Episode 46: The Sword of Hope

Summary:

It's a bumpy ride on Komondomon, and Joe is feeling sick. When they stop for a break, Joe is startled by a mysterious orb.

Suddenly, Taichi, Yamato, Koushiro, and Takeru are sucked into that orb and captured. It turns out to be one of Millenniumon's servants, Sephirotmon. Inside, the boys and their Digimon encounter replicas of their defeated foes. They begin to battle once again.

Palmon has evolved to Angemon. He and Takeru are shocked to encounter Devimon. The evil Digimon accuses Angemon of being weak, because he is allying himself with the Chosen Childen. Angemon realizes that Devimon is in fact a part of himself that broke off into a separate being during a moment of despair.

Outside, Tailmon determines that Sephirotmon is gathering data to create a new body for Millenniumon. The remaining four kids try to fight Sephirotmon from the outside, but are shocked when the orb performs attacks used by their own friends.

Back inside the orb, Devimon's evil power nearly corrupts Angemon, but Takeru gives Angemon the strength to break free. Reunited with his "shadow," Angemon evolves into HolyAngemon and destroys the Sephirotmon orb with his Excalibur blade, freeing the others.

Devimon's Remaining presence questions how long he would cling to hope. HolyAngemon admits he would find out at the end of his journey with Takeru.
