Inuyasha: The Present Days

Disclaimer: Hello everyone, I am back and I'm here to stay for a few chapters. As you can see this is the sequel to my last fic Inuyasha: The Final Days. So now all your cooped up questions will now be answered in this fic. AND... I don't own Inuyasha, if I did, MAN, that will be pure fantasy.

Chapter 1: The Man Thought to be Dead

Spring was almost over as the pedals of the flowers withered away. Pedals flew across the Feudal Era air as Kagome laid underneath a flowered tree. Kagome lied there with her eyes closed, her hands behind her head, and lying on soft green grass. She then, felt something tugging on her shirt. She smiled. It must be Shippo, she thought, probably going to tell me what Inuyasha did to him. She opened her eyes to only see her younger brother Sota, looking over her and seeing she was only in her backyard. She sat up.

"What do you want?" she said angrily.
"Geez, sorry," he said, "I just came out here to ask you a question."
"What is it?"
"What are you doing out here?"
"WHAT?!" she yelled, "you wake me up for a stupid question!" (Testy, isn't she?)

Sota shot her a dark look. "Yeah, I did! Because I'm wondering why aren't you hanging out with your friends anymore! You've been doing nothing at all around the house!"
Kagome stared at him blankly.
"Because I'm worried about you!" he said. "Because you've been sulking around for eight weeks Kagome! Yeah, I know, because Inuyasha died. I know how you feel Kagome, he was my hero and I'm sad because he died. But that doesn't mean it's the end of the world. You have to face the facts. He's gone. So cheer up, and go hang out with your friends or whatever."

Sota then turned and went back to the house, leaving Kagome alone. Kagome sat there under the tree as she felt the loneliness grow around her. She shivered. Maybe I should hang out with my friends, Kagome thought, that'll probably cheer me up. She got up and headed towards the house. When she entered she heard the phone ringing. She then heard the phone being picked up. She
heard her mother's voice.

"Hello... Yes, Kagome's here. Kagome!" Her mother called, "phone!"

Kagome walked up to her mother and took the phone. "Hello?"
"Kagome," It was one of her friends, "Hey, are you free?"
"Ummm... yeah."
"Can you come to the mall?"
"Sure," Kagome said.
"Great. Me and the other girls are going to look for boys and going shopping."
"Okay, see ya there."

She hung up the phone and went up to her room so she can get dressed. Before leaving, Kagome told her mother where she was going and left. She was walking down the pathway towards the stairs until she stopped. Kagome quickly turned around to see nothing.

"Huh?" She said, scratching her head. "Thought I swore I heard someone following me." Or at least someone watching me, she thought. She turned around again walking towards the stairs until she stopped again. She felt this eerie feeling that someone was watching her. She then spun around quickly to see... no one. She shrugged it off, turned around and headed down the stairs. As her head disappeared from sight a tree filled with leaves started to shake a little. Inside the tree, crouched a man. He had a red cap, a red T-shirt, blue jeans, and white running shoes. He also had white hair and yellow eyes. It was Inuyasha.

"Nothing won't stop me from protecting you Kagome," he said, "Not even-" before he could finish, his foot slipped as he fell back out of the tree, and landing on top of his head. Luckily, Kagome was out of earshot.

As Kagome got to the mall she spotted her friends in front of the entrance, waving their hands in the air. She ran up to them, ready to go shopping.

"We've got you a surprised guest here for you Kagome," one of her friends said. "You won't guess who it is."
"Who is it?" Kagome asked.
"It's Hojo of course," they all said.

They all walked in together talking to one another. But far from the entrance leaning against a pole and hiding behind a newspaper was Inuyasha. He was peering at them from the top of the newspaper. When he saw all of them enter, he folded up his newspaper and strolled right in.

As Kagome and the others were looking for a place to shop, Inuyasha was following them from a far distance. The girls and Kagome finally found some boys and Kagome finding Hojo as they all went shopping together. Kagome was waiting outside for the girls with Hojo outside a store, she felt as if she was being watched again. She started looking around. Hojo noticed what she was doing.

"What's wrong Kagome," Hojo asked, "It's not your back again, is it?"
"No," she said. "I feel like someone's watching me."
"Well, there's a lot of people around the mall so a lot of people are sometimes staring at you for a moment then resume back on what they were doing."
"Yeah, you're right. Why should I be worried."

As the girls left the store with their boys, Kagome and Hojo joined them. But far behind them Inuyasha was again spying on them through the newspaper. He folded the newspaper and turned to walk away.

BAM

As he turned to walk away, he walked hard into a pole. He started to slide off as he said to himself, "I guess this is her secret way of 'sit'."
He got up and dusted himself off and continued to away and out of the mall.

Inuyasha jumped and ran through the city as he went to the city limits. There he found a house that was one story high. He walked up to the door, pulled out a key, put into the locked, unlocked the door, and went inside. As he closed the door behind him he turned to see a cozy home. To his left was a Family Room, in front of him was the Living Room, and to his right was the Kitchen and Dining room. And also, across the Living Room were three doors: the one to the left was his room. The one in the center was the shrine of the Tetsusiaga. And the one to the right was...
A boy came out of the room to his right. He was wearing green pants with a blue shirt and a green vest. He also had brown hair and green eyes. He was a bit muscular but slender and he also had his long hair in a ponytail. Inuyasha smiled.

"So, how's it going... Shippo?"

Shippo smiled as he fell onto one of the couches in the Living Room.
"Not too bad," Shippo said. "Sitting here all alone is okay. So, how is Kagome?"

"She's alright," he said as Inuyasha sat on another couch opposite  of Shippo's.

Shippo gave a disgruntle look at Inuyasha as he said, "When are we going to tell Kagome?"
Inuyasha looked up at Shippo then looked up at the ceiling, thinking hard. He looked back at Shippo. "What do think if we pay Kagome a visit," Inuyasha said smiling.

Shippo jumped up, out of his seat. "Well, what are we waiting for?" Shippo said with excitement in his voice. "Lets go!"
