Summary:
Someone or something has caused the hot springs where Joe and Gomamon were staying to dry up again. Joe promised to take everyone to a warm place in the South, but the harsh weather and frigid temperatures were too much. Everyone began to collapse. Thankfully, Mimi showed up on Blimpmon and saved them.
Not far away, a pirate group led by Olegmon (call him Shogun) spotted them and began to fire at them with their weapons. During the attack Joe and Gomamon fall from Blimpmon and are captured.
Joe and Gomamon break out. They notice the kitchen is in a shambles, and there is very little food. The crew is so hungry and weak, they can't even recapture their prisoners. At the Island where they use to live, the ocean was contaminated and the mountain withered. Their food supply disappeared and now they are slowly starving.
With his pride as leader on the line, Joe gathers his courage and challenges Olegmon to a fight. If Joe wins, he asks that they let them go. However, if they lose Joe must become a lackey on top of their food supply. They venture to the top of an iceberg to fight.
Gomamon goes through several evolutions, but Olegmon is strong. Even Zudomon's Thor Hammer can't harm him. Joe wants to show Olegmon their true power in the fight...that's when Zudomon Mega Evolves to Vikemon, a mega digimon! With Arctic Blizzard and strength of conviction, Vikemon and Joe defeat Olegmon.
Olegmon was not a bad digimon after all. Joe brings him and his crew along with them. As promised, he leads them to an Island where they can all live. Afterwards, Joe's crest appears and so does Taichi. With all that took place, Joe has gained the crest's power.
