On the beach of Australia Cody with Digmon and Joe with Ikkakumon are destroying control spires. Even though it's Christmas time, the weather is very hot. Joe and Cody are working on a control spire when up comes Santa in a bathing suit. The man turns out to be Gennai's Australian counterpart, Hogan. He tells the boys that they must get to the Great Barrier Reef where the last of the control spires is standing. Suddenly, a boy on a sailboard cries out for help. Turns out he's a digidestined, and he is being chased by 3 digimon (Shellmon, Gekomon, Ebidramon).
Once the boy makes it to shore safely, he introduces himself as Derek. His digimon is Crabmon. At the same time Ikkakumon and Armadillomon are scaring the three rogue digimon by making it look like they will be cooked in various cuisines. They run away heading for the Great Barrier Reef. Hogan, Joe and the others follow in an inflatable speedboat.
Upon reaching the Reef, they're surprised to see Scorpiomon is standing guard. Joe has Ikkakumon digivolve to Zudomon. The battle between the two digimon is harming the coral so Joe orders Zudomon to go in the water to fight. That's when Cody has Armadillomon armor digivolve to Submarimon while Derek instructs Crabmon to digivolve to Coelamon. It isn't long before the three digimon knock Scorpiomon right out...thus enabling them to work on the control spire. Coelamon destroys it easily. As they are applauding a job well done, a boat passes by with many other digidestined who have moved all the digimon right to them. Digiport open! All the digimon are sent back to where they belong.
And now it's on to France where T.K. and Tai are waiting by the Arc De Triomphe. T.K.'s Grandfather is supposed to be there to pick them up, but it's been a while and the boys are getting cold. Luckily, it's not long before the flamboyant elder man appears riding a motorcycle. On route to find digimon, Grandpa comes to a sudden stop. He notices that the gate to Versailles Palace was left open and no guards are in site. Grandpa insists they investigate and goes charging in with T.K. and Tai close behind. They inch their way through the palace halls until they come to a room where a pretty young girl and her Floramon are held captive while Mamemon, Bigmamemon, and Metalmamemon drink and party. Grandpa gets angry and enters the room ordering those digimon to stop what they're doing. "Why don't you join us for a little dessert?" Bigmamemon asks just before Grandpa, Tai, and T.K. are struck in the face with pies.
Agumon digivolve to Greymon.
Patamon digivolve to Angemon.
All the digimon crash through the walls taking their battle outside. At the same time Catherine is untied and introduces herself. Seems the young girl and her digimon, Floramon, were trying to destroy a control spire when they became prisoners.
Outside the ultimate, Giromon with his spinning mine attack, has joined the fray. This requires Angemon to digivolve to Magnaangemon and Greymon to digivolve to Metalgreymon. Catherine has Floramon digivolve to Kiwimon as well. All three work together to move the digimon down the River Seine to the last control spire. Once there, the control spire is destroyed and the rogue digimon are sent back to the digiworld. Both T.K. and Tai give Catherine a kiss on the cheek for another job well done, but it's actually Grandpa who shows the boys the elegant way the French address a lady. Everyone looks up quickly to see a train pass carrying dozens of digidestined back to their homes. Who knew there were so many?
Back in Japan, a young girl suffering from a cold is lured to an alley by Arukenimon holding a colorful pinwheel. (Haven't your parents ever taught you not to go with strangers???)
