miroku muttered.

“No. He’s just better when it comes to offensive than he is when it comes to defensive,” Sango said crossing her arms.

“I suppose so,” Miroku said. He then turned to face Sango. “So, are you the defensive type or the forward type?”

Sango frowned and hit him over the head. “None of your business.”

“What is going on?” a calm voice asked.

Sango and Miroku turned around to see Kikyo.

“Umm, well, you see, there’s this new girl who happens to be in the ninth grade and it appears to me that he’s quite annoyed that he’s finally met someone who can take him on and that someone happens to be a girl,” Miroku said. “And happens to be younger than him, too.”

Kikyo frowned and turned to watch Inuyasha and Kagome as the young fifteen year old made yet another goal. She sighed and was about to leave when a soccer ball hit her in the head. She turned to glare at the one who had dared to hit her. Miroku’s eyes were wide and Sango looked about the place whistling innocently. Kikyo groaned and put a hand over where the ball had hit her.

“I’m going to go to the nurse’s office and get me an icepack,” Kikyo said.

Miroku looked towards Sango. “I can’t believe you just did that!”

“Well, I did and I’m proud of it,” Sango said smiling and crossing her arms. “Besides, she deserves it for being such a witch all the time.”

Miroku slightly smiled, stood up, and went over to Sango. “Yes, I, too, agree that she rightfully deserved that for being such a snub.”

Sango was about to say something else about Kikyo when she and Miroku heard a cry. They both turned around to see Inuyasha running after Kikyo and Kagome watching him confused.

Kagome sighed and went over to Sango and Miroku. “Hi! I’m Kagome. And you are?”

Miroku gave her a charming smile and held out his hand. Sango narrowed her eyes as he did this swearing to herself that if Miroku dared to pull one of his moves on the young girl, she would personally slaughter him.

“I am Miroku, a junior at the high school,” Miroku said.

“Oh. You’re a junior?” Kagome said as she studied Miroku.

                                    “Yes, I am,” Miroku said.

“Actually, he was supposed to be a senior, but he failed and now he has to repeat his junior year,” Sango said. “I, on the other hand, am supposed to be a sophomore, but I’m also a junior.”

Kagome looked towards Sango then towards Miroku with shock. “You’re both juniors? That’s amazing! Only the ones with top skill in all academic areas get to be a junior or even a senior. Many don’t even make it to that level because of Naraku and his demon spawn.”

Sango and Miroku exchanged puzzled glances then looked back towards Kagome.

“What do you mean that only the ones with top skill in all academic areas get to be juniors and seniors?” Sango asked.

“Yes. And what did you mean by ‘many don’t even make it to that level because of Naraku and his spawn?’” Miroku asked.

“Well, umm, let me see how to put this,” Kagome said as she looked down at the ground. “Well, you see, we have four levels of skills you must be taught. The First Level, or Freshman Level, is the level where you are taught all the basics that you learned throughout your life since the beginning of preschool. Once you have completed going through the refreshment, you start getting into the stuff you’d be learning in the Second Level, or Sophomore Level. The Sophomore Level is when you really start getting involved in how to control your priestess powers and how to go to the full limit of them. However, you don’t start using the full extent of your powers until you’re in the Third Level, or Junior Level. I really don’t know what we do in the Third Level yet as I’ve only recently started it.” She shifted her footing nervously. “Not that I’m saying that you two shouldn’t be in your Third Level, but many people older than me have yet to complete the second stage. I’m the youngest at my school to be in the Third Level. They said there was only one girl who had also been younger than everyone at the school and had gone to her junior year when she was thirteen. All I remember was that they said her name also started with a ‘k’ and she had left in her junior year. I believe she would’ve been in the seventh grade if we had gone with the traditional school way. I heard she was even going to your high school and had made many accomplishments. I also heard her older sister, Kaede, doesn’t even compare to her younger sister’s records. I… I wish to accomplish as much as she did. It would be quite an honor if I could meet her in person. She’s… my hero. It is said that her powers rival even those of Naraku.”

Sango and Miroku exchanged glances again then looked back towards Kagome.

“Well, umm, as you put it, our school goes by the traditional school ways,” Sango said.

Kagome looked towards Sango surprised then nodded once she understood what she meant. So then that means that she and Miroku are only in their Junior Level by means of education while I am in the Junior Level by means of education and skill. Yes. I understand very well, but how their nation survived up to this point, I do not understand. She sighed then saw Inuyasha coming back looking quite angry.

“You!” Inuyasha growled pointing a threatening finger at Sango. “How dare you! Why’d you go and hurt Kikyo?! She’s had enough of a hard day without you throwing soccer balls at her!”

“Hey! I must tell you that it was not Sango who harmed your girlfriend, but someone else,” Miroku said jumping in Sango’s defense.

Inuyasha growled then looked towards his soccer team. He went straight over to them and said, “All of you, ten laps.”

The team gave him a pleading look.

“Now!” Inuyasha said between a bark and a shout.

Kagome’s eyes narrowed when she realized what Inuyasha was doing and went in front of him. “Don’t listen to a word he says. He’s just being a big jerk. You shouldn’t have to run when all he’s doing is taking his anger out on you.”

Inuyasha growled and said, “I’m captain now back off.”

Kagome spun around to face Inuyasha putting her hands on her hips. “No. I don’t care who you are. You have no right to take your anger out on these poor souls.”

Inuyasha let out another growl. “Listen, you, I don’t know who you think you are, but-”

“What level are you?” Kagome asked not letting Inuyasha finish.

“Huh? What? Oh! Well, I should let you know that I’m a junior,” Inuyasha said smugly crossing his arms.

Kagome frowned. “Well, I suppose you got in there for your strength instead of your intelligence or skills.”

“What?!” Inuyasha cried glaring down at her.

“Okay. So maybe you got in there because you have a hearing disability. I have heard that they are sent to the higher levels because that’s the only way they can cure themselves,” Kagome said thoughtfully.

Inuyasha gave her a death glare.

                                    Kagome ignored him.

Sango and Miroku let out sighs.

“Well, I got to go before I’m late for my next class,” Sango said and turned to leave.

Kagome let out a yelp. “I’m going to be late! I can’t be late on my first day at a new school!” With that, she began running off.

“I’ll meet you later, Inu,” Miroku said patting Inuyasha on the back then left.

Inuyasha turned his back to them stubbornly then ran off to his next class.
