Powered by the angel's arrows of Light and Hope, Agumon and Gabumon warp digivolve. Now WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon can take on VemonMyotismon. Tai, Matt, Izzy, Kari, and TK watch the fight from the van, as Matt's dad tries to get them closer. But when a piece of a building falls onto the road, the van swerves and flips over, and everyone has to evacuate.
Meanwhile Joe, Mimi, and Sora watch the fight from afar. Jim comes out of the convention center to report that all the adults are still under VemonMyotismon's spell. The group decides to go in and fight after Gomamon convinces Joe to "never give up."
Tai, Matt, Kari, and TK search for each other in the dust and rubble of the fight while the parents--who aren't asleep under the spell--look on.
When Tentomon sees that the other Digimon have digivolved to their Champion levels, he rushes in, too, as Kabuterimon. WarGreymon instructs the Digimon to attack at once. VemonMyotismon tells them they've "woken the beast within," which pops out of his stomach. The Digimon are effortlessly blown away.
Now in a seemingly hopeless situation, the Digidestined each brood over their regrets. Matt "let everyone down again," Mimi can't believe they'll be defeated, Sora wishes she could've done more to help, Joe considers surrender, etc. Tai, ever the optimist, refuses to give up. His crest, as well as all the other kids', begins to glow. Giant bands of color emit from the crests and reach up to bind VemonMyotismon. As the beast on VenomMyotismon's stomach yells and curses the Digidestined, Tai realizes they've got to hit it with their strength.
MetalGarurumon throws WarGreymon the giant sphere-structure from the TV station, and WarGreymon kicks it into his stomach. The two Megas attack, and VenomMyotismon is defeated for good. The adults wake up from the sleeping spell. The Digidestined are introduced to Salamon, Gatomon's rookie form. Their victory celebration is cut short when an entire world appears floating up-side down in the sky.
What is this new place? Gee, I wonder. The new continent doesn't show up on radar and can't be confirmed by anyone. A news update announces that the continent has appeared all over the world and is very dangerous. TK's mom finds him, reuniting the family for the first time since the divorce.
Izzy recognizes Infinity Mountain in the world above, but just as he's about to tell Tai, a jet hits the continent and looses control. Birdramon digivolves to Garudamon to save the airplane, while Kabuterimon takes on Kuwagamon, who's mysteriously appeared from the sky. Kabuterimon's electro-shocker goes straight through the Digimon, though. Izzy announces that the world above is the Digital World. Since time flows much faster in the Digiworld, the bad condition of the world has had years and years to get worse. The Digidestined decide to go back and fix the problems. They hold out their digivices and a rainbow light appears leading towards the world in the sky. They kids say their goodbyes as they float up towards the Digital World.
