I am a fan of the show Digimon.  I do not own any of the characters or concept ideas.  I put action, adventure, and comedy into my stories.  It’s kind of based on the shows.

Chapter 5: Digidestined No More

Hawkmon: As we were walking, Zhuqiaomon started to talk to the group of Digimon called the Twin Force.  They watched as we freed your friends.  Takato’s group freed Tai, Matt and their Digimon.  Rika’s group freed Mimi, Sora, and their Digimon. Henry’s group freed Joe, Izzy and their Digimon.  After the guards were deleted and own friends were free, the Warp Tunnels opened.  Next stop, you’ll see.

At the Sovereigns’ lair, all the Sovereigns were all talking to each other.

“The humans have found each other.” Zhuqiaomon said.

“They took wild Warp Tunnels,” Baihumon said. “Who knows where they are.”

“Spire Zone.” Azulongmon said.

The others looked amazed.

“I cannot believe I’m saying this,” Ebonwumon 1 said. “But Azulongmon is right.”

“We don’t know where Spire Zone is because of all the Control Spires.” Ebonwumon 2 said.

“If they are there,” Baihumon said. “They may as well live there.  We would just have killed them.”

“I just wonder,” Ebonwumon said. “Who opened the portals to Spire Zone?”

“Someone in Spire Zone.” Azulongmon said.

That was a little more obvious.

“Now, unfortunately, we now got to wait for their next move.” Baihumon said.

At a secret place on the planet, three portals opened in three different zones.  They were the three Warp Tunnel exits.  The first group to exit was Takato’s group.  The second group was Rika’s group.  The last group was Henry’s group.  The scene starts at Takato’s group.  They exited the tunnel feeling a little tingly.

“That felt… nice.” Takato said.

“I prefer peanut better.” Guilmon said.

“This is the first time I went through a Warp Tunnel.” Tai said.

“Mine too.” Matt said.

“I think it’s the first for everyone.” Agumon said.

“I kind of liked it.” T.K. said.

“I’ve got a question,” Patamon said. “Where are we?”

The group looked around.  They were in a room.  There were a lot of computers and a big circle.

“You’re in Warp Tunnel Room 3.” A new voice said.

Everyone looked for the new voice.

“That voice sounded familiar.” Takato said.

From a doorway entered the speaker.  The speaker was a young girl.  She was wearing a green suspender skirt and sneakers.  She had short brown hair with a side ponytail.  Only Takato was shocked.

“Jeri.” Takato said.

“Takato,” Jeri said. “I’m surprised that you’re live.”

“You know her?” Kari asked.

“We’re friends,” Jeri said. “Good friends.”

“Uh, Jeri, were are we?” Takato asked.

“In a secret place,” Jeri said. “A place that is good for humans,”

Takato felt a little better.

“But that’s behind us,” Jeri said. “I brought you here for a reason.”

“What reason?” Gabumon asked.

“To protect you.” Jeri said.

“From who?” Agumon asked.

Jeri smiled.

“That’s something I really can’t explain,” Jeri said. “But if you follow me.  I’ll take you to someone you can and will.”

“I guess we don’t really have a choice.” T.K. said.

“I trust her.” Takato said.

“I trust her.” Guilmon said.

“Thanks Guilmon.” Jeri said.

“You’re welcome Jerimon.” Guilmon said.

As they exited the room to the main chamber, Rika’s group exited the Warp Tunnel.

“That was fun.” Mimi said.

“I didn’t think so.” Biyomon said.

“Where are we?” Palmon asked.

Everyone looked around confused.  The room looked like the same as the other Warp Tunnel Room.

“I think we’re in a fort,” Davis said. “Like at Ken’s ex-base.”

“Actually,” a boy’s voice said. “This is Warp Tunnel Room 4.”

The group looked at the doorway for who was talking.

“That voice…” Ken said. “It so… familiar.”

The boy stepped into the light.  He was a fairly tall boy.  He was wearing the oddest thing I’ve ever seen.  He had a gray shirt, brown pants and sneakers.  But those were the normal things.  He also had a zip on overskirt; a single glove on his left hand and on his right was an armor glove.

“What we have here is a big fashion crime.” Mimi said.

The boy laughed.

“I’ve never been one for style.” The boy said.

Ken was the only one to react to his voice.

“Ryo?” Ken said.

“Ken,” Ryo said. “We meet again.”

Ken was overwhelmed with joy.

“It’s been so long.” Ken said.

“Longer then you think.” Ryo said.

“Uh, can someone fill the rest of us in?” Sora said.

“Ryo is a famous Digimon Card Game Player.” Rika said.

“How good is he?” Veemon asked.

“He is the only one better then me.” Rika said.

“I can think of one man better then us both combined.” Ryo said.

“Who?” Renamon said.

“I’ll take you all to him.” Ryo said.

As the group followed Ryo to his superior, Henry’s group exited the Warp Tunnel.

“Prodigious.” Izzy said.

“Sickening.” Joe said.

“You’re talking about the ride or the room?” Gomamon asked.

“I think both.” Tentomon said.

Everyone looked around.  The room looked like the other two rooms.  Only better.

“Henry.” A little girl said.

The voice shocked everyone.  But it shocked Henry and Terriermon the most.  Everyone looked and saw the little girl.  She was smaller then Cody.  She was wearing a pink Chinese shirt and pants with yellow sneakers.  Her short brown hair was in two mini pigtails.

“Henry.” The girl said again.

“Suzie?” Henry said.

Suzie ran to Henry to hug him.

“Oh Henry,” Suzie said. “I thought you were lost forever,”

Terriermon froze still.

“Oh Terriermon.  Quit acting.” Suzie said.

Terriermon looked at Suzie a little surprised.

“You know I’m real?” Terriermon said.

“That’s right.” Suzie said.

“You know her?” Cody said.

“I’m his little sister.” Suzie said.

“Well at least my dream didn’t come true.” Terriermon said.

“Tell me,” Joe said. “Where are we?”

“You’re in the Main Warp Tunnel Room,” Suzie said. “Only people with high access can enter.”

Everyone was confused.

“Why would a little girl have that high of clearance?” Armadillomon said.

Suzie smiled very girlishly.

“I can’t tell you…” Suzie said. “But I know who can.”

“Who can?” Henry said.

“I’ll take you to him,” Suzie said. “Follow me.”

Suzie walked off and the others followed.

As the three groups walked the hallways meet into a main hallway.  The kids and Digimon were glad to see one and other.  But there was no time to make introductions.  The three leaders were on the move.  The kids and Digimon followed them trying to keep up and not to bump into each other.  The hallway was long and lit by neon lights.  At the end of the hallway were two silver doors.  Jeri and Ryo stopped short but Suzie walked to a control panel.  She typed a code, which will remain a secret.  The doors opened quietly and quickly.  The room behind it was a big room with fancy furniture and computers.  At two of the computers were two boys.  They came from the computers to greet the group.  At first they looked surprised.  As they neared they came down.  One had a black shirt with a cross, tan pants and sneakers.  The other had an orange shirt, a tan jacket and pants, sneakers and glasses.

“Kazu.  Kenta.” Takato said.

“Good to see you.” Kazu said.

“Even if Digimon are here.” Kenta said.

“Sorry,” Jeri said. “We’re just going to see our leader.”

Kenta grunted.  The group passed and headed to the room.  The kids and Digimon looked around at the walls.  It didn’t take long to reach the end.  At the end was a man sating at a desk.  He had his arms on the desk.  He was wearing a suit and sunglasses.

“I’ve been waiting for this moment for sometime.” The man said.

“What moment?” Rika said.

“The moment that will free the worlds.” The man said.

“From what?” Cody asked. “And who are you?”

“My name is Rage.  And free this world from the hold of Digimon.”

By the way, Rage is me.

“What happened?” Armadillomon asked.

“My I?” Jeri said.

I nodded.

“It was years ago.  Digimon came to Earth,” Jeri said. “They killed every human insight.  Only kids with digivices, D-3s or D-Powers were spared.”

“After that.  The Digimon renamed the planet to Digiearth,” Kazu said. “Rage colleted us survivors into this city.”

“It’s called Spire Zone,” Kenta said. “The city is protected by control spires.”

Ken was impressed and sad at the same time.

“So, what are we suppose to do?” Ken said.

“You are here to choose one of two choices.” I said.

“What are the choices?” Kari asked.

“Choices are the following,” I said. “You can give up your digivices, D-3s and D-Powers.  The Digimon will be banished from this city and you’ll all wake up the next day as if your former lives were all a dream.”

“I hope the second choice is better.” Takato mumbled.

“The other choice is to play my game.” I said.

“I like playing games.” Guilmon said.

“Good,” I said. “But you all must choose.”

“What is this game?” Henry said.

“You’ll find out if you choose to play.” I said.

The kids looked at each other.  For a few seconds no one spoke.  They looked at the three leaders.  Then they all looked at Davis.

“I think I speak for us all,” Davis said. “We accept.”

“Thank you,” I said. “To begin, please place your digivices and D-3s on the table.”

The kids were at first reluctant.  But one by one they put the digivices and D-3s on my desk.  On a nearby keyboard I started to type in a command.  The desk started to glow.  In a few seconds the light faded and where the digivices and D-3s once were.  D-Powers took their place.

“What happened?” Guilmon said.

“Your digivices and D-3s were no longer useful,” I said. “You needed an upgrade.”

“Oh,” Terriermon said. “For the game.”

I nodded.

“What game is it?” Henry asked.

“It’s a very important game,” I said. “Me and my rival can’t fight directly.  So we made this game.”

“But what is this game?” Sora asked.

“The game is about freedom,” I said. “My rival believes no one has the right to control their own lives.  I on the other hand do.”

“That makes a lot of sense.” Wormmon said.

“Now that you heard some of the facts,” I said. “Time to show you the stage.”

I started to type on the keyboard.  As I typed the room started to change.  At started from an office to a V.R. room.  The kids and Digimon were surprised.

“So this is the V.R. room.” Ryo said.

“I’ve never been here before.” Suzie said.

“No one but Rage has.” Kenta said.

I smiled.

“Why are we here?” Mimi said.

“This is the stage,” I said. “Tell me.  Do you like video games?”

“I hate video games.” Rika said.

“Too bad,” I said. “I have some important information.”

“Like what.” Izzy said.

“You’ll be on the search for Blue Cards.” I said.

The original Tamers were surprised.

“Why do we have to find Blue Cards?” Sora said.

“The D-Powers use cards.  Like the ones under your D-Powers,” I said.

The kids picked up the D-Powers and the card packs under them.

“The Blue Cards are used to digivolve your Digimon to Ultimate.” I said.

“Prodigious.” Izzy said.

“Sounds too… easy.” Rika said.

“Too true,” I said. “The Blue Cards were in different zones.  They’re guarded by Digimon.”

“If this is a video game,” Terriermon said. “Then are there points?  Minions?  Goals?”

“All of the above and more,” I said. “The goal is to collect the Blue Cards.  The minions are called Digignomes.  They take the form of the Flied.  And you score points to make your Digimon stronger.”

“Great.  How do we get to the Fields?” Renamon said.

“Right behind you.” I said.

Everyone looked and saw one Realm light up.

“Only one Field.” Henry said.

“Realm 1,” I said. “It’s the starting point.  As you collect Blue Cards more Realms and Fields will open.”

“Cool but,” Tentomon said. “How do we score points?”

“Two ways,” I said. “One is through skill.  The better you fight, the more you score.  Second, defeat as many enemies as you can.”

“Why do we have to delete the Digimon?” Tai asked.

“I’ll keep this series interesting.” I said.

Everyone looked at each other then at me.

“What are you talking about?” Palmon asked.

“This is the last thing I’ll say for now,” I said. “You’re being watched.  I’m showing this as a show to some realities and as writing to others.”

Now everyone was a little embarrassed.

“Now since we don’t have that much longer,” I said. “Please start the game.  Our viewers and readers are waiting.”

“We’ll do our best.” Takato said trying to keep his cool.

The group started to Realm 1-Field 1.

‘Ham.’ I thought.

This is a good story.  I changed the kids from Digidestined to Tamers for a reason.  But it’s a secret.  If you have any question, comments or requests sent them to me at DarkMorphmon@aol.com
