In the last episode, the seven kids and their digimon had left the beach to go explore the island they're on. They're looking out at sea when two triceratops type digimon burst out of nowhere. They hide behind a rock as the two digimon fight each other. Tentomon says they are Monochromon, and they're only fighting over territory. Palmon: "They can just have it then." They run off into the forest and the two Monochrmon topple off the cliff. As the sun starts going down, they head deeper through the woods where a bunch of street signs are posted everywhere. They stop as Mimi starts complaining about her feet hurting. Tentomon scouts up high and sees a lake. They all head for it and notice a trolley bus nearby. They decide to camp inside the bus for the evening.
Everyone gathers fish and the digimon forage. Agumon lights a campfire. Everyone's eating fish until they're stuffed and sleepy. Since it's dark, Joe looks up at the sky a says he can't see the North Star. Tai says if they can't see it, then they must be on the other side of the world. Izzy brings up that they should probably takes turns watching guard. Matt and Tai get in an argument over who should stand guard when Joe says Tai goes first, then Matt, then Izzy and he'll finish up. While everyone gets comfy and starts falling asleep, Matt tells Gabumon to keep T.K. warm. Outside, Tai is starting to fall asleep and Agumon tells him to stay awake. Matt comes out and goes to the opposite shore and plays his harmonica.
Gabumon comes out by Matt and listens to him play while Tai mumbles to himself. A spark pops out of the fire and lands on a red fin that's embedded in the rock. A green sea dragon with a yellow head pops out of the water and roars. (I would too if an ember burnt me..) It turns out the red fin was it's tail! Tentomon says it's Seadramon. The dragon tries to escape but it's tale is caught on the rocks and drags the piece of land with it. Finally, Seadramon's tail is free but it smacks the land mass. Matt jumps in and swims after them. The digimon try attacking but none of their attacks work. Agumon doesn't have enough energy to digivolve either.
Another tail whack later, T.K. falls into the water. Matt rushes over, but Gomamon is there to save the young boy. Tentomon warns them to get out of the water as Matt tries to create a diversion. Gabumon hits Seadramon with a Blue Blaster and Seadramon flings him out of the water with his tail. Seadramon yanks Matt underwater and brings him back up, wrapping his tail around the boy and squeezing. (Does any of this look familiar?) Matt is in trouble and his digivice glows. Gabumon digivolves into a giant blue and white stripped wolf, Garurumon. Garurumon lunges onto Seadramon's back and Matt escapes and swims to shore. Garurumon and Seadramon fight until Seadramon seals him under a blast of ice. Garurumon breaks through it and issues a jet of blue energy. Garurumon: "Howling Blaster!" Seadramon is defeated and falls into the water, smoke coming from his mouth.
Garurumon turns back into Gabumon. It's daylight once again as everyone celebrates. Gomamon uses "fish power" to move them back to shore. Once on solid ground, Izzy notices that only Gabumon could digivolve this time. Tai remembers how when he was in trouble Agumon saved him as Greymon. They figure that digimon only digivolve when their partner is in trouble. Everyone falls asleep for a quick nap as Matt plays the harmonica. After a long night of work, they deserve a break.
