Inuyasha: A New Beginning

Chapter Eight
Naraku sat down in his throne chair. A guard approached him and bowed. Naraku signaled for him to stand up.
“What is it?” Naraku asked as the guard stood back up.
“We have gathered information from our spies that Ten Village is not co-operating,” the guard said.
“Very well. We shall attack when the moon is at its highest point in the sky,” Naraku said.
The guard bowed again. “I shall inform the others of this.” With that said, he left.
Inuyasha and the others stopped on a hill in front of the village they were going to stay at. Nina had fallen asleep during their trip. Inuyasha glanced looked at her still puzzled by what had upset the girl earlier.
Nina groaned and woke up. She saw Inuyasha’s face and smiled. “Hey. Are we there yet?”
“Yep,” Inuyasha said. He looked towards the village. “It’s right over there.”
Nina looked over his shoulder and gasped. A look of terror reached her face. It was the same village Nina had seen earlier that day before it had been attacked by Naraku.
Inuyasha turned back to face her as a look of worry reached his face. “What’s wrong?”
Nina didn’t answer. Instead, she buried her face into his hair and back. “C-can we leave? I don’t want to stay here. Please?”
Inuyasha’s looked even more worried and looked towards Miroku for help.
Miroku frowned and went over to Nina. “Lady Nina, please tell me why you don’t wish to stay here.”
Nina’s eyes began filling up with tears again. “Be-because… I just have a bad feeling about this. That’s all.”
Inuyasha felt something wet go down his back and knew Nina was crying again. He glared at Miroku.
Miroku noticed this and was taken aback. “What did I do?”
“You are so stupid,” Inuyasha said and looked back towards Nina leaving Miroku still confused about what he had done. “Nina…”
Sango went over to Inuyasha and Nina. “We’ll just go in there to meet up with Kaede, okay.”
Nina wiped her tears away and looked towards Sango. She nodded. “Okay.”
Sango smiled and
looked towards Miroku. “Let’s go.”
Miroku nodded still a bit a confused why
Inuyasha had glared at him. They all then went into the village. The guards let
them through when they had mentioned about Kaede and had given their names to
them.
Inuyasha and the others gasped and looked around in awe at the village. Nina, on the other hand, looked around sadly.
In this village, all demons, human, and half-breeds lived peacefully side-by-side. All the houses were two stories tall and were fitted like apartments. On one floor, someone lived there and on the second floor, someone else would live there. The village looked just like the one Kaede had lived in before Naraku had taken it over.
Inuyasha and the others entered one of the houses. Kaede stood in front of them.
“Welcome, old and new friends,” Kaede said.
Inuyasha put Nina down and they all took sat down on the floor forming a circle. Nina was in between Sharon and Anna, Kagome was next to Anna and Izumi, Inuyasha was next to Izumi and Miroku, Sakura was in between Miroku and Kai, Kai was in between Sakura and Sango, Kirara was in Sango’s lap, Koga was next to Sango and Shippo, Shippo was in between Koga and Sesshomaru, Sesshomaru was between Shippo and Kaede, and Kaede was between Anna and Sesshomaru.
Kaede drank some of her tea. “So, Nina, we meet at last. Hmm, are those two other friends of yours from your world?”
“Huh? Umm, yeah,” Nina said. “They’re names are Anna and Sharon.”
Kaede nodded and looked towards Sesshomaru. “I take that Naraku has Rin seeing as she is not with ye.”
Sesshomaru crossed his arms and let out a sigh. “Yes, Naraku does have Rin.”
Nina’s head shot up. She had just remembered that Jaken wasn’t with them. “Sesshomaru, where’s Jaken?”
Sesshomaru looked towards Nina. “He’s… dead. Naraku killed him.”
Nina looked down at the ground. “I’m sorry.” She then looked up at Sango. “Umm, what happened to Kohaku?”
Sango let out a sigh and looked down at Kirara. “Kohaku is… being held prisoner by Naraku. I haven’t seen him in such a long time. I really do miss him.”
Miroku looked towards Sango and ushered for the kids to trade him places. They did and Miroku put his arm around Sango’s shoulders and began trying to comfort her.
Nina looked back down at the ground and put her hand around the Shikon no Tama that was hanging loosely down her neck.
Kaede spotted the jewel in Nina’s hand and looked towards her. “Then it’s true.”
Nina looked towards Kaede.
“The jewel has once again appeared in this world,” Kaede said. “You being here will cause more bad than good.” She got up. “I suggest you stay here the night, but leave in the morning as soon as possible. There are many demons and humans who are loyal to Naraku who will tell him of the jewel’s presence if you are to stay here longer than need be. There is an empty room upstairs. I shall call upon my apprentice to escort you to your room.” Kaede left the room.
After a couple of minutes went by, the door opened again and a young woman entered the room. She had long purple hair that reached her knees and was tied back in the way Kikyo wore her hair and she had blue eyes. She wore the same kind of clothes Kaede and Kikyo wore. She smiled warmly. “Hello. I am Kaede’s apprentice. My name is-“
“Pretty lady,” Miroku said. His eyes were popping out for the woman was very beautiful indeed.
Shippo and Kai’s eyes were popping out as well. Inuyasha looked everywhere, but at the girl. Koga just snorted and said that Inuyasha and Miroku weren’t loyal to their women while he was, though the others did notice he was also trying to look everywhere, but at the girl.
Sango hit Miroku on the head. “Will you quit doing that!!”
Miroku rubbed his head and smiled. “Of course, my dear Sango.”
Sango rolled her eyes.
Sakura hit Kai on the head.
Kai glared at her. “Why’d you do that for?!”
“Because you kept staring at the girl,” Sakura said. “It works on Dad when Mom does it.”
Kai closed his eyes, turned away from his sister, and crossed his arms. “Whatever.”
Kagome glared at Inuyasha. “Inuyasha, I’m your wife. You’re not suppose to go gaga over other girls!!”
Inuyasha looked at her. “I’m not going gaga over that girl! The only girl I’ll ever go gaga over is you, Kagome.” He took her hand in his. “Okay. So, don’t get all jealous over girls like that. Because you’re the only one for me!”
“Inuyasha…” Kagome said as she looked into his eyes.
“Umm, can we please not have another love scene here?” Sharon asked as the two were about to kiss. “Because it’s kinda, umm… well, I can’t really think of the word, but can you guys go do that stuff somewhere else?”
Inuyasha and Kagome backed up a little from each other and acted like nothing happened.
Nina frowned as she saw that Shippo was still going gaga over the girl and Koga was still trying to look everywhere, but at the girl. She then looked towards the girl. “Anyway, you were saying.”
“Ahem, yes. I was saying that my name is Alendria,” the girl said.
This shocked Sango, Miroku, and Kagome.
“Alendria?!” the three asked in unison.
“The Alendria?” Miroku asked.
“The one who is a for-seer?” Sango asked.
“The one who possessed me?” Kagome asked.
“That Alendria?” all three of them asked.
“Umm, yes. That would be me,” Alendria said.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa! Hold the phone!” Inuyasha said waving his arms around. “Possessed Kagome?! What the hell were you doing possessing her?!”
“Well, I had to in order to tell Sango and Miroku a story,” Alendria said. “You see, we had for-seen that one day we all meet in this very spot-“
“Then you know what’s going to happen tonight?” Nina urgently asked. She remembered her vision she had had earlier that day.
“Tonight?” Alendria asked blankly.
Nina sighed and looked back down at the ground sadly. “Never mind.”
“You’ve been having visions, haven’t you?” Alendria asked.
Nina looked up at her surprised. “How did you know?”
Alendria smiled. “I am for-seer. I know everything.”
“Then you should know what’s going to happen tonight,” Nina said. “Exactly at midnight.”
“At last, I do not know,” Alendria said. “We, for-seers have been having trouble reading the stars ever since 1988 in the month of October. Yes, Nina, we’ve been having trouble reading the stars ever since you were born. We really have no idea how you have these visions or how you are able to live at the same time as Kagome. We are even doubting that you are Kagome’s reincarnation.”
Inuyasha stood up when she mentioned this. “She has to be. How else can she look so much like her and practically have the same personality as her?!”
“Then if she is, how is it she also looks like Kikyo and can also have her personality?” Alendria asked.
“Because Kagome is Kikyo’s reincarnation. That’s how,” Inuyasha said.
“If so, then tell me, how do they exist at the same time?” Alendria asked.
“You said that someone messed up your systems,” Miroku said also getting up.
Alendria smiled. “Or did I?”
Miroku looked at her puzzled. Inuyasha started getting angry and annoyed.
Sango got up. “Have you been lying to us all along?!”
Alendria’s smile widened. “My dear Sango, don’t be so naïve. I’d never lie to you.”
Nina stood up and watched. Sharon and Anna joined her.
“Listen, lady, I am getting very annoyed of you. If you don’t watch it, I may get violent,” Inuyasha said.
“Oh, no, you won’t,” Alendria said. “Kagome would not allow it.”
Inuyasha showed his claws. “We’ll see.”
“No, Inuyasha, don’t!” Nina cried as Inuyasha began to charge at Alendria.
Inuyasha stopped and looked at Nina angrily. “And why should I?! She’s making up lies about you.”
Nina looked up at him. “Maybe, she’s not! Inuyasha, who are you to say what is truth and what isn’t?”
Inuyasha’s anger disappeared and he looked at her puzzled. “What do you mean?”
Nina looked down at the ground. “Maybe I really am not Kagome’s reincarnation, but someone who just resembles her. It happens once in a while, you know.”
Anna looked towards Nina and nodded. Her friend, Keiko, had looked just like her and many people got them mixed up even though they weren’t even related.
Sharon, on the other hand, was starting to get angry as well as annoyed. “Nina, everyone knows you’re Kagome’s reincarnation. You act just like her. You practically have the same family as her. Your brother’s exactly like Sota. You look just like her. You’re the same age as her when she was in ninth grade. You have almost everything she has. As far as I know, most guys like you more than just a friend. You’re able to come here just like Kagome. You even had the Shikon Jewel in your body. You’re practically a little angel. You’re too pure. What more do I have to say? You’re practically her double!”
Nina sighed and shook her head. “I’m so confused.”
Alendria also let out a sigh. “I suggest you get some rest, but before you do, I suggest you eat and drink something first.” She left the room quickly and came back after a couple of minutes carrying a tray with food and drinks. She handed the tray to them and smiled. “Enjoy.” She left.
Inuyasha and the others began eating and drinking. Soon, after their meal, they went to bed saying they were suddenly feeling very tired. Nina was the only who didn’t feel that tired at all.
She got up and left the building thinking she must not be very tired because she had fallen asleep during their trip to the village. She sat down on a chair that was on the porch. Who am I really? Am I really Kagome’s reincarnation? If I’m not, how is it that I can do this stuff, then? Why do I have these visions? I’m so confused. She looked up at the sky to see the sun had set a long time ago. How long were we talking? What time is it? She looked up at the half moon. I have so many questions. I can’t answer all of them on my own. If I’m not Kagome’s reincarnation, then how did the jewel get inside my body? What happened to the jewel that Kagome had burned with her remains? Is Yura really my English teacher? Why does she hate me? Does she think I’m Kagome? Should I tell Inuyasha? She then remembered she had brought the first aid kit with her for his wounds as well as the others. “All my gosh! How could I forget? Especially since Kai and Sakura are just humans!” She quickly ran into back into the building and went upstairs. She went over to her backpack as quietly as she could since the others had fallen asleep. She then opened it and started going through it searching for the first aid kit. She then heard groaning and stopped.
“Nina, what are you doing?” a voice asked.
Nina turned around to see a sleepy Inuyasha. “Oh. Sorry. Did I wake you?”
Inuyasha frowned. “No. I’ve been awake.”
“Oh,” Nina said unsure of what to say.
“So, what are you doing?” Inuyasha asked.
“Oh. I’m, uhh, searching for the first aid kit my mom gave to me,” Nina said. “You know, since you and the others had gotten wounded and all from our last battle.”
“Huh? Nina, I’m fine,” Inuyasha said. “I’m half demon after all. I heal fast.”
“I know that,” Nina said rolling her eyes. “I mean, well, okay, so I was going to try and help your wounds knowing this. What do you want from me? I was worried about you and the others. Is that so wrong?”
Inuyasha sighed and rolled onto his back closing his eyes. “Nina, you’re a good friend. Don’t ever change, ‘kay.”
Nina smiled as she began blushing. “Umm, yeah. Don’t worry. I won’t.”
Inuyasha then opened his eyes. “Something’s been bugging me since that battle.”
“What is it?” Nina asked.
“You said something about Yura,” Inuyasha said rolling onto his side to look at Nina.
“Umm, oh, that,” Nina said. Should I tell him? Might as well. “Umm, well, this is going to sound really stupid, but, umm, there’s a teacher at my school and I think she’s the reincarnation of Yura.” She began laughing nervously. “Pretty stupid, huh?”
Inuyasha shook his head. “No, it’s not, Nina. You should believe what you feel is right. Now, tell me about this teacher of yours.”
Nina smiled. “Okay. Well, she looks just like Yura. I think she would even dress like Yura if she had a choice, but she can’t because of the dress code. Which I am very thankful for. Her name is even Yura. And she acts like she hates me. I think it’s because I look so much like Kagome. She may even think I am Kagome. She even tried getting me in trouble and called me a liar in front of my whole class! She is such a-such a-such a witch! She looks kinda evil, too.”
Inuyasha nodded. “Might be Yura.”
“Oh. And she said something that sounded really fishy, too. She said and I quote, ‘And tell your dog friend to steer clear away from here or I’ll see to it that he is sent to the pound,’” Nina said.
“Oh, did she now?” Inuyasha asked smiling. He got up. “We’ll see. I’d like to have a chat with this teacher of yours.”
“Yeah. Sure. Just don’t do anything you might regret,” Nina said.
Inuyasha lied back down on his back and yawned. “Man, why am I so tired?! I’ve never felt this tired since-since…”
“Inuyasha?” Nina asked when she didn’t hear Inuyasha’s voice anymore. She got up and went over to him a bit worried. When she reached his bed, she found him sound asleep. “Aww, isn’t that cute?” She frowned as she saw the sky darken even more. She went over to Anna to see she hadn’t even bothered to change or take off her glasses. She must’ve been really tired. She looked down at Anna’s watch to see it was about 11:30. Nina’s eyes widened. How long have I been talking to Inuyasha? Sheesh. No wonder he was so tired. She went back down stairs. And yet, I feel wide- awake. She left the building again and was surprised to see people still awake and walking around the village. She sighed and sat down on the steps of the porch. She then saw something white and orange go by. She looked towards it to see it was gone. Inuyasha? No. He’s asleep. Maybe it was my imagination. She let out another sigh. I can’t sleep. She looked up at the moon see it was almost at its highest point in the sky. Her eyes widened. My vision! She immediately got up. I have to go and wake up the others before Naraku gets here. She ran into the building again. She then ran upstairs and went to Inuyasha first. “Inuyasha! Inuyasha! Wake up! It’s an emergency! Inuyasha!” She growled in frustration and went over to the others to try and wake them up; however, it did not work. “What’s wrong with you guys?! Wake up!” She began getting worried. “Guys, you’re going to die if you don’t get up! Wake up!” Tears began filing her eyes. I have to get Kaede. Maybe she knows how to wake them up. She ran back downstairs and into Kaede’s room. “Lady Kaede, wake up!” She noticed that Alendria wasn’t there. She ignored that. “Kaede, please!”
Kaede instantly woke up. “My goodness, child, what is it?” She got out of bed and put her hair back up.
“Inuyasha and the others aren’t waking up,” Nina said.
“And why should they?” Kaede asked as look of worry reached her face.
“Ohhh, Lady Kaede, because something terrible is about to happen,” Nina said as the tears began going down her face.
Kaede nodded. “Then we have better get to them now.” She began running up the stairs. Nina followed. Kaede tried waking them up and failed. She then went over to Inuyasha. “Inuyasha, wake up. Inuyasha? Inuyasha?! For goodness sake, wake up. Inuyasha!”
Nina looked towards Anna’s watch nervously as it neared midnight. She then ran over to Inuyasha and began shaking him. “Inuyasha, wake up! Wake up! You’re going to get killed! Inuyasha!” She began sobbing and buried her face in his chest. “Inuyasha, please.” She then felt a hand in her hair.
“Nina?” a tired voice asked.
Nina looked up to see Inuyasha had woken up.
Inuyasha saw she had been crying. “Why were you crying? What’s wrong? What time is it? What are you doing in here Kaede? What the hell is going on?”
“Inuyasha, we have no time to explain,” Kaede said. “Hurry up and get the others up. I fear something most terrible is about to happen.”
Inuyasha went over to the others and tried waking them up. They did, but it was too late. They heard horns being blown and cries of Naraku is coming. Nina’s face was filled with terror as she fell to her knees.
“He’s here. We’re too late,” Nina said.
Inuyasha looked towards her puzzled and then realized why she hadn’t wanted to enter the village and why she had been crying and she was scared now. She had a vision of this. She probably saw us die or something. His hands turned into fists. I won’t let that happen. Kagome will not die! Izumi won’t die! Nina won’t die! NO ONE WILL DIE!! He looked towards the others. “Get out of here, now! You’re all going to die if you don’t!”
“What? Why?” Miroku and the others asked.
“No time to explain!” Inuyasha and Nina cried.
“Just get out of here!” Nina cried as tears threatened to go back down her face.
The others nodded and began running as fast as they could out of the building and trying not to leave anyone behind. Kagome held onto Izumi’s hand and looked back towards Inuyasha to see he was beside Nina.
“Inuyasha, Nina, you two have to go!” Kagome cried.
Inuyasha helped Nina up. “Kagome, get out of here! I’ll be right behind ya!”
Nina got up and turned to leave. “The whole village will be slaughtered.” She turned to face Inuyasha. “I can’t let that happen. We have to do something.”
“We aren’t going to do anything,” Inuyasha said. “I will. You’re going to get out of here.”
“What?! No way!” Nina cried. “I can’t let countless innocent people get killed!”
“It’s not your concern rather they get killed or not!” Inuyasha said.
Nina growled. “We’re wasting valuable time here by arguing! Naraku’s on his way ready to kill anyone rather they be friend or foe! I won’t let that happen! I can’t let that happen! I don’t care what you say! I will stop this from happening!”
“Quit worrying about other people for once in your life and worry about yourself!” Inuyasha yelled. “Or at least think about the Shikon Jewel!”
Nina gasped and looked down at the jewel. She had completely forgotten about it.
Inuyasha looked down at the jewel. “If Naraku gets his hands on the jewel, it could mean the end of my world as well as yours. Please, Nina, get out of here.”
Nina felt tears fill her eyes again. “O-okay, but you have to promise to not die. Kagome needs you. So does Izumi. Everyone needs you. You can’t fail them now.”
Inuyasha smiled and went over to her and gave her a hug. “I’m not going fail them or you. I’ll come back. I promise.”
Nina smiled as she remembered the dreams she had of Kagome “dying.” “’And I’ll find you and protect you forever. I promise.’ Those were the words you said to Kagome when you thought she had died.”
“And I meant them,” Inuyasha said. “And I promise the same thing to you. Now, go. I’m trying to protect you and you’re not letting me.”
Nina smiled and ran off. Before she left the room, she said, “If you don’t come back, I’ll make sure you live a miserable after life.”
Inuyasha smiled as she finally left. He then got his claws ready. “Naraku, it’s time for you to die.”
Nina met up with Kagome and the others. They were almost at the end of the village. Just then, the gate gave way at the very front of the village. Nina saw arrows surrounded by fire go by and land in roofs setting it on fire. She also saw soldiers run in swinging their swords. They were closely followed by soldiers riding horses carrying swords and bow and arrows. She and the others then came across a dead end.
“Oh, great. Now what?” Shippo asked.
“We fight,” Sango said putting her kids behind her and grabbing out her boomerang.
Miroku held up his staff ready to fight. “It looks like we have no other choice.”
Koga got ready to fight. Kai put his little sister behind him and got ready to take the prayer beads off his hand. Sakura rolled her eyes and reached into her red belt grabbing out a mini boomerang. Shippo unsheathed Koga’s sword. When Koga protested, he said he needed something other than his tricks and foxfire to defend himself. Kagome put Izumi behind her and grabbed out her quiver filled with several arrows and her bow. She grabbed out an arrow and aimed it. Nina went into her backpack and grabbed out a lighter, her bow, and quiver. She then picked her bow up and grabbed out an arrow. She put the lighter on and lit her arrow up. She then put the lighter away and aimed the arrow on her bow.
“Time to give them a taste of their own medicine,” Nina said as she released her arrow.
Kagome had also released hers and was aiming another one. Sango threw her boomerang. Sesshomaru unsheathed Toukijin and attacked all the soldiers who got passed Kagome and Nina’s arrows and Sango’s boomerang. Miroku did the same only he used his staff. Kai punched any that near him and Sakura and used the wind tunnel once in a while. Sakura threw her boomerang at any who dared to come near her. Shippo did the same thing as Sesshomaru, but wasn’t having much luck with the sword, as he wasn’t very skilled with it. So, he used his foxfire once in a while. Kaede stood behind them all, watching, as she didn’t have anything to help with. Nina found she was running out of arrows and so put the bow and quiver back in her backpack. She then got up and faced the soldiers. Her claws appeared on her hands and she charged at them clawing every one of them that got close to her.
Inuyasha, meanwhile, was up at the front of the town was clawing at anyone who was part of Naraku’s army that got in his way as he was aiming to kill Naraku.
Naraku watched smiling as the village was in flames and he saw his team was winning. Or so it seemed. He spotted the back of the village and saw several of his soldiers being killed. He looked around for the cause of this and spotted Nina and the others killing the soldiers. He growled. Especially after he saw Kagome. The one person he was so sure he had killed. She will die! “All soldiers on elephants, charge in after the ones who stand in the back!”
The soldiers obeyed and began going towards the back.
Naraku smiled again. Let’s see you try escaping this time.
Nina clawed another one, but stopped when she saw a doll fall out of the soldier’s pocket. Her claws disappeared as she picked the doll up. It had little black eyes and black hair that was in a braid. The clothes were in blood now, but Nina could tell that the doll had worn an orange kimono. Tears started going down her face. She dropped the doll and looked down at her hands that were now covered in blood. What have I done? I killed a father of a daughter. I’m a murderer. That little girl won’t ever see her father ever again and it’s because of me. She got up and wiped her tears away. She then turned to face the others. “Guys, keep attacking, but try not to kill anyone. They have friends and family just like us.”
They all nodded.
Sharon’s hands turned into fists. “I have to fight.” She rushed into the battle punching and kicking the soldiers.
Anna went over to Sharon’s backpack and grabbed out a sword. “I’ll join, too.” She charged into battle trying not to kill anyone.
Izumi sighed. “I want to do something, too.” She then remembered she was a half demon. She looked down at her hands. “I can help. I’ll help Mommy and Daddy.” She did what Sesshomaru was doing only using her small claws.
Nina spotted Inuyasha up ahead still going towards Naraku. She jumped on top of the roof and began running towards Inuyasha. There’s no way he’s fighting Naraku all on his own. I won’t allow it. He’ll get himself killed. She then heard what sounded like elephants stampeding behind her. She turned around to see a bunch of elephants doing just that. A look of terror reached her face. “Kagome, Izumi, Kai, Sakura, Miroku, Sango, Koga, Sesshomaru, Shippo, Sharon, Anna, Lady Kaede, run for it!”
They all looked up at her puzzled and saw her pointing behind them. They turned around and realized what she was talking about. Kagome quickly picked up Izumi. Sango and Miroku grabbed their children and got onto Kirara. They then all began running away from the back and tried dodging all the attacks that were coming from up front.
We’re not going to make it, Nina thought. They’ll be surrounded from the ones up front and the ones in the back. Looks like I have no choice, but to kill the ones in the back. She started charging at the soldiers in the back.
Inuyasha looked behind him to see the soldiers on elephants coming in from the back. He then saw Kagome and the others trying to get away from them as well as the ones up front. He saw Nina heading towards the back with her claws out again ready to attack. Inuyasha then looked up front. “Damn!” He slashed at a soldier who was riding a horse. He then jumped onto a roof and saw that he was getting closer to Naraku. “Heh, heh, soon I’ll have you, Naraku. Then I’ll send you to hell.”
Naraku started laughing evilly. He then spotted Inuyasha coming closer. “So, Inuyasha, you wish to play? Very well. This’ll be your last fight.” He then saw Nina finally arriving at the spot where the soldiers on elephants were. She was knocking out the riders and leading the elephants out of the village. “That girl is becoming a nuisance.” He signaled for one of his soldiers. “Kill that girl over there.”
The soldier nodded and started running to the back of the town.
Naraku smiled. “There. Now I won’t have to worry about her.”
Nina knocked out another guard and threw him onto a roof. She then led the elephant out of the village. She did this repeatedly with the other elephants and their riders.
Inuyasha looked behind his shoulder to see Nina was doing amazingly well of getting rid of the elephants and soldiers. He smiled. And here I was telling her not to fight. I never thought she’d be such a big help. He then looked towards Naraku again. Almost there.
Nina finally got to the last soldier and his elephant. She was about to knock out the guard when she felt a sharp pain in her shoulder. She looked to her shoulder to see an arrow in it. She pulled it out wincing in pain as she did so. She then looked towards the one who had hit her with the arrow. It was the guard Naraku had sent after her. He was aiming another arrow. Nina was about to jump down and knock out that guard, but she felt another sharp pain. It was in her stomach this time. She looked down at her stomach to see the sharp end of a sword. She looked behind her shoulder to see the guard she was about to knock out with his sword in her back. He pulled out his sword smiling.
“What’s a matter, sweetie?” the guard asked. “Didn’t Daddy teach you to never turn your back on an enemy?”
Nina glared at the soldier and was about to attack him when she felt an arrow go though her leg. She fell to her knees. She then looked towards the arrow to see it had hit her just a little above the knee. She pulled it out and got up so she could watch both soldiers. How am I suppose to get rid of both of them at the same time?
She saw the guard on the ground aiming another arrow. The other guard was getting ready to cut her again. Nina then realized what she would have to do. It might kill one of them, but it seems I don’t have a choice. I did it to save my friends and all the innocent people out there.
The guard shot the arrow while the other went in for the kill.
Nina closed her eyes. “One, two, three!” She jumped up in the air.
The arrow hit the guard with the sword.
Nina opened her eyes to see the other guard aiming another arrow. She smiled. Not this time. She was just above the guard when he released the arrow. Nina put her hand out in front of her. Pink light came out of it and surrounded the arrow.
The guard watched in fear. The arrow dropped to the ground.
Nina gracefully landed on the ground right in front of the soldier. “You shouldn’t hit girls. Especially those who are younger than you.” She hit the guard on the side of the head knocking him out. She sighed and looked towards Kagome and the others who hadn’t noticed the back was clear. She frowned. “Kagome, Izumi, Sango, Miroku, Kai, Sakura, Koga, Shippo, Sesshomaru, Sharon, Anna, Lady Kaede, over here!”
Kagome and the others spotted her. They then saw that the back was clear. They began running to the back ushering the villagers to follow.
Naraku looked around and noticed Nina had gotten rid of the soldiers in the back and had knocked out the one he had sent after her. He growled. That’s it! Never send a human to do your dirty work. “Call forth the demons and Saimyosho!”
The guards nodded.
I will not lose this battle. Especially to a girl like her, Naraku thought.
Inuyasha was closing in on Naraku when he saw several demons come into the village. “Damn it! Doesn’t that baboon know when he’s lost?!”
Nina went over to her backpack and grabbed out her first aid kit. “Okay. Who’s hurt?”
Kagome and the others frowned.
“Nina, now is not the time-“
“I know,” Nina said not letting Miroku finish. “But Inuyasha told me not to-“ She gasped as soon as she saw the demons and Saimyosho. “Guys, get out of here. Now!”
They all looked at her confused. They then spotted the demons and Saimyosho.
“Damn,” Miroku said.
Kagome and the others began running out of the village.
Nina stayed back to fight the demons and Saimyosho. She watched as they drew closer.
Inuyasha jumped onto the carriage Naraku was in. Naraku unsheathed his sword. The sword looked just like Inuyasha’s except the blade was red and the hair at the bottom was black.
“What the… Who designed your sword?” Inuyasha asked.
“That is for me to know and you to never find OUT!” Naraku slashed at Inuyasha.
Inuyasha jumped back. “So, the ‘mighty’ Naraku needs a sword to fight the so-called ‘wimpy’ Inuyasha. How low will you go?”
“Heh. That is quite funny seeing as you have nothing to fight with. Did Sesshomaru ‘accidentally’ break your sword?” Naraku said.
“Shut up!” Inuyasha cried using his claws of blood.
Naraku dodged it. “I suggest you follow your own advice.”
“You’re going to pay for hurting Kagome and killing Kikyo,” Inuyasha said.
“Will I now?” Naraku asked.
He charged after Inuyasha. Inuyasha stood his ground.
Nina charged after the demons and Saimyosho and used her claws. After she killed most of them, she took her backpack off and grabbed out her bow and quiver. She then began using her purifying arrows on the demons and Saimyosho.
Kagome and the others had retreated to the forest with the villagers following them closely.
“Are you sure we should’ve left Nina and Inuyasha behind?” Kagome asked.
Miroku sighed. “She said we had to leave, didn’t she? I’m sure she said it with good reason. I suggest we listen to her.”
The others let out a sigh.
“Whatever you say,” Shippo said.
Kagome got up. “I’m going back.”
“Lady Kagome, I don’t think that is a wise idea,” Miroku said.
She glared at him. “I’m not leaving Inuyasha alone in there or Nina. Especially those two. Nina has the Shikon no Tama in her possession and Inuyasha is the one that I love and I won’t let him fight without me.” She then looked towards Kaede and expression softened. “Can you watch Izumi for me?”
“Of course,” Kaede said.
Sango got up. “I’m going with you. Besides, we’re friends and friends help each other out, right?”
Kagome smiled. “Yeah.”
“Well, then I suppose I’m going, too,” Miroku said. “I can’t have my wife going in there without any protection, now can I?”
Sango smiled.
Miroku turned to face Kaede. “Could you please watch over our children as well, Lady Kaede?”
Kaede nodded.
“I’m going, too,” Koga said getting up. “I can not leave my woman in there left defenseless.” He then saw that everyone was sighing. “Oh, and, um, I guess I can’t let Inuyasha have all the fun, can I?”
Everyone sweat dropped.
Shippo got up. “Well, who needs the Shikon Jewel anyway?”
Everyone looked at him surprised (except Sesshomaru.)
Shippo saw their expressions. “What? Okay. Look. Shikon no Tama means Jewel of Four Souls, right?”
Everyone nodded.
“Well, the four souls are courage, friendship, wisdom, and love, right?” Everyone nodded again.
“If that is so, then we might as well be the jewel its self.”
Everyone looked at him like he was out of his mind.
Shippo sighed.
“Look, all of us have faced our fears giving us courage. We all fight for our friends giving us friendship. We all have some sort of knowledge of a variety of things giving us wisdom. And we all have someone we love like family which, of course, give us love.”
Everyone nodded.
“So, we are, in fact, the jewel. However, we are only its good side. There are very few who can have all of those. But those who do and aren’t on the good side are obviously on the bad side of the jewel. Those who don’t have all of the four souls within them are lost. Now do you get it?” Everyone nodded again.
Miroku smiled and went over to Shippo and ruffled his hair. “Who would’ve known that someone younger than us would know this much.”
Shippo smiled.
Sesshomaru sighed and got up. “Well, I guess I might as well go.”
“We’ll stay here and watch the children,” Anna said.
“You can stay,” Sharon said. “I’m going.”
“No, you’re not,” Anna said.
Sharon groaned. “Why not?”
“Because we might get in the way, okay,” Anna said.
Sharon groaned again.
Kagome, Sango, Miroku, Shippo, Koga, and Sesshomaru ran into the flaming village. Kaede, Sharon, Anna, Kai, Sakura, Izumi, and Kirara watched as they left.
Nina was about to grab out another arrow when she found she had no more. Nina groaned and took her bow and quiver and put them back in her backpack. After she put her backpack back on, she started using her claws on the demons and Saimyosho again.
Inuyasha jumped over Naraku and used his claws of blood. Naraku turned around and blocked the attack with his sword. Inuyasha growled and charged after Naraku. Naraku charged after him.
Sango threw her boomerang at the demons and Saimyosho. After it returned to her, she turned to face Kagome. “Inuyasha’s up ahead. Are you going over there?”
Kagome nodded. “I want to get my own revenge on Naraku anyway.”
Sango nodded, turned back towards the demons and Saimyosho, and threw her boomerang again.
Miroku attacked the Saimyosho with his staff. Sesshomaru unsheathed Toukijin again and attacked the demons. Koga punched and kicked them. Shippo borrowed Koga’s sword and used it against the enemies as well.
Kagome shot an arrow. A demon spat out green slime at her. She hadn’t seen this coming and got hit in the stomach. Kagome quickly realized it was acid and looked towards the others for help.
Sango came to her aid. “Miroku, give her that purple cloth you wear,” Sango said.
Miroku looked towards the two and nodded. He then took it off and gave it to them.
Sango took it and looked back towards Kagome. “You’ll have to take off your shirt and put this on or else that acid will go straight through your shirt and begin to eat you up.”
Kagome nodded and did as she was told. As soon as she was done changing, she began going back towards Inuyasha.
“I still say we should’ve joined them,” Sharon said.
Anna frowned. “I already told you, we’re not going to fight.”
“I want to fight, too,” Kai said.
“Me, too,” Sakura said.
“I want to help Mommy and Daddy,” Izumi said.
Kaede looked towards them. “You may help them…”
The three kids’ eyes lit up.
“… When you are fully grown and your parents allow you to,” Kaede finished.
The kids groaned.
Nina sighed. “Forget it. I’m not wasting my time on you guys. Inuyasha could be dead for all I know.” She looked towards Inuyasha to see him jump over Naraku again. Naraku threw his sword up at him hitting him in his leg. Inuyasha fell to his knees. Naraku went over to him and held his sword over Inuyasha’s head.
“Now, you will die,” Naraku said. He lifted his sword up ready to strike. He then swung his sword.
“Inuyasha!” Nina cried. She looked away to see Kagome near her and to see she had also seen the battle between the two. She was near to tears.
“Inuyasha…” Kagome said softly. A smile then formed on her face.
Nina looked at her puzzled and looked back at the battle between Naraku and Inuyasha.
Inuyasha was holding Naraku’s sword back. He then kneed Naraku in the stomach. Afterwards, he cut off Naraku’s hand, threw the hand down, and turned Naraku’s sword so that it faced Naraku.
“So, now who’s going to die?” Inuyasha asked.
Naraku glared at him. “We will meet again.” A swirl of miasma surrounded him. After it was gone, he, the demons, and Saimyosho were gone.
Kagome and the others including Sharon, Anna, Kaede, the kids, and Nina ran over to Inuyasha.
Kagome ran into Inuyasha’s arms crying.
Inuyasha looked at her surprised and hugged her. “Kagome, why are you crying?”
“I’m crying because I’m so happy that you’re all right,” Kagome said.
Inuyasha looked down at her. “Of course I’m all right. No one can defeat me. Not even Naraku.” He then smirked and looked towards Sesshomaru. “Or even my own brother.”
Kagome looked at him angrily. “You are so ARROGANT! Here I am being worried sick about you and you go and be all-all-all super macho on me!”
“She’s right, you know,” Nina said.
Inuyasha sighed and looked down at Kagome again. “Well, I’m okay, aren’t I?”
Kagome sighed. “I guess you’re right.”
“Inuyasha, will you be keeping that sword?” Miroku asked spotting Naraku’s sword in his hand.
Inuyasha threw it to the ground. “Nah. I like my sword better. Guess we had better go and find Totosai so he can repair it.”
“Indeed,” Miroku said.
“After we help the villagers repair the village, of course,” Kagome said.
“What?! But what about my sword?!” Inuyasha demanded.
“Your sword can wait,” Kagome said.
“No, it can’t!” Inuyasha said.
“Yes, it can!” Kagome said.
“Can’t!”
“Can!”
“Can’t!”
“Can!”
“You’d think that now that they were finally together and full grown adults they’d stop arguing,” Shippo said.
Miroku nodded. “Indeed.”
“Of course, this is their way for making up
for lost time,” Nina said.
Sango smiled and nodded.
