Takuya was still in a daze the next day. He had not told anybody about the letter. He hadn’t called anybody – nothing. That night he had a dream, the three angel Digimon were hovering over three shadows figures, except for three symbols – a sun, a moon, and a star – on the forehead area, or so he thought.
“Ow!” Takuya landed smack on his bottom, his books spilling from his backpack, along with the printed version of the letter.
“Oh, I’m sorry!” a person cried and began to pick up his things.
“Uh?” Takuya said, shaking his head. “Oh, it’s okay.”
He looked up to see who had bumped him and a blush the color of a beet spread across his face. It was girl his age with pretty purple/black hair and violet/maroon eyes. She was dressed in the school uniform for Sakijuro Middle School, the one next to his. Her face looked panicked as she shuffled his things and handed them to him. He saw her pinky finger glittered with single ring in the design of a pearl lotus flower.
“I need to get going.” She turned to go, but stopped and turned back, bowing, “By the way, my name is Ansradar Auvreamitore.”
“I’m Takuya, Takuya Kanbara,” Takuya replied and watched her run off to her school, hair flowing out behind her. “Ansradar Auvreamitore.” Takuya smiled to himself and kept walking.
“Sir, excuse me, you dropped this,” a voice said softly behind Koji.
“Uh?” He turned and was meant by a paper in his face, his name written on it. “Oh, uh, thanks.”
“You’re welcome,” the voice said and Koji looked the person up a down.
It was a girl dressed in the uniform on the Sakijuro Middle School, a uniform composed of the colors, green, navy blue, and white. It did nothing for her hair, which was blonde fading into sunset red, just like a sunset. Her eyes were a golden hawk eye color, her face spread over with a light blush.
“You’re welcome Mr. Koji,” she said and bowed, hurrying on her way.
“Hey! What’s your name?” called Koji.
The girl never stopped running, “Ruaihar Baequiraheal!” Koji watched her go, a smirk spreading across his face. He loved the affect he had on women.
“Hey Koji,” Izumi called to the black haired boy as he entered the classroom. “You’re late today.”
“I dropped something on the way here,” he explained and took his seat behind Takuya.
Takuya turned to him, “Koji, know what I said yesterday about wanting to go back?”
“Yeah,” Koji said absently.
“Well, I-,” he was cut off as the teacher stepped in – Mrs. Ishumi.
“Alright class! Today we are studying gravity and its affects on the universe,” she called, ignoring the groaning sounds the students issued at the proclamation.
“I can’t wait for lunch!” Takuya hissed and sat down for his nap as the teacher droned on.
They sat in the schoolyard, draining their drinks and gobbling down their lunches. It was a nice day, the cherry blossom trees in full bloom, not a cloud in the sky and the sun wasn’t too hot. Koji and Takuya sat nestled in the roots of a large sakura tree, idly thinking their own thoughts.
“Hey!”
A soccer ball dropped down between the two. They looked to the fence that separated them from Sakijuro Middle School. A girl was standing at the fence, another pounding up behind her. Both had their eyes trained on them.
“Hey, Takuya!” called one, her hair dark as night with purple highlights from the light.
“Uh?” Takuya grabbed the ball and the two walked over to the fence, interested as to how the girl knew his name. As he got closer he recognized the cheery face and violet/maroon eyes. “Ansradar?”
“Yeah, that’s me!” she said. “Can we have our ball back, please? Korothi here kicked it to hard,” Ansradar inclined her head to the girl beside her.
Korothi was their age too, with pretty silver hair tied in a braid. Loose strands hung down to frame her face, fading from silver to black – the braid was laced with black strands and her eyes glittered a pretty jade green laced with silver. The two had their sleeves rolled up without their jackets and their skirts hiked up.
“Pleasure,” Korothi smiled. “Anyway, can we have the ball? The others are getting impatient.”
“Sure,” Takuya said and threw it over. Korothi caught it easily and nodded, drop kicking it back to the others, following it as soon as she kicked it.
“You guys play soccer?” asked Ansradar.
“Yeah, I do,” Koji said, throwing a thumb to face him. “One of the best.”
“We’ll just have to see!” Ansradar laughed. “Free this weekend? I want you to prove that!”
“No problem!” Takuya declared, drawing a challenging smile from Ansradar.
“Great! Meet you then!” she called and ran back to the field at the bidding of several disgruntled voices. She waved and turned back to the ball, passing to Korothi.
“This should be fun!” Takuya smiled and rubbed his hands together.
“You said it!” Koji smiled. “Koichi can come along too.” They nodded and settled under the tree again to wait for the bell.
“There they are,” Korothi chuckled as she watched Koji, Koichi and Takuya jog to field, a soccer ball clutched under Koichi’s arm. “Oh, and look, the brought a friend.”
“No worries! We can still win!” Ansradar giggled, jumping up and running to meet them. “Hey Takuya, Koji. Who’s your friend?”
“This is my brother, Koichi,” Koji said. Ansradar nodded and smiled. “And these are my friends – Korothi and Ruaihar.” The sunset haired girl poked her head around Korothi and smiled weakly. Ansradar looked Takuya up and down and smirked, “Like the outfit.”
Indeed, Takuya was dressed in blue men Capri’s with Nike tennis shoes and Adidas shirt that said “Pass Me the Ball!” Koji was dressed in shorts with Adidas tennis shoes and navy blue shirt with a Nike check mark. Koichi was dressed the same as his brother, only his shirt was red.
“Could say the same of you,” Koji muttered.
Ansradar had on soccer shorts and a jersey that read “Blue Thunderbolts!”. She also had on wristbands with white socks, a blue band wrapped around the top. Korothi was dressed in shorts, tennis shoes and a tank top with several foreign words spread across it. Ruaihar was dressed in Capri’s, tennis shoes and a turtleneck, sleeveless dyed green with a Nike check mark.
“So, ready to play?” Korothi asked. “Ruaihar – you’re golly.” Ruaihar nodded and set off her post, as did Koichi.
“I call kick off!” Ansradar said and bounced to the marked spot. Takuya joined her and Korothi dropped the ball.
They dived for the ball, but Ansradar got their first, passing it to Korothi who began to dribble it, working hard to keep ahead of Koji, hot on her tail. Takuya and Ansradar were not far behind, both determined to outdo the other. Koji tried to tackle the ball, but Korothi pulled up short and shot the ball backwards, only to have it intercepted by Takuya.
The tables turned and now Takuya was panting to outrun Ansradar. With all the force he could muster he sent the ball flying, hoping to hit over Ruaihar’s head. Sadly, it did not work that way. Ruaihar jumped and caught the ball as she flipped, sending it flying back to the field, to be head butted by Korothi to Ansradar.
Again, the tables turned and they charged down the field. Korothi got the ball and swung, sending the ball slamming into Koichi, though he grinned and bore it. Shaking her head at his stubbornness, Korothi and Ansradar shot to try and take the ball from Takuya and Koji. And so it continued and by midday no one had scored.
Exhausted, the all collapsed on the sidelines. “Wow, you guys are better then I thought,” Ansradar pouted.
“Yeah, you too,” Koichi smiled. “I especially liked the flip catch, Ruaihar.” Ruaihar blushed and began to bounce the ball up and down.
“Ruaihar’s just shy,” Korothi laughed. “Not used to such praise, especially from a guy.” Ruaihar glared at Korothi, who merely waved her hand and smiled.
“What is that supposed to mean?” Ruaihar demanded.
“Nothing!” Korothi said instantly and took cover behind the nearest shield – Koji.
“Lay of Ruaihar!” Ansradar laughed. “It’s just a joke.”
“Anyone else thirsty?” Takuya cut in. Ruaihar was staring dangerously at Koji, more rather Korothi, who was still using him as her shield.
“ME!” Koji screeched, not liking the way Ruaihar was staring a Korothi and him.
“Korothi’s treat!” Ruaihar declared.
“WHAT?” Korothi demanded, springing forth from behind her human shield. “I never agreed to such a thing!”
“You just did,” Ruaihar grinned. “Besides, it’s your turn.” Korothi frowned, but obviously Ruaihar had won. She dug in her pocket, counted the money, and nodded. “Great! Let’s go!”
As they left, the six didn’t notice the jealous stare of Izumi watching them go, her eyes trained upon Koji and Korothi.
