I am a fan of the show Digimon.   I do not own any of the characters or concept ideas.   I put action, adventure, and comedy into my stories.   It’s kind of based on the shows.

Chapter 6: Rocky Start

Mimi: At the end Warp Tunnels, we met up with a few new friends.   One had no fashion sense.   At the main room we met with a man named Rage.   He told us much.   But it just gave me a headache.   He gave us a choice.   Become Digimon Tamers or lose our friends.   That was a no brainier.   With that we become Tamers and now we’re in a big video game.   I must say.   I hope I still look good through out this.

At the Sovereigns’ lair, the four were waiting for the Tamers to appear.   Azulongmon watched the east side.   Baihumon watched the west side.   Ebonwumon watched the south side.   Zhuqiaomon watched the north side.   None of them knew were the Tamers and Digimon were.   It was driving them madder then they once were.

“They may have stayed in Spire Zone.” Azulongmon said.
“I doubt it,” Baihumon said.  “Master says that started the game.”
“The Digidestined are out of luck.” Ebonwumon 1 said.

“I hope it is bad luck.” Ebonwumon 2 said.
“They were no longer Digidestined.  They are now Digimon Tamers.” Zhuqiaomon said.
“They are worst than I predicted.” Baihumon said.
“They are not the only problem,” Azulongmon said.  “We also have the Digignomes to worry about.”
“Those wild beasts?” Zhuqiaomon said. “They’re a plague both worlds.  Maybe the humans will destroy them.”
“Or vice versa.” Baihumon said.
“Both will be the best.” Ebonwumon said.
“I think I found them,” Azulongmon said.  “They entered a Rock Field.”
“Good,” Zhuqiaomon said. “They’ll see first claw how tough us Digimon really are.”

At the Rock Field the Warp Tunnel opened.  The Tamers and Digimon exited.  At first look the Tamers and Digimon saw they were in a rocky zone.  Most of the rocks formed odd shapes.  Some looked like they hid tunnels.  The Tamers and Digimon felt odd in this place.  To them it wasn’t normal.  They were lost and confused.
“Now what?” Guilmon said.
“I have no idea.” Rika said hopelessly.
“Well if this is a giant video game…” Takato said.
“RPG I think.” Henry interrupted.
Takato made a very small glare at Henry.
“Than we should look around…” Takato said.
“Or Rage will tell us what to do.” Davis interrupted.
Takato was getting mad now.  He hated being interrupted.  Kari saw how cute Takato looked mad.  This was getting them nowhere.  Maybe Davis was right.  I played games like Alice to know that a riddle will help both the characters and the players.  I appeared in front of the group as the Cheshire cat from that game.  The Tamers and Digimon were confused from my looks and my voice.
“You seek the end,” I said. “But it’s closer than you think.  In a whole you’ll fail.  But pieces will always find peace.”
I faded out of sigh.  Renamon was now mad.
“He took my disappearing move.” Renamon said.
“So?” Rika said.  “He’s allowed.”
“All I wonder is what he meant?” Sora said.
“I think we should split up,” Mimi said. “It’ll be easier to find the end.”
“But the end is closer then we think,” Izzy repeated. “But where do we go?”
Everyone looked at each other.  Cody looked in a different direction.  He walked a little away.  Looking down he saw something that got his eyes.
“Hey look at this.” Cody said.
“What is it Codymon?” Guilmon said.
“It’s a road.” Cody said.
Everyone walked over and looked down.  They saw the road go in three directions.
“What do we do?” Armadillomon asked.
“We go in three ways,” Veemon said.  “Hopefully we’ll meet up with someone.”
“Is this how a video game goes?” Rika asked.
“More or less.” Davis said.
“Just how do we split up?” Hawkmon asked.
“Not as we came,” Kari said.  “We need new groups.”
“Who with who?” Matt said.
“Me and Agumon will go with Sora and Biyomon.” Tai jumped to the opportunity.
Sora was a little worried.  They haven’t been together in a long time.
“Okay.  Me and Yolei will go with you two too.” Hawkmon said.
Now Biyomon was a little worried.  Hawkmon was like Tai.  Strong headed and bold.
“Me and Tentomon will go too,” Izzy said.  “Just in case you’ll need my info.”
“I guess me and Henry will go for fun.” Terriermon said happily.
“Can I choose who’ll go with me?” Guilmon asked.
“Sure.  Why not?” Takato said.  ‘Beside the obvious.’ Takato added in thought.
“I decided to pick…” Guilmon said. “Joemon, Karimon, Mattmon, and Davismon.  Oh with Gomamon, Gatomon, Gabumon, and Veemon.”
“Almost all G Digimon.” Gomamon said.
“Why are you calling the humans like Digimon?” Veemon asked.
“I call everyone I like with –Mon.” Guilmon said.
“I guess the rest will go with me and Renamon.” Rika said.
“If you say so.” Renamon said.
“My group will go to north.” Tai said.
“We’ll go to the south.” Kari said.
“We’ll go to the east.” Rika said.
With that the group split up.

After a few minutes of walking the three groups lost sight of each other because they found canyons.  Henry’s group entered a winding chasm.  The sun was already nearing the nighttime hours.  But the Tamers and Digimon didn’t care.  To them it was just another part of the game.  But they were wrong.  The tunnel ended at an open field.  The Tamers saw all the rocks and boulders placed here and there.  It was as boring as they come.  I guess this was the best time to appear again.
“This is too calm.” Agumon said.
I appeared in front of them as the Cheshire cat again.  I’ll always appear as the Cheshire cat from the game Alice.
“Calmness is an illusion that will always tricks the senses,” I said.  “Look beyond the real.  Beware of hidden danger.  Prepare for battle, in the eye of the storm.”
I disappeared as the Tamers and Digimon sensed what I meant.  From below started to pop up little metal worms.
“Gross.  Worms.” Sora said.
“I’ll tell Wormmon you said that.” Biyomon said.
“Don’t get me wrong,” Sora protected.  “Wormmon is cute.  These worms are very ugly.”
“I don’ think they’re real worms.” Hawkmon said.
“I agree,” Yolei said.  “Real worms are pink.  These are silver.”
“Maybe they’re Fresh Level Digimon.” Agumon said.
But before anyone could scan them, the worms went underground.  The Tamers and Digimon didn’t understand or see what was happening.  On the surface the group was waiting calmly.  But underneath was an evil change was happening.  The little worms were mutating.  As they did they started for the surface.  At the surface the Tamers and Digimon were about to leave.  As they started to walk away, the ground started to rumble.  From the ground came glowing creatures.  Everyone was confused as they saw them.  The Tamers and Digimon thought they were cute.
“What are they?” Sora asked.
“I think they’re the worms.” Tentomon said.
“They must be Digignomes.” Izzy said.
“I call them weird.” Terriermon said.
Henry pointed his D-Power at them.
“Digignomes,” Henry read.  “Stage 2: In-Training level.  They have data of all Digimon.  They look cute but are real hateful of others.”
The first Digignome attacked Tai.  Agumon saw it and protected Tai.
“Pepper Breath.”
Agumon hit the Digignome with great force.  The Digignome started to spark and delete.  Agumon focused on it and uploaded its data.
“You did you do that?” Yolei said.
“I was protecting Tai.” Agumon said.
“I think Agumon had the right idea.” Tai said.
The other Digignomes attacked the Digimon.  There were twenty Digignome and only five Digimon.  Four Digignomes attack a Digimon each.  The Digimon had to attack.
“Pepper Breath.”
Agumon fired four fireballs then uploaded his enemies’ data.
“Hawk Beam.”
Hawkmon fired a beam hitting the four Digignomes then did the same.
“Spiral Twister.”
Biyomon fired a green beam at the Digignomes then uploaded their data.
“Super Shocker.”
Tentomon fired his electricity at the Digignomes then uploaded their data.  The four Digignomes surrounded Terriermon.  With their claws out they attacked Terriermon.  That played in Terriermon’s favor.
“Terrier Tornado.”
Terriermon spun creating a green tornado.  The four Digignomes were sent into the air and crashed into each other.  As they fell, they deleted.  Terriermon uploaded their data with a smile.
“That was too easy.” Terriermon said.
“It was only the first Field.” Henry said.
“I wonder how the others were doing.” Tentomon asked.
At this moment Takato’s group was in an open field.  They haven’t seen everyone more minutes.  There were a lot of rocks and holes but not Digimon or people.  They started to think it was leading to nowhere.  Guilmon was the only one happy.  And even that was starting to fade.  Guilmon looked at Veemon from time to time.  Takato did the same to Kari.  Guilmon thought Veemon sounded and somewhat acted like a Digimon from his world.  Takato felt the same about Kari sounding like a woman from his world.  Takato wanted to tell her.  But he was to shy and cautious to tell her the truth.  Guilmon wasn’t as cautious.  He wanted to ask questions to Veemon, but needed a good time to ask.  A few minutes later they met up with a person.  The oddest thing was I said there were no humans outside Spire Zone.  I never lie.  Guilmon walked closer to the human.
“Who are you?” Guilmon asked.  “Are you human?”
“I am a rare human,” the man said.  “I fear you not.  I live here in misery.  I lived through the storm.  Only to see nothing to hope for.”
“I thought no human lived outside Spire Zone.” Davis said.
“Too true,” the man said.  “Humans live in Spire Zone.  But only if they had digivices.  Without them, life is destroyed.”
“How do you survive?” Kari asked.
“I survive off what I can find in this waste land,” the man said.  “But I can only tell you this.  Seek the man in the next Field.  He is wiser then me.  He will tell you more then myself.”
The Tamers and Digimon started on their way.  The Tamers were confused.  The Digimon were more confused.  What the man said made little to no sense.  Takato seemed worried and had to tell Kari.
“I need to tell Kari something.” Takato said.
“Okay,” Davis said.  “You want us to go ahead?”
“Please.  I think Takato wants to tell me something private.” Kari said.
She was right and wrong.  As the other started walking away, Guilmon looked back at Takato.  After they walked out of sigh, Kari turned to Takato.
“You wanted to tell me something.” Kari said.
“Uh, yes,” Takato said.  “I don’t want to hurt your feelings.  So I’ll tell you the truth.”
“I know it’ll be okay,” Kari said.  “I know you’ll make the right choice before we start.”
‘Oh boy,’ Takato thought.  “You remind me of someone that I knew.  Someone I think is gone.”
“Was it your… girlfriend?” Kari asked.
Takato saw the sorrow in her eyes.  He didn’t know if he should tell her the truth.  Takato wanted to make Kari happy.  But his answer may be the biggest turnoff he can say.  Kari was waiting for an answer but Takato didn’t have a good one.  With a deep breath he decided on his answer.
“You remind me of…” Takato said.  “My teacher.”
Kari was surprised.  But I knew he wasn’t lying.  Kari moved in closely to Takato.
“I guess she was your favorite,” Kari said.  “But now she’s gone.”
Takato nodded.  Takato looked at Kari.  She remained him of his teacher: Miss Asaji.  Takato looked at Kari and saw more things in command with his teacher.  They both had brown hair and brown eyes.  You could say that Kari is a younger vision of Miss Asaji.  Takato knew Kari was going to become a teacher.  But he also knew that telling her that will do more damage then the Sovereigns ever had.  After a minute or so they got up and continued to the others.
Meanwhile the third party was nearing their prime goal.  But first they found a human.  A teenage girl.  She was dressed in an odd style.  She was wearing a shirt, shorts with spenders and sneakers.  She had green eyes and red hair.  Her hair was in a side ponytail.  Everyone was shocked and surprised to she her.  Rika walked up to her a little confused.
“Hey you,” Rika said.
The girl looked.
“Aren’t you Misty from Pokémon?” Rika asked.
The girl laughed.
“No,” the girl said.  “My name is Order.  I’m part of the game.”
“Weird name.” Renamon said.
“You Digimon invented weird names.” Order said.
“What are you doing here?” Ken said.
“Waiting for the ones to save the worlds,” Order said.  “Tell me.  Are you the ones?”
“I think so.” Cody said.
“Good.  Good,” Order said.  “But I see you need some help.  And I just have a rare card.”
“But before you hand us the card,” Mimi said.  “Tell us.  Why do you look like a cartoon character?”
“Look who’s talking?” Rika mumbled under her breath.
“It’s all in the rules.” Order said.
“What rules?” Palmon said.
“The rules Rage and his rival made,” Order said.  “I am on Rage’s side for a reason.”
“That reason is?” T.K. asked.
“Rage is father,” Order said.
Everyone was surprised and confused.
“There are seven of us that will help you all.  One way or another.” Order said.
“Will they all look like fictional characters?” Ken asked.
“It’s a rule.” Order said.
“I think she’s cute.” T.K. said.
“Thanks,” Order said.  “But I have something useful.”
“What?” Rika asked.
“You need cards,” Order said.  “I have a rare card.”
“You’ll give us the card of free?” Mimi asked joyfully.
Order shook her head.
“Sorry.  You’ll have to earn the cards me and my friends have,” Order said.  “By deleting the Digimon in the field.”
The Tamers and Digimon except for Rika and Renamon were shocked.
“Great.  First Rage tells us to delete Digimon.  Now a Misty look-alike tells us to do the same.” Palmon said.
“Did he tell you why?” Order said.
Everyone looked at each other.
“Not really.” Wormmon said.
“I will,” Order said.  “The Digimon you delete are used by my father’s rival.  Deleting them will free them.  Plus make this media more interesting.”
“They’re just following orders? Ah, no offense.” Rika said.
“They are puppets.  You’re just cutting the strings.” Order said.
“Not a good reason.” Palmon said.
“How about this,” Order said.  “Digimon killed billions of humans on this planet alone.  If they aren’t stopped they’ll find the way to my home planet.  And completely destroy it.”
The Tamers and Digimon started to felt sorry for Order.  She was telling the truth.  Then again, none of my friends lie.  Order turned slightly away.
“If my home world is gone,” Order said.  “Freedom will die.  Forever.”
Everyone was speechless.  Mimi put her hand on Order’s shoulder.
“Don’t worry,” Mimi said.  “We wouldn’t let that happen.”
Order’s mood lightened.
“Thanks.” Order said.
“So where’s the Digimon?” Palmon asked.
“Down the path.  A short run from here,” Order said.  “You’ll have an easy fight.  This is the first Field.”
Everyone thanked Order and went on their way.  It was a short walk.  They passed a few odd rocks and holes.  In some of the holes hid a human or two.  The Tamers tried to talk to them.  But the sight of the Digimon droved them into the holes.  The Tamers and Digimon were sad to see humans act like wild animals.  But it also made them more determined.  As they walked the Tamers looked at their cards.  Some looked useful.  Others looked useless.  It’s all depends on the battle.  They sorted the cards by Digimon level and type.  It was a somewhat okay walk.  But it will end soon.

At a cave the Tamers stopped.  They looked into the cave and saw nothing.  It was dark, gloomy and cold.  So it my rival, only my rival is far worst.  The group started forward but Mimi refused to move.
“Mimi, what the heck are you waiting for?” Rika said.
“I’m not going in,” Mimi said. “I might ruin my skirt.”
“I’ll ruin your skirt alright.” Rika said stomping her way to Mimi.
Mimi was scared but stood still.  Renamon stood in the middle to stop Rika.
“Now is not the time,” Renamon said. “We have a mission.”
“I have a question.” Palmon said.  “If the Digimon is here.  Then where is he?”
That was the most obvious cue that I ever saw.  The ground started to rumble.  The Tamers and Digimon saw pebbles bounce on the ground.  From the cave exited a big Digimon.  He was made of rock and looked mean.  He wore a mask and rope.  He had smokestacks on his back, a mask and ropes on him.
“Who are you?” the Digimon said.  “What are humans doing here?”
“The question is who are you?” Wormmon said.
Ken took out his D-Power as Wormmon at the Digimon.
“Golemon: Champion Level-Rock Digimon,” Ken said. “He is a powerful Digimon who uses his Crimson Curse and Rock Punch attacks to defend his caves.”
“I ask again,” Golemon said. “Who are you? What are humans doing here?”
“Please excuse us,” Wormmon said. “We’re looking for a rare card.”
“My Blue Card?” Golemon asked laughing. “You’re the Tamers?”
“Well… yeah.” Patamon said.
“Please we don’t want to fight you.” T.K. said.
Golemon laughed harder.
“You made good joke,” Golemon said.  “You no get my card.  Not unless you fight and win.”
“There has to be another way.” Palmon said.
“No other way,” Golemon said.  “You fight.  You win.  Or you delete.”
The Tamers weren’t afraid of Golemon.  He was big but dumb.  They knew they could take him.  But this time he wasn’t a Control Spire Digimon.  The fight started with Golemon charging.
“Rock Punch.”
Golem threw a punch but missed them all.
“Boom Bubble.”
Patamon inflated then fired an air bubble.
“Sticky Net.”
Wormmon fired a net at Golemon.
“Diamond Storm.”
Renamon fired her cloud of diamonds at Golemon.
“Diamond Slamming Attack.”
Armadillomon clawed at Golemon wildly.
“Poison Ivy.”
Palmon fired her vines to whip Golemon.
After all that, Golemon had little damage.  He laughed happily.  He didn’t turn to face them.  Instead he attacked.
“Crimson Curse.” Golemon attacked.
He fired his red fog at the Digimon.  The fog hit them all making them faint.  Wormmon and Armadillomon took the least damage.  Wormmon was weak but Armadillomon was weaker.  Wormmon was ready to fight.  Armadillomon was almost out cold.
“Patamon!” T.K. yelled.
“Armadillomon!” Cody yelled.
“You Tamers are no treat,” Golemon said.  “You are bad as gum on foot.  Please do better or deleting you won’t be fun.”
Everyone was now mad.  But Ken and Wormmon were the maddest.  Ken took out a card.  He knew it was useful.  Copying Takato’s swiping form.
“Digimodify… Digivolution Activate.” Ken said swiping the card.

DIGIVOLUTION

Ken’s Black D-Power sent a blast of energy to activate the Digivolution.
“Wormmon digivolve to…” His outer data was shaded to reveal a black grid map.  A surge of energy formed around Wormmon.  New data covered Wormmon.  His wings sprouted and fluttered fast, “Stingmon.”
Everyone was surprised.  Golemon looked and saw the new Digimon.
“Hey.  What happened to little worm?” Golemon asked.
“I digivolved.” Stingmon said.

Armadillomon was aware enough to look as Cody looked at his D-Power.

“Stingmon: Champion Level-Virus Type,” Cody said. “Stingmon is aerodynamically sound.  His attack the Spiking Strike, is a sting you’ll not soon forget.”
“I think I did this before.” Stingmon said.
“Only I saw it differently.” Rika said under her breath.
“Rock Punch.”
He tried to punch Stingmon but Stingmon was too fast.  He dodged the swings and flew into the air.  The spikes on his shoulders extended and so did the spike on his arm.  Before Stingmon said the command, Ken swiped a card.
“Digimodify… Power Activate.” Ken said.
“Spiking Strike.”
Stingmon drove at Golemon and with pinpoint aim hit him.  Golemon was knocked backwards and started to delete.  Stingmon focused on Golemon and uploaded his data.  Where Golemon once was a card now floated.  Stingmon dedigivolved as Ken touched the card.  The card disappeared from view as the fallen Digimon awoken.  They recovered and shook off the dirt.
“What happened?” Palmon asked.
“Oh nothing,” Wormmon said with pride.  “I just deleted Golemon.  I’m now stronger.  And I saved your butts.”
“Don’t let victories go to your head.” Ken said.
Wormmon wanted to smile.  But he wasn’t designed for smiling.
“Now let’s get that rare card.” Cody said.
“My rare card.” Ken said leading the way.
Back at where they found Order, the rest of the group was.
“I see you’re all here,” Order said.  “I was just finishing my intro.  Who deleted Golemon?”
“I did.” Ken said.
“Good,” Order said.
She took out an Option Card and handed it to Ken.
“It’s a Defense Card,” Order said.  “You’ll need it if outnumbered and overpowered.  By the way.  I caught a Blue Card for one of you.”
“Another card for me?” Ken said happily.
“As if,” said Order.  “You got your card.  The Blue Card belongs to…”
Everyone was excited to the max.
“Tai.”
It was a let down to all but Tai and Agumon.  As Agumon and Tai smiled and cheered happily, Gabumon hid in the back.  He was hiding something.  Something only he knew.  Order headed the card but it was not blue.  It was a Crest of Courage Card.  When Tai held it, it turned blue.  That made Tai’s day.
“Okay.  Time for noise has end,” Order eh, ordered.  “You can do no more here.  Time for the next Field.  Where everything gets stronger,”
Order opened a Warp Tunnel behind her.

“Good luck and goody bye.”
Order went through the Warp Tunnel first.  The Tamers followed shortly after but they are headed to a different place.

Meanwhile at the Sovereigns’ lair, the four were both shocked and mad.
“They defeated Golemon.” Azulongmon said.
“He was useless anyway.” Baihumon said.
“Now they got a Blue Card.” Zhuqiaomon said.
“It’ll be the last they’ll get.” Ebonwumon 1 said.

“I hope so.” Ebonwumon 2 said.

“But there are 14 more Blue Cards.” Azulongmon pointed out.
“I know,” Baihumon said.  “But they are still new at this.  They won’t make it all the way.”
