MOVIE(S)The Digimon Savers Movie debuted in Japan December of 2006. It was pretty well received. The movie is about an evil digimon (Argomon) trying to put the human world into sleep mode forever. Read on for the full summary. The Ultimate Power! Burst Mode, Action!!Agumon stares up at Masaru (Marcus in the English version) who appears to be sleeping in a huge cocoon-like pod. The rain hides his agonizing tears. Japan is covered in thorny branches and humans are encased in cocoons. Just what is going on!!!!
Gaomon and Lalamon approach their tearful comrade. "Give it up," Gaomon says, "The humans were powerless against these thorns! Even without humans, we should do what we can to save the world." Suddenly, the three digimon spot a pretty little girl in really big trouble. A gang of Goblimon are chasing her. Among the group is Ogremon who is about to annihilate her, but luckily, Agumon and the others intervene. They grab the girl and head in the opposite direction. A battles ensues and our heroes come out victorious...at least temporarily.
Afterwards, when they ask the young girl who were those Digimon? She says, "Argomon's henchmen." Then she tells them her name is Rhythm and explains that Argomon wants to destroy the world. As they are talking, more and more Goblimon begin to chase them. Luckily, they find an abandoned boat. As they escape, Rhythm explains she is a Digimon and tells them of Argomon; He's a perfect Digimon than can use cursed thorns to put all the humans to sleep.. She admits she is weak and could not stop him.
It isn't long before their boat approaches a purple thorned tower that Rhythm says is Argomon's castle. Gaomon, Agumon, and Lalamon want to face this evil Digimon. However, Gaomon volunteers to stay behind and fight the Goblimon who are protecting the castle. In the meantime, Agumon, Lalamon and Rhythm try to get to the top of the castle where they can face Argomon. Before they can get very far, more obstacles appear, and Lalamon must leave to divert the attacking flying bat-like digimon.
It's now up to Agumon and Rhythm, who proceed to climb the thorny castle walls until they come face to face with Argomon. Argomon feels humans are the actual bad guys who soil the Earth for a quick buck. He believes that soon these humans will come to the Digital world and do the same...that is why he put them into eternal sleep. An angry Agumon demands Argomon let the humans go, but that only results in a thorny-shock for the rookie digimon. Rhythm begs Argomon to stop. She tells him that Agumon and the others believe in the humans...that is why they are fighting so hard.
When Argomon doesn't listen and begins to attack Rhythm, Agumon gains strength. He remembers what Masaru told him about becoming a man and delivers such a powerful "Baby Flame" (doesn't sound powerful, does it...ha, ha) that it burns the thorns. Argomon is furious and digivolves to become even more powerful (see images). He begins destroying everything around. Agumon and Rhythm make a run for it barely avoiding annihilation. Agumon's strength is going, and he is ready to give up when he hears a familiar voice. "No matter what the odds, never give up! Isn't that what it takes to be a man?" It's Masaru, who ultimately strikes a mighty blow to the attacking ultimate digimon!
DigiSoul, Charge! Overdrive! Agumon Digivolves to GeoGreymon!
The two fight.....Masaru (Markus) calls for Geo-Grey Sword! To Masaru's surprise....Argomon breaks it easily and it looks as if GeoGreymon will be beaten. With Masaru and Rhythm's power combined ShineGreymon evolves to burst mode! Argomon is soon reduced to a digi-egg and the cursed thorns disappear.
Later, Rhythm prepares to return to the digital world. She says she will tell everyone that humans aren't all beings with evil in their hearts. She thanks Agumon and the others and gives Agumon a kiss. Before entering the portal, Rhythm tells Agumon she loves him. (^_^) (Ending credits)
NOTE: Fans of Yoshino and Tohma (Thomas) will be disappointed to learn that aside from showing them sleeping...they were not in this movie. |
